The Systec USB-CAN driver has a network driver option that allows multiple applications to use
the same hardware connection. To obtain this functionality you need to upgrade to or install
the newest USB-CAN driver that is recommended for use by Ag Leader and have a new style
USB to CAN adapter (PN 3204001). The old style adapter does not have the functionality
required for multiple applications.
New Style USB to CAN Adapter
1. Ensure the Tiling feature is unlocked and that the Integra is on current firmware
2. Create a tiling configuration and use these vehicle measurements:
a. Implement Offsets: Tile Plow Configuration
i. Antenna Location From Hitch Point: 120in
ii. Antenna Height From Ground: 137in
iii. Antenna to Plow Base: 127in
iv. Tip Location from Antenna (Horizontal): 24in in front
v. Antenna Location From Centerline: 0
Steps to upgrade laptop to use
1. Uninstall old GPS simulator & CAN Simulator
2. Install the newest recommended Systec USB-CAN driver
a. You will be forced to uninstall the old one first
3. Plug in Systec USB-CAN module and go through the “found new hardware wizard.”
a. You may have to re-boot after
b. You may have to repeat the install process if the steps outlined do not work
4. Once the newest driver is installed, connect the USB-CAN hardware and start the USB-CAN
modul Control application. For default installations launch it from:
a. Windows Start Button -> All Programs -> USB-CAN modul Utilities -> Tools -> USB-CAN
modul Control (pictured below)

5. If you only have 1 hardware adapter connected, it should automatically be highlighted in blue.
Now press the “Change” button. A new dialog will be activated as shown below. Ensure that
the check for “use USB-CAN network driver” is checked.
a. If this checkbox is not available to be checked, uninstall the USB-Can Module Utilities
and reinstall the supported version linked above.
6. Press OK. Now press apply on the USB-CAN module Control window. Wait for a few seconds,
and Windows will run the found new hardware dialog and it will re-flash the firmware to the
CAN box. Press next through the screens and eventually press finish.
7. Install newest version of CAN Simulator
8. Install newest version of GPS Simulator
9. Now start up GPS and CAN Simulator and ensure that they are both set to use the Systec USB-
CAN adapter for their CAN interface. This will allow both applications to be connected to the
display’s CAN bus.
10. Start the GPS Simulator.
a. Go to File -> Open -> Sample tile path 8-27-12.gps
i. Click “Open”
ii. Or setup whichever field you desire

b. Go to: Edit -> Preferences
i. Change “Elevation Model to “Ripple”
ii. Adjust “Max Elevation Change” “Max Grade” & “Avg Eastward Grade” to vary
the amount of grade and ripple you would like. Check elevation model on the
main simulator page.
iii. Click “Apply” & “OK”
iv. NOTE: When using “Sample tile path 8-27-12.gps” These setting may be
ignored, as they have the elevation from when the playback was made
c. Go to: Settings ->CAN…
i. Change Hardware type to “Systec USB-CAN”
ii. Click “Apply”
iii. Click “OK”
d. Go to: Settings ->GPS… -> Receiver 1
i. Change Protocol to “NMEA 2000 (CAN)”
ii. Change Fix Quality to “RTK”
iii. Change Satellites to “8”

iv. Press “OK”
v. NOTE: You may also set up two receivers and set receiver 1 to NMEA and
receiver 2 to NMEA 2000. This would then allow you to see two GPS buttons on
the Display. However this could overload your computer’s serial port, only one
receiver is needed for plow control.
e. Go to: Settings
i. Click “Serial Port” and verify the proper serial and COM port settings for your
computer
f. Go to: View
i. Click “Show Elevation”
ii. A blue to red gradient image should now appear
g. If using the sample field, click the “Rewind” button 6 times or place the tractor icon in
desired location.

Open the CAN Simulator
h. Click on the “Water Management” tab
i. Check “Calibrated”
j. “Present?” should be green with a “Yes” in it
i. If it does not, check the setting adjustment made in step 5
k. When doing a survey, Elevation Delta should be at “0”
l. Before starting your tile install, “Elevation Delta” will lower your plow below your Min
Start depth. (Adjusted in Meters)
