Optical Character Recognition (OCR). OCR is the recognition of printed text by a computer. It converts the printed text to an editable document (for example an MS-Word document).

How Software Works Together

This section describes the methods on how to acquire images using different modes.

Stand-Alone Mode

Scan directly from ScanWise. ScanWise will automatically open the destination program of your choice.

Twain Mode

Scan (via ScanWise) your image directly into an image editing application (for example Adobe Photoshop LE) using the TWAIN protocol.

Scan (via ScanWise) your text or image directly into an application (for example MS-Word) using the OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) mode.
