IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid. Do not operate knife in water or under running water.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning. Disconnect when changing blades.
5. Avoid contacting moving parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact Consumer Service for examination, repair or electri­cal or mechanical adjustment.
7. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
10. Do not let cord contact hot surface, including the stove.
11. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Always handle blades with hand away from cutting edge. Always store blades with cutting edge away from you.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1. All users of this appliance must read and understand this Owner’s Manual before operating or cleaning this appliance.
2. The cord to this appliance should be plugged into a 120V AC electrical outlet only.
3. Keep the appliance out of reach of children when not in use.
4. If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, immediately release the Power Switch and unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning appliance.
5. IF this appliance falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water! Do not use this appliance after it has fallen into or becomes immersed in water.
6. To reduce the risk of injury to persons or property, never use this appliance in an unstable position.
7. Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
1. Carefully unpack the Electric Knife.
2. Make sure the unit is unplugged and then wipe all surfaces with a slightly damp, soft cloth and dry thoroughly. Never immerse the Electric Knife in water or any other liquid. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads or abrasive cleansers as they will damage the finish.
CAUTION: Blades are very sharp; keep hands away from cut­ting edges. Always hold the Blades with the serrated edges away from you.
3. Remove the Protective Sleeve from both sets of Blades. Save Protective Sleeve for Blade storage.
4. The blades are extremely sharp. Always handle by the side opposite the cutting edge, or by the blade guards.
5. Wash both sets of Blades in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
6. If blades are separated, slide the rivet on one blade into the keyhole slot in the other blade until they are locked together. NOTE: When connecting the blades, make sure not to mix blade types.
7. To protect against accidental injury, slide Protective Sleeves back on Blades when not in use.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. For your protection, the Power Switch has a Safety Lock. To operate, plug in and slide the Safety Lock Peg to the unlock position; depress the Power Switch and Knife will be in full operation. When you are finished carving, return the Safety Lock Peg to the locked position and unplug. Knife will only operate when the Safety Lock Peg is in the unlocked position.
2. Place Knife directly on food to be carved. Press the Power Switch, and the Knife will begin to slice. Guide the Knife in the direction you wish to slice. There is no need to apply any pressure; the Knife will do the work. It is best to use a cutting board when carving food with the Electric Knife to avoid scratching or chipping plates. Do not attempt to cut through frozen foods.
CAUTION: Never insert or remove Blades while Knife is still plugged in.
CAUTION: Always hold the Blades with the serrated edges away from you.
HOW TO INSERT BLADES
1. Attach the two Blades together by inserting the Rivet on one Blade into the Slot on the other and sliding them together. Be sure the Protective Thumb Guards are lined up evenly.
2. Grasp the top of the Knife Blades with the serrated edges away from you, and insert the Blades into the Slot in the Handle. Push both Blades in until you hear them click into place. Remove Protective Cover.
HOW TO ATTACH SLICING GUIDE
1. Turn off and unplug unit from the electrical outlet. To avoid injury from sharp Blade edges, place Protective Cover over Serrated Blades.
2. Insert the Bar of the Slicing Guide into the oval hole at the front of the Power Handle, as shown in FIGURE 3. Push Guide slowly into place, making sure attachment is securely tightened. Rounded edge of Slicing Guide should be parallel with serrated side of Blades.
3. Adjust Slicing Guide: Adjust the thickness of food slices by pushing the Guide closer to, or farther from, the Knife Blades.
4. Remove Protective Cover. Plug in, unlock and depress the Power Switch to begin slicing.
TO DETACH THE SLICING GUIDE
1. Turn off unit and unplug from electrical outlet. Grasp the Slicing Guide firmly and slowly pull out from unit.
NOTE: Serrated Blades are sharp; use caution when attaching and detaching Slicing Guide.

HOW TO REMOVE BLADES
CAUTION: Always unplug Electric Knife before removing Blades. Blades are sharp; handle carefully. Always hold the Blades with the serrated edges away from you.
1. Unplug from electrical outlet.
2. Grasp top of the Knife Blades, making sure serrated edges are fac­ing away from you, and press the Blade EJECT Button.
3. Then carefully pull the Blades from the Handle.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require additional lubrication for the life of the unit. It contains no user serviceable parts. Any servicing requiring disassembly must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician.
While using, untwist cord from time to time to avoid tangling.
CARE AND CLEANING
CAUTION: Do not immerse Power Handle, Cord, or Plug in water or any other liquid.
1. Unplug unit. Remove Blades from the Power Handle before washing. Separate Blades by sliding the Rivet of one Blade out of the Slot of the other Blade.
WARNING! Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Always han­dle Blades with hand away from cutting edge. Always store Blades with cutting edge away from you.
2. Wash the Blades in warm, soapy water. Blades may also be washed in a dishwasher. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Carefully slide the Protective Sleeve onto the Knife Blades.
3. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe Handle surface. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the Handle.
STORAGE
Unplug appliance, and store in its box or in a clean, dry place. Store Knife Blades in the Protective Cover. Never wrap the Cord tightly around the appliance. Do not put any stress on the Cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the Cord to fray and break.

LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY
Warranty Coverage: This product is warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original pur­chase date. This product warranty is extended only to the original con­sumer purchaser of the product and is not transferable. For a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase of the product, our Repair Center will, at its option, either (1) repair the product or (2) replace the product with a reconditioned comparable model. These remedies are the purchaser's exclusive remedies under this warranty. Warranty Service: To obtain warranty service, you must call our warranty service number at 1-800-233-9054 for return instructions on how to deliver the product, in either the original packaging or packaging affording an equal degree of protection to the Repair Center specified below. You must enclose a copy of your sales receipt or other proof of purchase to demon­strate eligibility for warranty coverage.

What Is Not Covered: This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accident, commercial use, improper service or any other damage caused by anything other than defects in material or workmanship during ordinary consumer use. This warranty is invalid if the serial number has been altered or removed from the product. This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada.
