Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Alphabet Activity CubeTM learning toy!
The Alphabet Activity CubeTM is an interactive learning toy that has
ve sides of fun to discover! Little builders will love the 13 building blocks that also teach the alphabet. The blocks can be stacked on the top of the cube or they can be inserted into the slot on the electronic side to learn more about each letter. The electronic side also features ve piano keys, a number keypad, and telephone. Other sides feature fun mechanical elements such as a peg maze, put-and-take holes that lead to a storage area, sliders, gears, a mirror and more! Learning has never been so much fun!

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the electronic side of the cube. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 2 new ‘AA’ (AM-3/LR6) batteries followi n g the di agram in side th e battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.
BATTERY NOTICE
• Use new alkaline batteries for maximum performance.
• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent ty p e a s recommended.
• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon­zinc) or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH), or new and used batteries.
• Do not use damaged batteries.
• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
• Do not dispose of batteries in re.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
With the VTech®Alphabet Activity CubeTM, safety comes rst. To ensure your child’s safety, please only allow an adult to assemble this product.
Attach the bead track for the Alphabet Activity CubeTM to the cube by inserting the track into the slots on the cube. You will hear it click into place. Please ensure the track is attached securely to the cube. Once the bead track has been attached, it cannot be removed.

To turn the unit ON, slide the Mode
Selector to the Learning Mode ( ) or the Play Mode ( ) position. To turn the
unit OFF, slide the Mode Selector to the OFF ( ) position.
2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To adjust the volume, slide the
VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the HIGH VOLUME ( ) position.

3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Alphabet Activity CubeTM will
automatically power-down after approximately 45 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.
ACTIVITIES
1. Slide the Mode Selector to turn on the unit. You will hear a sing-along song, a phrase and a sound effect in Learning Mode. In Play Mode, you will hear a sing­along song, a phrase and a short tune. The lights will ash with the sounds.
2. Press the shapes with sounds, phrases and short tunes in Learning Mode. In Play Mode, you will hear piano notes. The lights will ash with the sounds.
3. Press the to learn numbers and animals through related sound effects and phrases in Learning Mode. In Play Mode, you can press those buttons for pretend-call fun with sound effects, phrases and music. The lights will ash with the sounds.

4. Pick up the Handset to hear a phone sound and directions to pr ess the Number/Animal Buttons to make calls in Learning Mode. In Play Mode, you will hear phone sounds and say hello to the animals on the Number/Animal Buttons to enhance calling fun. The lights will ash with the sounds.
5. Put down the both modes. The lights will ash with the sounds.
6. Insert the with sing-along songs, sounds, phrases and short tunes in both modes. The lights will ash with the sounds.

8. While a melody is playing, activate the motion sensor to jam sound effects in both modes. During this time in Play Mode, press the Piano Keys to play the melody one note at a time. The lights will ash with the sounds.
9. Drop the holes on the put-and-take side of the cube. The blocks will slide to the bigger hole, which also serves as a storage area.
10. Explore the activity center side of the cube. Slide the bird, ower and window, ip the buttery’s wing and turn the gears to build ne motor skills. Look in the sunny mirror!

12. In Play Mode: If the Number/Animal Buttons have not been pressed and then the unit sits idle for approximately 8 seconds, you will hear phone ringing sounds. If there is no input for another 8 seconds, you will hear a sing-along song. If there is no input for another 8 seconds, you will hear a sound effect, a phrase and a short tune. If there is still no input for another 8 seconds, you will hear a closing short tune, and the unit will go into sleep mode. The unit can be re-activated by pressing any button.
13. In Learning Mode: If the pressed and then the unit sits idle for approximately 8 seconds, you will hear phone ringing sounds. If there is no input for another 8 seconds, you will hear a sound effect and an instruction to insert a block if there is no block inserted. If a block is already inserted, you will hear a sound effect and a sing-along song. If there is no input for another 8 seconds, you will hear a short tune and a phrase. If there is still no input for another 8 seconds, you will hear a closing short tune, and the unit will go into sleep mode. The unit can be re-activated by pressing any button.

2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new batteries.
