For a description of the AT-8500 Series of Layer 2+ Fast Ethernet

Item #1:
This correction applies to DC models of the AT-8500 Series and corrects
the Caution on page 66 in the Installation Guide. The Caution should
read as follows:
Caution
It is recommended as a safety precaution that a 15 Amp Listed circuit breaker be installed at the supply end of the cable to be used
with this LAN equipment.
ALWAYS connect the wiring to the LAN equipment before connecting the wiring to the breaker. To avoid the danger of physical
injury from electrical shock, do not work with HOT feeds. Always
be sure that the breaker is in the OFF position before connecting
the wiring to the breaker.
Item #2:
The following Cautions should be added to the section Reviewing Safety
Precautions on page 46. The first Caution applies to all switches. The
last two Cautions apply only to the AT-8524POE switch:
Caution
The unit does not contain serviceable components. Please return
damaged units for servicing.
PN 613-50672-00 Rev A 1 Allied Telesyn, Inc.
Caution
The AT-8524POE Ethernet ports are only intended for installation
in Environment A as defined in IEEE 802.3af. All interconnected
equipment must be contained in the same building including the
interconnected equipment’s associated LAN connections.
Caution
The surface-mount fuses F1 to F24 on the Power over Ethernet
daughterboard in the AT-8524POE switch are 60V, max 2A fuses.
These fuses are not field-replaceable and should only be serviced
by a trained Allied Telesyn service technician.
Item #3:
This item applies to the AT-8524POE switch. The Note on page 51,
which describes the different methods for attaching the rackmount
brackets on the switch, should read as follows:
Note
The AT-8524POE switch supports only Method A.
Furthermore, the AT-8524POE switch comes with twelve screws for
mounting the brackets on the switch, while all other AT-8500 Series
switches come with eight screws.
