The 211hp 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with 258 lb-ft. of torque flows through quattro®, making the A5 the only car in its class to offer standard all-wheel drive. By splitting the torque with a 40:60 rear bias, handling becomes sportscar-like. When conditions require, the system dynamically shifts the torque to the wheels with the most grip. The result is total confidence around any turn and peace of mind in any weather condition.
The ingenious configuration of the front differential, clutch and steering rack, combined with the use of lightweight aluminum suspension components, contributes to an optimal weight distribution in the A5. The result? Responsive steering, impressive agility and well-balanced driving dynamics.

The original Coupe quattro® lines are evident in the C pillar, while the R8 influence is seen in the graceful wheel arches and shoulder line. It’s a technology that we’ve been developing for 30 years. And the competition? They’re just now beginning to realize what we’ve known for three decades.
For you, quattro means unmatched traction and confidence in less-than-ideal driving conditions and unequaled performance all other times.
Permanent all-wheel drive systems are not created equal. And they certainly don’t perform that way either. quattro is essentially a mechanical
system devised around a torque-sensing selflocking center differential that shifts torque instantaneously to where it’s needed. This means quattro is adjusting power between front and rear axles more than 100 times a second, ensuring torque is delivered to the wheels where traction exists.
In normal driving situations, quattro distributes the power between each axle by sending 40 percent to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear wheels, enhancing
