Plow performance issues will be seen when using a terrain compensated receiver. Issues could be:
Plow never on grade Plow shooting up in starter hole Very rapid plow movements in general
Some of these issues can be troubleshot with Intellislope setting adjustments, but first take a
look to see if the receiver is terrain compensated.
Some examples of terrain compensated receivers that may be used with Intellislope are
height on the steering vehicle profile needs to be set to zero (Or the equivalent of turning off the terrain
compensated receiver). The reason why the terrain compensation needs to be off or height needs to be
0 is because the steering controller uses that measurement to calculate tilt and roll. With Intellislope the
WMC module doesn’t need that information, because the WMC is all ready calculating tilt and roll.
The Water Management Control module on the Intellislope system, the module is measuring
the tilt and the roll. The RTK receiver on the system is to supply NMEA information on its current
position only. When the receiver is sending out tilt and roll corrected GPS signal and the WMC is also
correcting for the roll reading, now the roll and tilt of the field has been corrected twice, throwing off
what the correct depth should be. The examples below shows when a terrain compensated receiver is
sending out roll corrections to the WMC with terrain compensated GPS without terrain compensated
GPS signal.
