Q: Is there a maintenance kit for Ultra Gas boilers?
and 310. Both kits include a new igniter and gasket, heat exchang er co v er-plate insulation and gasket, burner gasket, cork gasket for gas valve-venturi,
and flue sensor gasket.
Q: What is the difference between direct vent boilers and direct exhaust boilers?
A: Direct vent boilers operate with a sealed vent pipe, and an intake pipe for combustion air. Examples are Ultra Gas, GV, CGs, Ultra Oil dir ect v ent. Direct
exhaust boilers operate with a sealed vent pipe and utilize combustion air from inside the boiler room. The CGi is a direct exhaust boiler. The GV and CGs
may be either direct vent or direct exhaust.
Q: Can I use 2” PVC to vent an Ultra Gas boiler?
A: Yes, the Ultra 80 and 105, Series 3 boiler is now approv ed for use with 2” v ent when the v ent length is less than 30 feet. Consult the boiler manual
for information.
Q: If I use a new HydroStat aquastat (381-356-530) on an older oil boiler , will I have the low water cutoff function?
A: The HydroStat will work on any oil boiler, but will not hav e the low water cutoff function unless the well is changed to the HydroStat Electro-Well.
Weil-McLain part number for the HydroStat Electro-Well. is 592-300-026 for water boilers or 592-300-027 for water boilers with tankless heaters.
Q: Can I use the Ultra Series 3 with a 3 zone circulator system?
A: The Ultra Series 3 “U-Control” can control 3 circulators. One circulator MUST be the boiler circulator, so only two circulators connections remain.
One may be used for domestic and the other for a zone, or both may be used for 2 separate zones. If more circulator connections are required a
circulator controller would be needed.
