Centering Screws
The windage and elevation centering screws can be used to
help center the red dot in the VMX3s field of view. After the
VMX3 is mounted in front of red dot scope, the dot may seem
off-centered while viewing through the VMX3. This will not
affect the point-of-impact. If desired, the centering screws can
be used to move the dot up/down or left/right until the dot is
more centered. Do not force screws once resistance is felt and the
end-of-travel range has been reached.

Note: Perfectly centering the red dot in the VMX3 is not required for
accuracy. Once the primary red dot optic has been sighted in using its own
adjustments, adjustments done to the VMX3 using the centering screws
will not affect the point-of-impact.

Mounting the VMX3 Magnifier
The VMX3 may be mounted using the included 30mm high
ring or any other mount designed for a 30mm main tube.
The included 30mm extra high ring will mount the VMX3
at the same height as a red dot scope mounted for an
absolute co-witness with the standard height iron sights on
the AR15. If using an aftermarket mount, select a height
that will match the optic center of the VMX3 to the optic
center of the red dot sight being used.
To mount using the included ring:
1. Loosen 6 screws on ring until 30mm barrel of VMX3 can be
slid into the ring.
2. Slide the barrel of the
VMX3 all the way into the
ring until rubber armoring
is flush with the ring.
3. Rotate VMX3 until
centering screws are located
on top and right side of the magnifier when the ring base with
cross-bolt is on the bottom side.
The VMX3 and ring can then be mounted to any Picatinny or
Weaver type base rail. If your firearm is not equipped with
a Picatinny/Weaver rail, these are readily available for most
firearms.
Positioning the VMX3 and ring:
1. Position the VMX3 and ring on a base rail slot behind the red
dot sight which allows 1–2 inches of eye relief (applications on
heavy recoiling firearms should allow additional eye relief). Be sure
there is at least ¼-inch of clearance between the objective end of the VMX3
and the ocular end of the red dot sight.
2. Be sure that the ring crossbolt is fully engaged in the base rail
slot, then push down and forward and hand tighten the crossbolt
nut. For temporary use of the VMX3, hand tightening may be fi ne; for more permanent mounts, a wrench should be used to tighten the crossbolt nut.
4. Tighten the six ring screws in a criss-cross pattern until tight.

Maintenance
Cleaning
The VMX3 magnifier will require very little routine
maintenance other than periodically cleaning the exterior
lenses. Be sure to blow away any dust or grit on the lenses
prior to wiping the surfaces. Using your breath, or a very
small amount of water or pure alcohol, can help remove
stubborn things like dried water spots.
When cleaning the lenses, be sure to use products that are
specifically designed for use on coated optical lenses such as
the Vortex Lens Pen and FogFree Cleaning Kits.
If desired, the magnifier’s exterior may be cleaned by
wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
Lubrication
All components of the VMX3 are permanently lubricated, so
no additional lubricant should be applied.
Note: Do not attempt to disassemble any components of the VMX3.
Storage
If possible, avoid long term storage of the VMX3 exposed
to direct sunlight or any very hot location. Over time,
prolonged high temperatures can adversely affect internal
lubricants.
