Replacing the pick rollers — P.N. 118-9717-0X

Turn off the printer. Remove Tray 1 from the printer.
Open the paper feeder drawer.

Reach in through the empty paper feeder cavity and spread the plastic

Reverse these steps to install the pick rollers. When installing the pick rollers, be
sure to line up the locating pin of each roller with its hole in the feed shaft. Also,
be sure the arrow embossed on the pick roller points into the printer.

Replacing the multi-purpose tray pick rollers —
P.N. 118-9755-0X
For assistance while replacing the paper feeder, contact you local Tektronix
representative. In the U.S. and Canada, call 1-800-835-6100. Replace the pick
rollers as a set.
Slide out the multi-purpose tray assembly.

Release the latch holding the front pick roller retainer to the pick roller
shaft and slide the retainer away from the front pick roller.
3.
Lift the front pick roller toward the front roll retainer, far enough so
the pick roller clears its locking pin. Remove the front pick roller.
Release the latch holding the rear pick roller retainer to the pick roller

For installation, slide each roller onto its locking pin from the retainer side of the
pin. The arrow embossed on each pick roller points away from the printer.
Ensure each retainer’s latch locks in place in the groove of the shaft.

Replacing the fuser unit —
P.N. 118-9886-0X (110 V), 118-9887-0X (220 V)
For assistance installing the fuser unit, contact your local Tektronix representative. In the U.S. and
Canada, call 1-800-835-6100.
Note
The printer keeps track of the prints processed through the fuser. Be
sure to set the fuser’s life count to zero once you install the new fuser
unit. This is explained as the last step of this installation procedure.
1.
Turn the printer off.

Pull out fuser drawer on the left side.

Disconnect the two wiring

held in place by a locking latch,
squeeze the latch while you pull
on the connector.

Remove the two Allen screws
securing the fuser unit in place

Verify that the new fuser unit is
the correct 110 V or 220 V type
for your printer.
Reverse these steps to install the
new fuser unit. Use the new
screws provided in the kit. Take
care not to deform the fuser
ground strip in the bottom of the
fuser’s cavity.
Install the new fuser roll cartridge.

Replacing the fuser assembly —

Turn off the printer and open the Tray 1.
Remove the front screw securing the fuser assembly.
Slide the fuser assembly a few inches out of the printer.
Remove the rear screw on the fuser assembly’s frame rail.
Lift the fuser assembly and pull the assembly out of the printer.

Tilt the end of the fuser assembly as you insert the assembly side rails
into the guide wheels inside the printer. Ensure the guide wheels are
inside the siderail grooves.
Lower the end of the fuser assembly and slide the assembly into the
printer.
Reinstall the screws to secure the fuser assembly to the printer frame.
Install the new fuser roll cartridge included with the new fuser
assembly.

Reset fuser life count. Scroll to the front panel menu item

Press in and lift on the front arm of the multi-purpose tray to release the
front of the tray.

Slide the multi-purpose tray forward to free the rear of the tray.
Remove the multi-purpose tray.

Remove the screw securing the ground wire to the paper feeder
assembly.

Hold the bottom of the multi-purpose tray assembly and rotate it up
and away from the paper feeder assembly.

Replacing the exit tray— P.N. 118-9800-0X
For assistance while replacing the exit tray, contact you local Tektronix

Turn the printer off.
Collapse the exit tray extensions.
2.

Close the exit tray.
4.
Remove the front pivot arm of the tray from the front pivot hole in the
printer frame.
5.
Remove the rear pivot arm of the tray from the rear pivot hole in the
printer frame and remove the exit tray.
Reverse these steps to install the exit tray. Pull down on the leaf spring located
on the front pivot arm and insert the front arm into the front pivot hole, making
sure the leaf spring rests against the outer printer frame.
