G.SHDSL 4-port Security Gateway

ZyXEL’s Prestige 792H G.SHDSL 4-port

Security Gateway is a cost-effective DSL

solution designed for medium-sized businesses

to access the Internet or remote office

networks. It integrates a high-speed DSL port,

4-port 10/100Mbps auto MDI/MDIX Ethernet

switch and Dial-Backup port to ensure

availability of the Internet. Adopting G.SHDSL

technologies, the Prestige 792H provides an

ideal high-speed alternative to leased-line

services by providing symmetric LAN-to-LAN

and Internet access transmissions at selectable

speeds of up to 2.3Mbps. It can also be

configured as either server or client mode to

provide point-to-point connectivity between

two sites.

The Prestige 792H is also a security gateway,

which protects networks by providing robust

Firewall security features and standard IPSec

Virtual Private Network tunneling. Additional

features such as auto fail-over/fall-back Dial

Backup, Traffic Redirect, and Media

Bandwidth Management will maximize

performance while minimizing operation and

maintenance cost.

Higher-speed Internet Access

The scalable G.SHDSL technology supports symmetrical multi-rate

data transmission speeds of 72Kbps to 2.3Mbps. It is a cost-effective

solution for migration from T1/E1 service. G.SHDSL technology is

ideal for applications such as web hosting, video conferencing and

the two-way data traffic needs common to businesses.

Robust Firewall Security

The ICSA certified ZyNOS operating system ensures state-of-the-art

Firewall performance and robust security from the Prestige 792H.

Based on Stateful Packet Inspection and Denial of Service (DoS),

it provides the first line of defense against hackers, network intruders,

and other hazardous threats.

VPN (Virtual Private Network) Support

The Prestige 792H supports standard IPSec VPN, suitable for site-to-

site and remote access deployment. Data encryption over the

Internet ensures secure data transmission between two sites and can

be used to replace a private leased line or frame relay network;

global interconnectivity can be achieved at a minimal expense.

Auto Fail-over and Fail-back WAN Backup Solution

The Prestige 792H supports fail-over and fail-back WAN Backup

Solution by forwarding traffic to either a backup ISDN or analog

modem in the event of DSL connection failure. When the DSL

connection is re-established, traffic returns. The Prestige 792H also

performs backup functions by redirecting traffic to a specific gateway

to ensure availability of the Internet. The WAN Backup Solution

saves device maintenance cost and minimizes daily operation loss.

Effective Media Bandwidth Management (MBM)

The Prestige 792H enables network administrators to allocate

network resources while guaranteeing Quality of Service (QoS).

The MBM (Media Bandwidth Management) function prioritizes

media services, increasing productivity and efficiency in daily

operation by tailoring a system to specific demands such as VoIP,

video streaming, videoconferencing and MP3 applications.
