CongurationthroughSNMPConnection
SNMP(SimpleNetworkManagementProtocol)isthemostpopularnetworkmanagement protocolatpresent.Withthisprotocol,alldevicesinthenetworkcanbemanagedbya networkmanagementserver.
SNMPappliesthemanagementmodeofserver/clientend.Theback-endnetwork managementserverservesastheSNMPserver.Thefront-endnetworkdeviceservesas theSNMPclient.ThefrontendandbackendshareoneMIBmanagementdatabaseand communicatewitheachotherthroughtheSNMPprotocol.
Theback-endnetworkmanagementservermustbeinstalledwiththenetwork managementsoftwaresupportingtheSNMPprotocol.Theswitchisconguredand managedbythenetworkmanagementsoftware.ForthedetailedcongurationofSNMP onZXR102900Eseriesswitches,refertothesectionof“SNMP”.

WebisanotherwaytoimplementremoteswitchesmanagementandissimilartoT elnet. AusercanlogintoaremoteswitchthroughtheEthernetportofthelocalhost.Thelogin username,loginpasswordandadministratorpasswordmustbeconguredontheswitch andtheWebfunctionmustbeenabled.AlsotheIPaddressofthelayer-3portontheswitch canbesuccessfullypingedthroughonthelocalhost(ForcongurationofIPaddressof thelayer-3port,refertoLayer3Conguration).
