Pull the battery tab from the slot to activate the batteries (see diagram).
The Door/Window Sensor’s light will blink several times to indicate that it is
functioning pro p e r l y .
STEP 1: SOFTWARE SET UP
Launch your X A N B O O™ S O F T W A R E p rogram on your PC. From the Xanboo PC
c o n t rol screen, click “SET UP”. Select “SET UP SENSORS” f rom the dro p - d o w n
menu, which will guide you through the set up process to register your
D o o r / Window Sensor with your personal xanboo.com account. While viewing the
“DETECT SENSORS” s c r een, press the test button on the base of your sensor (see
diagram) to add it to the list of detected sensors. When the sensor listing
appears, click “N E X T” on the bottom right corner of the page to go to Page 2:
C o n f i g u re Sensors. Click the drop-down menu to select the sensor, then click
“EDIT CONFIGURAT I O N” to make any desired changes. Click “N E X T” to
complete set-up and save your changes.
STEP 2: NOT I F I C A TION SET UP
When Software Set up on your PC is complete, click X A N B O O . C O M to access your
personal Xanboo.com account on the Internet and log on. Click “C O N T R O L
PA N E L”and then “N O T I F I C AT I O N S ”. A list of your connected Xanboo accessory
devices will appear. Locate your Door/Window Sensor; click “E D I T
N O T I F I C AT I O N” and then “C R E A TE NEW N O T I F I C AT I O N”. From the choices in
the drop-down menu, select your pre f e r red notification method, i.e., e-mail,
p a g e r , text messaging cell phone or PDA and the appropriate pager/PIN number
or e-mail address. To add or edit notification information, select “MY ACCOUNT”
then click “CHANGE NOTIFICATION NUMBERS”.
STEP 3: HARDWARE INST A L L AT I O N
Peel the paper strip from double-sided tape located on the back of the sensor and
the contact strip (see diagram). If you are monitoring a door, attach the contact
strip to the door edge. Align the sensor with the contact strip on the opposite
side of the opening (see diagram). The spacing between the sensor and
contact strip should be between 1/10 in. and 1 in. When the door opens or
is left ajar, the magnetic field between the sensor and contact strip is
