Filter Replacement:

The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this water filter are not necessarily in all users’ water.

Filter life depends on local water conditions and the volume of water used. We recommend you change the 2321005 filter every 6 months. However, it can be replaced earlier if there is a drop in water pressure.

Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.

Systems certified for Cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. EPA Establishment #070595-CT-001.

Filter Cartridge Replacement Instructions:

NOTE: Before changing cartridge, turn off or bypass incoming water supply. Place a bucket under filter to catch the small amount of water that will run out after housing removal.

1.Shut off water by turning valve on filter head to the “OFF” or “BYPASS” position.

2.Unscrew housing and remove old cartridge. Wash housing thoroughly with mild soap and water.

3.Insert new cartridge and re-install housing. Be sure cartridge is seated in the housing before tightening onto head.

4.Use filter wrench to fully seat the cartridge. Tighten to make a water tight seal.

5.Turn on water by turning valve on filter head to the “FILTER” position. If any leaks appear, tighten housing as needed.

6.Flush system for five (5) minutes.

Troubleshooting Guide

Water Leaks at Threaded Fittings:

Tighten slightly more until leak stops

Water leaks at Push-in Connections:

Refer to section “Using Push-In Fittings”

Push pipe in as far as it will go. If leaking continues, shut off water at the incoming valve and remove water line by pushing in on the connector collar while pulling the tubing away. Inspect pipe for cracks and scratches. If pipe is cracked or scratched, simply cut that portion away and reinsert pipe into fitting.

WHOLE HOUSE PREFILTRATION SYSTEM WARRANTY

ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

For one year from the date of purchase if the WHOLE HOUSE PREFILTRATION SYSTEM fails when operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Whirlpool México S.A. de C.V. will repair or, at our option, replace your WHOLE HOUSE PREILTRATION SYSTEM. Your replacement unit is covered by our one year limited warranty. This warranty does not cover the filter included in your system. Use of a nonWhirlpool México S.A. de C.V. specified filter will invalidate this warranty. Keep this book and your sales receipt together for future reference. You must provide proof of purchase or installation date for in-warranty service.

Whirlpool México S.A. de C.V. will not pay for:

1.Service calls to instruct you on how to use your WHOLE HOUSE PREFILTRATION SYSTEM or to replace owner accessible water filters.

2.Replacement when your WHOLE HOUSE PREFILTRATION SYSTEM is used in other than normal, single-family household use.

3.Damage resulting from accident, alteration, misuse, abuse, fire, floods, acts of God, improper installation, installation not in accordance with local plumbing codes, or use of products not approved by Whirlpool México S.A. de C.V.

4.Replacement parts, repair labor costs and/or replacement of a “failed” WHOLE HOUSE

PREFILTRATION SYSTEM for units operated outside México

5.Repairs to parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to the appliance.

6.Shipping or freight charges to return products for warranty service to Whirlpool México S.A. de C.V.

7.Damage resulting from improper packing of products returned for warranty service.

8.Damages created by insects and/or animals such as rats, cockroaches, etc.

If you reside in México and your UNDER SINK MAIN FAUCET FILTRATION SYSTEM should fail within the first year of ownership:

1.Call our Whirlpool Service at 01 800 8 300 400 (toll free), 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday (CST). The Whirlpool Service operations are based in Antigua Carretera a Roma Km. 9, Colonia Milagro, Apodaca, N.L. México, C.P. 66600, Ph. (81)8329-21-00, where you can find accessories and original parts and where the consumer can validate their product warranty, which is consistent with other Whirlpool Service locations throughout Mexico.

2.Give the consultant your complete model and serial numbers.

3.The consultant will identify the designated service center nearest your location.

4.You will be responsible for insurance and freight or other transportation to our service center. Please include your name and address on a piece of paper along with a copy of the proof of purchase (register receipt, credit card charge slip, etc.) The UNDER SINK MAIN FAUCET FILTRATION SYSTEM should be properly packaged to avoid damage in transit since we will not responsible for any such damage.

5.Whirlpool México S.A. de C.V. will return the repaired unit, or at our option, an identical or

comparable UNDER SINK MAIN FAUCET FILTRATION SYSTEM to your door free of charge.

WHIRLPOOL MEXICO S.A. DE C.V. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

Some states or provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state or province to province.

This warranty applies just in Mexico. Contact your authorized Whirlpool dealer to determine if another warranty applies.

Tools and Parts Needed:

Gather the required tools before starting installation. Read and follow the instructions provided with any tools listed here.

• Teflon® Tape

• Adjustable Wrench

Installation Requirements:

Properly tighten all fittings to ensure a leak-free assembly.

Filter Housing is intended for use on cold water line.

Install in a location that is not susceptible to freezing temperatures as damage to the housing could occur.

Install away from direct sunlight as prolonged exposure to light can weaken plastic components.

Allow a minimum of 2” (5,1 cm) clear space below unit to facilitate filter change.

Some local codes may require the use of a licensed plumber or certified installer when disrupting a potable water line. Determine and follow any and all local codes and requirements.

Pipe and filter need to be properly supported.

Installation Instructions

For Use With Cold Water Only

1.Shut off main water supply. Drain water from water lines.

2.Remove clear housing from filter head and set aside.

3.Wrap Teflon® tape (2 1/2 wraps) around the 3/4” MNPT x 1/2” (1,27 cm) fitting for copper pipe in a clockwise direction (see Figure 1) and firmly assemble into fitler head. Do not use pipe sealant (dope), as solvents in some types of pipe dope may cause damage to plastic fittings. Do not overtighten, overtightening can cause damage to fitler head.

4. Calculate proper spacing of components (approximately 3/4” (1,91 cm) of existing pipe inserts into each fitting). (See Figure 2.)

5.Cut pipe and clean ends of pipe. Ensure there are no burrs, sharp edges or deep scratches.

6.Referring to “Using Push-In Fittings” section, insert pipe into filter head fitting making sure end of pipe is firmly seated to backstop. Connect pipe from water supply to “IN” port. (See Figure 3.)

7.Repeat Step 6 for the pipe leading from the “OUT” port to the house. It may be necessary to carefully spread pipe apart in order to connect pipes. Keep filter head horizontal.

8.Lubricate housing o-ring with water. Firmly screw housing, with filter inside, to filter head. Tighten with wrench to seal properly.

9.Turn filter head valve to “FILTER” mode (see Figure 4) and slowly turn on main water supply and check for leaks. Run water for 5 minutes with an open faucet to flush out air.
