Description
The Watts 3⁄8" (10mm) compression fitting thermostatic mix ing valve
maintains and limits hot water to desired se lect able temperature
between 80°F and 120°F (27°C and 49°C) and with flow rates as low
as 0.5 gpm (1.9 lpm) and as high as 2.5 gpm (9.5 lpm). The mix ing
valve is NSF 61 Certified. The USG-P se ries uses a dou ble throt tling
de sign to con trol both the hot and cold wa ter sup ply to the mixed
outlet. The superior flow char ac ter is tics of this valve pro vides accurate
tem per a ture con trol (±3°F) with low pres sure drop. As an add ed feature, the USG-P-M1 in cor po rates dual check valves to pro tect against
cross-flow and integral screens to filter out debris. A cap is provided
for three port application.
Temperature Adjustment
1. Loosen the cap screw with the
hex wrench pro vid ed.
2. As a safety feature the cap
must be partially lifted from the
valve to adjust temperature.
3. With the faucet turned on and
in the full hot position, adjust
the setting of the valve to
obtain the desired outlet water
temperature. Turn clockwise to
decrease temperature.
4. Lower handle and tighten
screw.
5. Check outlet temperature.
Note: The hot water should be allowed to flow for two or three minutes prior to adjusting the valve set ting in order to have the hottest
inlet tem per a ture flow ing through the valve.

Applications
The unit is intended for under sink installation to con trol the hot water
temperature and prevent ac ci den tal scalding. The water temperature must
be ad just ed by the installer using a thermometer to mea sure the hot water
temperature at the faucet outlet. Maximum tem per a ture of 110°F (43°C) is
rec om mend ed.
Application Note
Delivery of water to fixtures intended for use in bath ing or wash ing
should always be controlled by valves listed to ASSE Stan dard 1016 or
ASSE Standard 1070 such as Watts Series USG, MMV, or L111 mix ing
valves.
These valves provide the user with both scald protection and pro tection from thermal shock. These valves should always be ad just ed after
installation to de sired temperature.

• Shut off supply valves and remove
existing pip ing to faucet.
• Connect the USG-P-M1 to the supply
valves and the faucet.
• Turn on the supply valves.
Note: When using copper tubing, tubing

the compression fer rule.

Descripción
La válvula de emp alme de compresión para mezcla termostática
Watts de 10 mm (3⁄8 pulg.) mantiene y limita el agua caliente en la
temperatura seleccionable deseada entre 27 °C y 49 °C
(80 °F y 120 °F) y con caudales desde 1 ,9 lpm (0,5 gpm) hasta 9,5
lpm (2,5 gpm). La válvula para mezcla tiene l a certificación NSF
61. La serie USG- P usa un diseño de doble regulación del caudal
para controlar el suministro de agua tanto fría como caliente en la
salida de la mezc la. Las características superiores de caudal en esta
válvula proporcionan un control de temperatura preciso de ±1,6 ºC
(±3 °F) con poca caída de presión. Como carac terística adicional, la
USG-P-M1 incorpora válv ulas de verificación dobles para proteger
contra el flujo t ransversal y rejillas integrales para filtrar residuos. Se
proporciona una tapa para la aplicación con tres puertos.
Ajuste de temperatura
1. Afloje el tornillo de la tapa
con la llave hexagonal que se
proporciona.
2. Como característica de
seguridad, la tapa debe
levantarse parcialmente de
la válvula para ajustar la
temperatura.
3. Con el grifo abierto y en la
posición completamente
caliente, ajuste la configuración de la válvula para obtener la
temperatura de salida del agua deseada. Gire hacia la derecha
para disminuir la temperatura.
4. Baje el monomando y ajuste el tornillo.
5. Verifique la temperatura de salida.
Nota: Debe permitir que el agua caliente fluya durante dos o tres
minutos antes de ajustar la configuración de la válvula para tener la
temperatura de entrada más caliente fluyendo a través de la válvula.

La unidad está diseñada para instalarse debajo del fregadero para controlar
la temperatura del agua caliente y prevenir quemaduras accidentales.
La temperatura del agua debe ser ajustada por el instalador con un
termómetro para medir la temperatura del agua caliente en la salida del
grifo. Se recomienda una temperatura máxima de 43 °C (110 °F).
Nota acerca de la aplicación
La llegada del agua a los accesorios diseñados para lavar o bañarse
siempre debe estar controlada por válvulas que cumplan con el estándar
1016 ó 1070 de ASSE, como las válvulas para mezclar Watts serie USG,
MMV o L111.
Estas válvulas le proporcionan al usuario protección contra las quemaduras
y contra el choque térmico. Estas válvulas deben ajustarse siempre
después de la instalación a la temperatura deseada.
Instalaciones típicas

Description
Le régulateur thermostatique à raccord de compression Watts de
10 mm (3⁄8 po) maintient et limite l’eau chaude à la température
désirée, soit entre 27 °C et 49 °C (80 °F et 120 °F) avec un débit aussi
bas que 1,9 lpm (0,5 gpm) et aussi élevé que 9,5 lpm (2,5 gpm). Le
régulateur est certifié NSF 61. La série USG-P utilise un étranglement
double conçu pour contrôler l’approvisionnement en eau chaude et en
eau froide à la sortie. Le débit supérieur de ce régulateur permet un
contrôle précis de la température (±1,6 °C ou ±3 °F) avec une faible
chute de pression. Comme attribut supplémentaire, le USG-P-M1
comprend un clapet de non-retour double comme protection contre
les débits croisés et des écrans intégrés destinés à filtrer les résidus. Il
comporte un capuchon pour une application à trois orifices.
Réglage de la
température
1. Desserrez la vis à chapeau
avec la clé hexagonale fournie.
2. Comme dispositif de sécurité,
on doit soulever partiellement
le capuchon du régulateur
pour ajuster la température.
3. Le robinet complètement ouvert
à la position chaude, ajustez
le régulateur pour obtenir la
bonne température d’eau de
sortie. Tournez dans le sens horaire pour diminuer la température.
4. Abaisser la poignée et serrer la vis.
5. Vérifier la température à la sortie.
Remarque : Laissez couler l’eau chaude pendant deux à trois
minutes avant d’ajuster le régulateur de manière à ce que l’eau
d’entrée qui circule dans celui-ci soit la plus chaude possible.

Applications
L’appareil est conçu pour une installation sous l’évier pour contrôler
la température de l’eau chaude et prévenir des brûlures accidentelles.
La température de l’eau doit être ajustée par l’installateur à l’aide
d’un thermomètre afin de mesurer celle-ci à sa sortie du robinet. On
recommande une température maximale de 43 °C (110 °F).
Remarque relative à l’application
La distribution d’eau par des robinets destinés à être utilisés pour le bain
ou le lavage doit toujours être contrôlée par des régulateurs conformes aux
normes ASSE 1016 ou ASSE 1070 comme les séries USG, MMV ou L111
de Watts.
Ces régulateurs protègent l’utilisateur contre les brûlures et les chocs
thermiques. Ils doivent toujours être ajustés à la bonne température après
l’installation.
Installations types

des robinets.
• Fermez les soupapes d’alimentation
d’eau et retirez la tuyauterie reliée au
robinet.
• Branchez le USG-P-M1 aux soupapes
d’alimentation d’eau et au robinet.
• Ouvrez les soupapes d’alimentation.
Remarque : Lorsque vous utilisez une
tuyauterie en cuivre, celle-ci ne doit pas
dépasser la virole de compression de
plus de 5 mm (3⁄16 po).
