Installation Procedure for the

ASD-MTG-KIT9 and ASD-MTG-KIT-P9

The ASD may be controlled from a remotely-mounted Electronic Operator Interface (EOI).

The EOI can operate up to distances of up to 15 feet away from the ASD via the RS485 Port.

An EOI extender cable is required for remote mounting. Extender cables are available in lengths of 7, 10,
or 15 feet and may be ordered through your sales representative.

Required Remote-mount Hardware

• ASD-MTG-KIT9 Assy or the ASD-MTG-KIT-P9 Assy

• 10-32 Hex Nut — P/N 01922 (4 ea.)

• #10 Split-Lock Washer — P/N 01923 (4 ea.)

• #10 Flat Washer — P/N 01924 (4 ea.)

Extender Cables

• Cable, RJ45, 7 ft. — P/N ASD-CAB7F

• Cable, RJ45, 10 ft. — P/N ASD-CAB10F

• Cable, RJ45, 15 ft. — P/N ASD-CAB15F

Installation Precautions

Install the unit securely in a well ventilated area that is out of direct sunlight using the four mounting holes
of the ASD-MTG-KIT Assy. The ambient operating temperature of the EOI is 14 – 104° F (-10 – 40° C).

Read the and adhere to the Safety Precautions and Warnings of the Installation and
Operation Manual of the ASD being used.

If not mounting the EOI on the door of the ASD:

• Select a mounting location that is easily accessible by the user.

• Avoid installation in areas where vibration, heat, humidity, dust, metal particles, or high levels of
electrical noise (EMI) are present.

• Do not install the EOI where it may be exposed to flammable chemicals or gasses, water, solvents, or
other fluids.

• Turn the power on only after securing the front cover or securing the door of the ASD.

Display Module/EOI Removal and Installation

Note: See Figures 1 and 2 on pg. 2 and the Installation and Operation Manual of the ASD

being used for further information on removing/installing the LCD display module.

1. Remove the LCD display module from the EOI of the ASD.

2. Install the Connector Module onto the ASD.



When installing the connector module or the display module into the EOI housing ensure that the
left side of the display is inserted first with the top and bottom catches securely in place (see

Phillips screws at underside of display). This ensures the proper alignment and electrical
connection of the CNX connector of the LCD display module PCB. Then gently hold the display in
place while securing the Phillips mounting screw.



If improperly seated, the periphery of the module will not be flush with the module housing surface
and the unit will not function properly.

3. At the Remote EOI mounting location, identify and mark the locations of the 4.56” by 4.44” hole
and the four 11/32” screw holes (see

4. Cut the 4.56” by 4.44” rectangular hole.

5. Drill the four 11/32” screw holes.

6. Attach and secure the Bezel plate to the front side of the mounting location using the four 10-32
hex nuts, #10 split lock washers, and the #10 flat washers.

7. Connect the RJ-45 extension cable from the Connector Module to the Display module.
