POINTS TO Observe for safe usage
DO NOT DISASSEMBLE OR ALTER
Attempts to disassemble or alter may lead to an accident, fire
and/or electric shock.
KEEP SMALL ARTICLES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHIL
DREN
Store small articles (screws, etc.) in places not accessible to
children. If swallowed, consult a physician immediately.
USE THE CORRECT AMPERE RATING WHEN REPLACING
FUSES
Replace fuses only with fuses of the same ampere rating.
Failure to do so may result in a fire and/or damage to the vehi
cle.
HALT USE IMMEDIATELY IF A PROBLEM APPEARS
When problems appear, stop using the system immediately and
contact the dealer from whom you purchased the equipment.
Some problems which may warrant immediate attention include
a lack of sound, noxious odors or smoke being emitted from the
unit, or foreign objects dropped inside the unit.
USE ONLY IN CARS WITH A 12 VOLT NEGATIVE GROUND
Use only in cars with a 12 volts negative (-) ground. (Check
with your dealer if you are not sure.) Failure to do so may result
in fire, etc.
BEFORE WIRING, DISCONNECT THE CABLE FROM THE
NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Before doing any electrical wiring, disconnect the cable from the
negative (-) terminal of the battery. Failure to do so may result
in electric shock or injury due to electrical shorts.
31
POINTS TO OBSERVE FOR SAFE USAGE
KEEP ELECTRICAL CABLES TOGETHER TO AVOID OPER
ATING HAZARDS
Arrange wiring and cables in compliance with the installation
manual to prevent obstructions when driving. Cables or wiring
that obstructs or hangs up on places such as the steering
wheel, gear lever, brake pedals can be extremely hazardous.
DO NOT CUT AWAY THE WIRE SHEATH AND USE POWER
TO OTHER EQUIPMENT
Never cut away the cable shielding to use power to another
piece of equipment. Doing so will exceed the current carrying
capacity of the wire and result in fire or electric shock.
DO NOT INSTALL IN LOCATIONS WHICH MIGHT HINDER
VEHICLE OPERATION
Do not install in locations which might create hazards for the
vehicle occupants or hinder vehicle operation (such as the
steering wheel or gear shift) by obstructing forward vision or
hampering movement etc.
30
/K Caution
DO NOT RAISE THE VOLUME EXCESSIVELY
Keep the volume at a level where you can still hear outside
noises while driving. Driving while unable to hear outside
sounds could cause an accident.
DO NOT USE THIS EQUIPMENT OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE
Do not use this equipment for purposes other than those listed
for a vehicle. Failure to do so may result in an electric shock or
an injury.
KEEP FOREIGN OBJECTS OUT OF THE CD COMPART
MENT SLOT
Keep any foreign objects, including fingers, out of the CD com
partment slot.
STOP THE VEHICLE BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY OP
ERATION THAT COULD INTERFERE WITH YOUR DRIVING
If loading or unloading a CD interferes with your driving, stop
the vehicle in a safe location before attempting operation.
HAVE THE WIRING AND INSTALLATION DONE BY EX
PERTS
The wiring and installation of this unit requires special technical
skill and experience. To ensure safety, always contact the
dealer where you purchased this unit to have the work done.
USE SPECIFIED ACCESSORY PARTS AND INSTALL THEM
SECURELY
Be sure to use only the specified accessory parts. Use of other
than designated parts may damage this unit internally or may
not securely install the unit in place as parts that come loose
can create hazards.

ture or dust. Moisture or dust that penetrates into this unit may
cause smoke or fire.
MAKE THE CORRECT CONNECTIONS
Failure to make the correct connections can cause fire or acci
dent to occur.
ARRANGE THE WIRING SO IT IS NOT CRIMPED OR
PINCHED
Route the cables and wiring so as not be crimped by moving
parts like seat rail or make contact with sharp or pointed spots
which might damage the wiring.
When playing 3-inch CDs in the 7909, do not use an adaptor
ring. Adaptor rings may become stuck inside the player and
damage the mechanism.
