2. Constructionequipmentcanbehazardousifimproperlyoperatedormaintained.
Operationandmaintenanceofthismachineshallbeincompliancewiththe
informationinthe Operator’ sManual suppliedwiththismachine.Ifthesemanualsare
missing,orderreplacementsfromthemanufacturerthroughyourdistributor.

1. LOADRADIUS – Thehorizontaldistancefromtheaxisofrotationbeforeloadingto
thecenteroftheverticalhoistlineortacklewithaloadapplied.
2. LOADBOOMANGLE – Itistheanglebetweentheboombasesectionandthe
horizontal,afterliftingtheratedloadattheratedradius.Theboomanglebefore
loadingshouldbegreatertoaccountfordeflections.Theloadedboomangle
combinedwiththeboomlengthgiveonly
approximationoftheoperatingradius.

uniformsupportingsurface.

the appropriate position, and the
raisedfreeofthesupportingsurface.
3. Craneloadratingsontiresdependonappropriateinflationpressureandthetire
conditions.Cautionmustbeexercisedwhenincreasingairpressuresintires.Consult
Operator ’ sManual forprecautions.
4. Consultappropriatesectionofthe Operator’ sManual f ormoreexactdescriptionof
hoistlinereeving.
5. Theuseofmorepartsoflinethanrequiredbytheloadmayresultinhavinginsufficient
ropetoallowthehookblocktoreachtheground.
6. Properlymaintainedwireropeisessentialforsafecraneoperation.Consult
Operator ’ sManual forpropermaintenanceandinspectionrequirements.
7. Whenspin-resistantwireropeisused,theallowableropeloadingshallbethe
breakingstrengthdividedbyfive(5),unlessotherwisespecifiedbythewirerope
manufacturer.
1.7OPERATION
1. CRANELOADRATINGSMUSTNOTBEEXCEEDED.DONOTATTEMPTTOTIP
THECRANETODETERMINEALLOWABLELOADS.
2. Wheneitherradiusorboomlength,orboth,arebetweenlistedvalues,thesmallerof
thetwolistedloadratingsshallbeused.
3. DonotoperateatlongerradiithanthoselistedontheapplicableLiftChart(cross
hatchedareas shownonrangediagrams)astippingcanoccurwithouta
loadonthehook.
4. TheboomanglesshownontheLiftChartsgiveanapproximationoftheoperating
radiusforaspecifiedboomlength.Theboomangle,beforeloading,shouldbegreater
toaccountforboomdeflection.Itmaybenecessarytoretracttheboomifmaximum
boomangleisinsufficienttomaintainratedradius.
5. Telescopicsections3,4and5mustbeextendedsynchronically.

slings,andauxiliaryliftingdevices.Their

Whenliftingoverthejib,theweightofany

accountedfor.Deductforeachmeterofexcessivewireropebeforeattemptingtolifta
load.
Whenjibsareerectedbutunused,addthree(3)timestheweightofjib,anyhook
block,slings,andauxiliaryliftingdevicesatthejibheadtotheload(jibweight:1242
kg( 2738lbs))。 .
7. Ratedloadsdonotexceed85%onoutriggersor75%ontires,ofthetippingloadas
determinedbyASME/ANSIB30.5.
8. Ratedloadsarebasedonfreelysuspendedloads.Noattemptshallbemadetodraga
loadhorizontallyonthegroundinanydirection.
9. Theusershalloperateatreducedratingstoallowforadversejobconditions,suchas:
softorunevenground,outoflevelconditions,highwinds,sideloads,pendulumaction,
jerkingorsuddenstoppingoffloads,hazardousconditions,experienceofpersonnel,
two-machinelifts,travelingwithloads,electricwires,etc,(sidepullonboomorjibis
hazardous).Ifwindspeedisgreaterthanthepermissiblevalueof45ft/s(13.8m/s),
grade6)oritisfulminous,whilethecraneisinoperation,dothetasksthatfollow:stop
thework(safelylowertheload),retracttheboomandcorrectlystowtheboom.
10.Loadratingsaredependentuponthecranebeingmaintainedaccordingto
manufacturer’ sspecifications.
11.Itisrecommendedthatloadhandlingdevices,includinghooks,andhookblocks,be
keptawayfromboomheadatalltimes.
