The Zoom/Modem V.92 EXT now features a stylish new case and great new features.
The modem plugs into the serial port of any computer, including computers running
Windows, Macintosh OS, Linux and Unix. The Model 3049CF is fully compatible with
all features of the latest V.92/V.44 international standards and will also communicate
at V.90 and slower speeds.
Benefits of V.92/V.44 include:
Faster negotiation: most modems call the same Internet service number every time.
V.92 modems save the connection profile to significantly reduce connection time.
Improved data compression: the old V.42bis compression standard was set over
ten years ago, before the World Wide Web! The new V.44 standard is designed for
the kinds of content seen on the Web today and can noticeably improve your download speeds.
Faster upload speeds: V.92 can send e-mail and attachments up to 40 percent
faster than V.90 modems.
Modem-on-Hold: allows you to answer an incoming call without losing an Internet
connection on the same line.*
In addition to the latest data communications technology, the new Model 3049CF
includes other features which make it superior to the competition, including:
ZoomGuard Lightning Protection: provides the best protection in the industry
against the leading cause of modem failure.
Advanced Power Handling: protects against brownouts and power glitches which
can freeze other modems - a "must-have" for unattended modem applications.
Caller I.D. for use with compatible phone services.
High-quality monitor speaker to clearly monitor the status of the call's progress:
dialtone, busy, ring, voice answer, or any other audible output from the phone line.
On-board digital signal processor and controller for the highest level of
system stability and compatibility with virtually any operating system that supports a
serial communications port.
Extended status reporting of the modem's performance with ten indicator lights,
which include a V.92 indicator and a modem-on-hold indicator.
Voice mail support when used with a soundcard.
Multiple language documentation and software: the modem documentation
and software are provided in: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Dutch,
Italian, and Swedish. Modem hardware documentation is also provided in Greek,
Polish, and Turkish. Software is also provided in Dansk, Norsk, Chinese and Suomi.

System Requirements
• Available serial port (also called RS-232 port, modem port, or COM port)
• Voice Mail requires a soundcard for message playback (microphone required to record a
personalized greeting message)
• NOTE: This modem’s hardware works with computers running Macintosh, Unix and other
operating systems which typically include software for Internet access. To assure support
for other modem features, such as fax, this modem is bundled with software on a CD-ROM
that requires a Windows operating system and a hard drive.
