2. Safety Instructions
2.1 General
For your own safety, the safety of your patients, and to
comply with the requirements of the directive
93/42/EEC, please observe the following points:
•Please read these operating instructions through
carefully. They are a part of the unit and must be
available at all times.
•Before using the mains charger FW7405M/14
you must understand how to operate it.
•The mains charger FW7405M/14 should only
be used for the intended purpose described (see
"1.1 Intended purpose" on page 4).
•Only have repair work carried out by Weinmann
or specialist staff.
•Please do not use the unit if damaged. Cables,
plugs and housings must be in perfect condition.
•Please observe the general safety provisions for
handling electrical equipment.
•Always disconnect the power plug by removing
the plug from the socket and not by pulling on the
cable.
•Malfunctions and a lack of biocompatibility may
result if third-party articles are used. Please bear in
mind that in these cases any warranty entitlement
and liability shall lapse where the accessories recommended in the operating instructions or original
spare parts are not used.

3.1 Weinmann units
The mains charger FW7405M/14 can be used to
operate the following Weinmann units with the optimal
supply and charging voltage:

4. Operation
4.1 Start-up

1.Connect the power supply cable 6 to the socket 4
of the mains charger FW7405M/14.
2.Then insert the power plug 5 in a mains socket.
Note: Illumination of the pilot lamp 2 indicates that
the required DC voltage of 13.8 V has been generated.
3.Select the right connecting cable from (see "3. Unit
Combinations" on page 7).
4.Insert the appropriate end of the connecting cable
in the coupling 3 of the mains charger.
5.Connect the other end to the unit to be supplied.

5. Hygiene Treatment
Caution! Do not allow
moisture to enter the unit.
If necessary, e.g. after exceptional soiling, you can
also disinfect the housing, output line and power supply cable. Please observe the instructions provided for
the disinfectant used. We recommend that you wear
suitable gloves when disinfecting the unit (e.g. household or disposable gloves).
Unit
The housing, output line and power supply cable of the
charger FW7405M/14 are cleaned by being simply
wiped over with disinfectant. We recommend
TERRALIN for this purpose.
6. Functional Check
Each time before use
•Insert the power plug in the mains socket.
•Check that the pilot lamp is lit up.
•If it is not lit up, remove the power plug from the
mains socket and have the unit repaired (see "7.
Troubleshooting" on page 10).
•Please check the entire unit for damage. The housing, cable and plug should not be damaged.
If you notice damage to the unit, have this rectified
by Weinmann .

11. Warranty
•Weinmann offers a warranty that the product, when used in accordance with requirements, will remain free from defects for a period of two years from date of
purchase. For products whose durability is clearly indicated as less than two years,
the warranty expires on the expiration date indicated on the packaging or in the
user’s manual.
•Claims against the warranty can be made only when accompanied by the sales
receipt, which must show salesperson and date of purchase.
•We offer no warranty in the case of:
–Disregard of usage instructions
–Operating errors
–Improper use or handling
–Third-party intervention by non-authorized persons for the purpose of device
repair
–Acts of God, e.g., lightning strikes, etc.
–Transport damage as a result of improper packaging of returned items
–Lack of maintenance
–Operational and normal wear and tear, which includes, for example, the fol-
lowing components.

– Batteries or non-rechargeable batteries

•Weinmann is not liable for consequential harm caused by a defect if it is not based on intention or gross negligence. Weinmann is also not liable for minor physical injury to life or limb resulting from negligence.
•Weinmann reserves the right to decide whether to eliminate defects, to deliver a
defect-free item or to reduce the purchase price by a reasonable amount.
•If Weinmann rejects a claim against the warranty, it assumes no expense for transport between customer and manufacturer.
•Implied warranty claims remain unaffected by these changes.
