1.Shutofftheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,
engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekey.

2.Removethelocknut,bolt,spring,andspacerholding
thegrassdeectortothepivotbrackets(Figure1).
Removethegrassdeector.

Anuncovereddischargeopeningcouldallowthe
machinetothrowobjectsatyouorbystandersand
resultinseriousinjury.Also,contactwiththeblade
couldoccur.

•Neveroperatethemachineunlessyouinstalla
coverplate,amulchplate,oragrasschuteand
catcher.

•Makesurethatthegrassdeectorisinthedown
position.

Note:Donotovertighten.

Important:Thegrassdeectormustbeableto

lowerdownintoposition.Liftthedeectorupto
testthatitlowersintothefulldownposition.

Procedure

1.Releasethecushionandremovethefueltank;referto
theOperator’ sManualforthemachine.

2.Usea3/8inchdrillbittodrillopenthe2holesonthe
leftsideofthemachineshowninFigure3.

1.Alignthedischarge-chutebracketwithdeckbracket
andplacethenewspacerandspringontothegrass
deector(Figure2).

Note:InstalltheL-endofthespringbehindthedeck
edge.
