BUILDING IN THE MODULE
Choose an installation spot which will be easily accessible for the IR waves. The IR receiver module can be built-in in combination with t wo blank frames VMBFBI and a Velbus cover plate
VMBFDG or VMBFLG. Push the modules f r om the back i nto t he cover plate. The module must be pushed into the build-in frame from the front.
It is also possible to use a 2- or 3-module wide frame with cover plate fr om the BTicino Living series. The module must be pushed into the build-in frame from the front.
It is also possible to use a 2- or 3-module wide frame with cover plate fr om the BTicino Light or Light Tech series. The module must be pushed into the build-in frame from the front.
To build the sensor in into a hollow wall, use a hollow wall pattress.

CONNECTION
To interconnect the Velbus modules it is recommended t o use a twisted- pair cable (EIB 2x2x0.8mm², UTP 4x2x0.51mm² - CAT5 or equivalent). Make sure to use a heavy-gauge wir e ( 0.5mm

or more) in case of a multiple module connection (>10 modules) or with log connections (>50m). Connect the bus to the m odule (mind the polarity).
Termination
Generally, only 2 ‘TERM’ terminators must be used in a complete Velbus module inside the distribution box and on the module whic h is physic ally located furthest f r om the distr ibution box.
On all other modules, t he terminator must be removed.
Remark: In case of a wiring with multiple branches, only place a termination into a single module in the di stri bution box and in the control panel which is the farthest from the distribution box. When communication problems occur, you can place an extr a termi nation on another branch. It is highly rec ommended to limit the number of terminations as too large a number may overload the bus.

USE
Use the Logitech configuration software to configure the universal remote control from the Harm ony series and to label the pushbuttons.
The receiver module is integrated into the Velbus system. Eight channels can be progr am med with actions allowing the switching on and off of relay channels, t he dimming of lighting, t he opening and closing of blinds, etc. Furthermor e, up t o 32 pushbuttons from your Velbus install ation can be simulated. Configurati on of those is done through the Velbuslink sof tware.
Address:
Each module in the Velbus connect ion must have a unique address. Configure the address through the software. The local pushbutt on m ay be used for the module identification.
Channel name:
The first 8 channels can be labelled (max. 16 characters) through the V elbuslink software. Labelling a pushbutton may help you to confi gur e the actions (relay, dimmer and bli nd contr ol, etc.).
Reaction time:
The reaction time allows how long a pushbutton must be depressed bef or e the action is executed. The reaction time can be programm ed at 1, 2 or 3 seconds.
Hint: Program a react ion time of 3 seconds for an “All off” channel.
Number of channels:
Every singl e channel c an be activ ated or deactivated in order to pr ogr am the num ber of used channels.
Hint: The deact ivation of the first 8 channels implies that t he indic ation LEDs will only be used to indicate the status of the relays, dimmers, blinds, etc.
Actions:
Eight channels can be progr am med with actions allowing the switching on and off of relay channels, t he dimming of lighting, t he opening and closing of blinds, etc.
Hint: The deact ivation of the first 8 channels implies that t he indic ation LEDs will only be used to indicate the status of the relays, dimmers, blinds, etc. However, the channels must be pre-programmed with an action.
Pushbutton simulations:
The remaining 32 c hannels can be used to simulate the pushbuttons in your V elbus i nstallation. Choose the corresponding pushbutton for every singl e of those channel s. A ll actions attribut ed to those pushbutt ons will be executed when one of t he c hannels on the transmitter is activat ed.

CHECKING THE SOFTWARE VERSION
The software versi on c an be v erified via the Velbus link soft ware. Check on http://www.velbus.eu
Connect the Velbus interface to a PC and run the upgrade-software and follow the instructions on the screen.
Remark:
Upgrading a modul e is not without risk. Do not interrupt the process! If for any reason the upgrade shoul d fail, the module will cease norm al oper ation. The module will have to be returned to t he manufac turer.
whether you have the latest version. If a newer version is av ailable, download it.
