KYLIN E
Congratulations on your purchase of a Skyline
TM
spotting scope. The Skyline is an amazing scope for
pulling fine details out of hazy scenes and shadowy
woodlands.
Optical Quality.
The Skyline will impress you with its optical excellence,
featuring Broadband fully multi-coated optics for bright,
detailed images.
Caution:
Spotting scopes are not intended for looking at the sun, or any
TM
other intense light source. Such viewing could damage the retina
and cornea of your eyes—even to the point of causing blindness.

Rugged Design.
The polycarbonate body of the Skyline provides
extraordinary strength and durability in the field. O-ring
sealed and nitrogen purged for complete waterproof, fog
proof protection, the Skyline can handle the most extreme
weather conditions.
Using the Skyline Spotting Scope
Attaching the spotting scope to a tripod
Mount the Skyline spotting scope on a sturdy tripod or
car window mount for steady viewing. Simply secure the

Adjustable 20–60x zoom eyepiece
The Skyline features a versatile 20–60x eyepiece that brings
distant details into view.
Refocusing is normally
required when you change the
magnification.
• Increase magnification by turning the
adjustment ring to the left (counter-clockwise).
• Decrease magnification by turning the
adjustment ring to the right (clockwise).
Dual focus dial
The Skyline allows fine-tuning for fatigue-free viewing.
• Slowly turn the coarse
focus dial until the subject
is nearly in focus.
• Turn the fine focus dial to
capture all the details.
Extendable sunshade
This fitted lens hood acts as an effective shield against stray
light. It also helps keep the
objective lens free of soiling
caused by raindrops or
fingerprints.
Caring for the Lenses
Maintain the optical brilliance of the Skyline spotting scope by
keeping the lens surfaces free of dirt, dust, and oils.
Protect Lenses While Out in the Field.
Make use of the case, tethered objective lens cover and eyepiece
cover to protect the Skyline spotting
scope.
Keep Lenses Clean.
Along with normal use comes the need
to clean the spotting scope lenses.
Follow these guidelines for cleaning:
1. Remove any dust or grit from lenses before wiping.
Use a can of pressurized air or soft camel hair brush
(acrylic optical brushes also work well).
2. Clear lens of smudges, fingerprints, or eyelash oil.
Fog the lenses with your own breath and wipe with the
non-abrasive lens cloth included with the Skyline spotting
scope.
Other cleaning options:
Cleaning fluid and optical paper can also be used. However, you should
never use facial tissue, heavy cotton, or flannel clothing on lenses—
these materials can scratch the lens surfaces.
