How to measure Differences?

Black/white calibration

• Select Setup – Calibrate – Black/White Calibration

• Place unit on black trap and confirm OK

• Place unit on white standard and confirm OK

Black/white calibration is requested every 3 months.

Cyan check

After a black and white calibration the instrument must be checked on the
Cyan standard.

• Place unit on Cyan standard and confirm OK

The Cyan check is requested every 30 days. Make sure to perform it in
laboratory environment (Temperature 20 - 25°C, Humidity 30 - 60%).

„AUTO standard“ or measure a standard

• Input standard name:

Change character ==> turn scroll wheel
Move to next digit ==> press scroll wheel
Move one digit back ==> press esc

• Input number of readings

• Place instrument on standard

• Copy predefined settings for data display

• Continue with sample readings

saved and transferred to software.

How to measure Absolute Data?

• Select Measure - Absolute

• Place instrument on sample

• Press operate to take a reading

• Default settings: average of 3

• Input sample name:

Change character ==> turn scroll wheel
Move to next digit ==> press scroll wheel
Move one digit back ==> press esc

How to use an Organizer?

An organizer is a predefined sampling
procedure that needs to be downloaded
from the software smart-chart.

• Select style (Par1), color (Par2), paint

• Press operate to measure the first

measurement zone

• After a measurement zone has been

completed, press operate to move to
the next zone

• To skip a measurement zone, press the

mode wheel and select „Interrupt Statistic“.
The number of readings is set to zero.

Note: „Interrupt“ must be activated in the

organizer!

How to change Settings?

Instrument settings and measurement parameters for each individual
standard can be changed in Setup.
