Important safety Information
It is important that this instruction brochure be kept together with the appliance for future consultation. If the appliance is sold or transferred to another person, ascertain that the brochure is also given, in order that the new owner be aware of the correct use of the apparatus and the relative instructions.
These instructions have been compiled for your own safety, and that of others, we therefore request you to read them carefully before installing and using the appliance.
The work of installation and connection should only be carried out by an installer qualified according to regulations in force.
Any modificatons to the electrical or gas plant which may be necessary for the installation of the appliance should be carried out only by qualified personnel.
It is dangerous to modify, or attempt to modify, the characteristics of this appliance.
Use only flat bottomed saucepans having the same diameter as the electric plate. They may be slightly larger, but never smaller.
Particular care should be taken when cooking with oil or fat.
When in use the cooking surface and saucepans become very hot. Children should be supervised if they need to approach. Do not forget that the surface and the saucepans remain hot for a long time after the appliance has been switched off.
If the appliance is fitted with a cover, its function is to protect the surface from dust when closed and to accumulate splashes of grease when open. Do not use for other purposes.
This appliance is fed by 230 V mono, bi, triphase voltage. A multiphase connection without a neutral (400 V) could provoke the destruction of the cooking plate/zone.
For eventual repairs contact your nearest Assistance Centre or authorized retailer, and use only original spareparts.
n case of fault, do not attempt to correct it yourself; repairs carried out by unqualified persons may cause damage to materials or persons.
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. The appliance should be cleaned after each use, in order to remain in good condition for a long period and to avoid disfunctioning of the burners and ignitors if fitted (automatic ignition). Fruit juices and sugar which are spilt on the electric plate caramelize and are difficult to eliminate. We advise you to clean immediately as they could cause irremediable damage to the appliance.
Always ensure that the knobs are in the “Stop” position when the appliance is not in use.

Instruction for the User
All operations relating to the connection of the hob must be carried out by qualified personnel, according to the regulations in force. Specific instructions are contained in the notices reserved for the installer.
Control knob of hob
The appliance is operated by knobs situated on the control panel. Seven different positions permit the hot plates to be regulated as required. The knobs can be turned clockwise or anti-clockwise. In position “6” the maximum disbursement of heat is obtained; in position “0” the plate is switched off (figure l).
To ensure the long-life of the appliance, and for a greater saving of electricity, we advise you to follow these precautions:
- use only flat based saucepans with a diameter not
smaller than that of the plate (figure 2);
- do not allow liquids to boil over onto the plate;
- never leave plates on without a saucepan or with an empty saucepan; do not use the appliance to heat the room;
- only switch on the plate when saucepan is in position;
- to avoid damage caused by humidity do not place wet pans on the hot plate, or leave hot saucepans to become cold.
Pilot lamp
The pilot lamp on the control panel signals the connection of the electric plate.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the control panel with a damp cloth, do not use abrasive products. The knobs can be removed by lifting to facilitate cleaning. The enamelled part of the hob can be cleaned with warm water and detergent. Although the enamel will tollerate acids, we advise you to quickly remove splashes of vinigar, lemon and all acid substances.
Also immediately remove all residue of fat or other to avoid any incrustation. If incrustations have formed leave the crust immersed in hot water. Never use metal brushes, knives or similar objects which could scratch the enamel. Avoid using acid detergents. Clean steel hobs with specific detergents. To ensure the long-life of the hob, we advise you to
clean it regularly. Naturally, before cleaning the plates, allow them to cool. Do not acquire the bad habit of wiping over the plates with a damp cloth whilst they are still hot. Although they will. stand up to such teatment, fragments of the cloth could remain. The plates and their bases can, however, be cleaned occasionally using fine sandpaper. The base of the plates in special steel will stay impeccable if cleaned with hot water and vinigar. We advise you to grease the surface of the plates from time to time with a non-acid fat (cooking oil, sewing machine oil or vaseline). Products for care and maintenance are available commercially.
Service and original spare parts
This machine, before leaving the factory, has been tested and studied by many experts and specialists, in order to give you the best results. Instruction for the Installer
Installation
The appliance is of type X and has been designed to be built into or fitted next to units according to the regulations in force (IEC 61-80). The side walls of the unit must not exceed the height of the appliance’s hob. Avoid installing the appliance in the proximity of inflammable materials (e.g. curtains, tea towels, etc.).
Electrical connection
The appliance is predisposed to function with a 220/ 230 V monophase voltage tension. The connection must be carried out in conformity with the regulations and dispositions of the laws in force. Before connecting ensure that:
- the limiter valve and the electrical mains can support the voltage of the appliance (see label).
- the power supply is correctly earthed according to the regulations in force.
- the plug or omnipolar interrupter used can be easily reached once the appliance has been installed.
Fit a sectioned plug to the voltage cable and connect to a security socket. If a direct connection to the mains is required an omnipolar interrupter with a minimum opening of 3 mm between contacts which does not interrupt the neutral, corresponding to regulations in force, should be interposed between the appliance and the supply. The brown coloured phase cable (situated at terminal “L” of the terminal box) must always be connected to the network phase. The voltage cable must always be positioned in such a manner that it at no point reaches a temperature of 80°C above room temperature.
Replacement of the voltage cable
The connection of the voltage cable to the appliance’s terminal box is of type “Y” which signifies that its replacement requires the specific equipment of a technician. If the replacement of the cable is necessary, use only cables type H 05 VV H2-F O T 105; in both cases, the cables must be of sections suitable to the voltage and able to support the working heat. Furthermore it is necessary that the yellow/green earth wire be approximately 2 cm longer than the phase wires (fig. 3). After connection try out the heating elements by allowing them to function for about three minutes.

To open the terminal box and reach the terminals proceed as described below:
- insert the point of a screwdriver into the visible protruding part of the terminal box;
- exert a light pressure and lift (fig. 4).

Building In
This hob can be inserted in a fitted kitchen unit with a depth of between 550 and 600 mm and having suitable characteristics.
Dimensions (fig. 5)
The fixture of the hob to the unit must be carried out as follows: Position the relevant sealings, supplied, on the edge of the opening predisposed for installation, taking care that the edges meet without overlapping. Place the hob near the opening to permit the connection of gas and electricity. Install the hob in the opening of

the unit taking care in centring. Fix the hob with the appropriate clips (Fig. 7). The traction of the screws is sufficient to trace the sealing, any excess of which can be removed. The edge of the hob forms a double labyrinth seal which provides a total guarantee against the infiltration of liquids. If several functions are to be combined (hob 2 burners + long burner + two plates) see figure which indicates the minimum distance to be observed between the various openings to be cut on the surface of the unit.
The hob can be installed in a kitchen unit with an opening for insertion of the dimensions illustrated in Fig. 6.
