Installation Requirements
• 802.3 af 48V PoE or 5V/2A Micro-USB Adapter
• UniFi Controller or UniFi VoIP Controller
• Third-Party SIP/PBX Provider
TERMS OF USE: All Ethernet cabling runs must use CAT5 (or above). It is the customer’s responsibility to follow local country regulations and indoor cabling requirements.
Before You Begin
Remove the protective covering from the handset.
Remove the protective film from the touchscreen.

Volume
LED
Touchscreen The 4" (diagonal) touchscreen display is used for
all interface navigation and dialing.
Volume Use the volume arrows to adjust audio levels.
LED The LED will light when the device is first connected to
a power source. Once the phone has started up, the LED will turn off.
IMPORTANT: The LED will flash when a firmware update
is occurring. Do not disconnect power/Ethernet from the device during this time.
Back Ports
PoE/LAN PCUSB
USB The USB port can be used to power the UniFi VoiP
PhoneX using a 5V/2A Micro-USB adapter.
802.3af 48V PoE/LAN Connects data and power to the
phone. Can be powered by a PoE adapter or switch that supports 802.3af 48V PoE.
PC The Ethernet port labeled PC is used for bridging.
WARNING: Do not connect a powered Ethernet
connection to the port labeled PC.
Side Ports
Headset Jack 3.5 mm jack for optional wired stereo
and microphone headsets.

Mute
button
Mute Press the Mute button to mute the microphone on the
handset.
Hardware Installation
The UniFi VoIP Phone X is designed for desktop placement. To connect the phone, perform the following steps:
1. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the wall jack that is connected to your data network or service provider.
2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the port labeled PoE/LAN on the UniFi VoIP Phone X.

Powering the UniFi VoIP Phone X
The UniFi VoIP Phone X can be powered using either of the following methods:
Power over Ethernet Use a switch or PoE adapter that
supports 802.3af/48V PoE.
Micro-USB Adapter Use a 5V/2A Micro-USB adapter.
Power over Ethernet
If using PoE on a switch, ensure that the switch port connected to the UniFi VoIP Phone supports 802.3af/48V.
NOTE: We recommend using the UniFi Switch to power
your UniFi VoIP Phones.
Micro-USB Adapter
If using a Micro-USB adapter, plug the Micro-USB connector into the USB port on the UniFi VoIP Phone X and the power connector to a power outlet.
Software Configuration
The UniFi VoIP Phone X can be setup via three primary methods:
Auto-configuration by your service provider If your
phone was shipped to you by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider), follow the hardware installation instructions and the phone should automatically configure itself when connected.
Auto-configuration via DHCP Option 66 To automatically
configure UVPs on a Local Area Network, DHCP Option 66 can be used. Refer to: ubnt.link/dhcpoption66
Configuration using a Ubiquiti Controller The UniFi
VoIP Phone X can be used with the UniFi Controller or the UniFi VoIP Controller software. The phone is automatically detected by the Controller software.
NOTE: Ensure that you are using the latest version of the
Controller software. Earlier versions will not detect the UniFi VoIP Phone X.
Installing the Controller Software
If you haven’t already installed the Controller software or need to update to the latest version, you can download it at:

Adopting the Phone in the Controller Software
NOTE: The UniFi Controller software is shown but the
steps are the same using the UniFi VoIP Controller.
1. Launch the Controller software and go to the Devices tab.
2. Click Adopt.
