Warranty

TomTom Car Connect must be professionally installed to be
covered by our full warranty. To ensure that the customer’s
full warranty is valid they will need to have a proof of
purchase and proof of professional installation.

Compatibility

Does the TomTom have the latest version of the
application?

TomTom Car Connect is compatible with TomTom GO 510,
710, 910. The application on the TomTom must be version

6.52 or above.

To find the application version, tap the bottom right hand
corner of the status bar in the Driving View. The version
number of the application is shown in the bottom right hand
corner of the next screen.

To download the latest application, use TomTom HOME or
visit www.tomtom.com/support

Does the car have ISO-compliant connectors?

The cable harness supplied in the box is for ISO-compliant
cable harnesses only. If your car connectors are not ISO­compliant, you will need a different cable harness.

Does the stereo have an 'Aux in' socket?

If the car stereo does not have an 'AUX in' socket, you may
need to use either an external amplifier or a 'CD-changer to
AUX in' adaptor.

Safety checklist

• Preventing electromagnetic interference
Car Connect and any cables attached to Car Connect must
be kept as far away as possible from antennas or leads for
TV, FM and AM radio, and GPS.

Before you start

• Check voltage
Car Connect works with 12-volt batteries with a negative
grounding, so please check the battery voltage before you
start.

• Check the user manual
To be sure all connections are correct, always refer to the
user manual for details.

Wiring safety

• If needed use cable clamps or tape to secure all
connections.

• Make sure none of the leads are trapped between Car
Connect and the surrounding metalwork or fittings.

• Always wrap tape around wires near metal parts.

• Keep wires away from moving parts or places which get
hot or wet, like heater outlets or doors.

• If in doubt about wire colour coding, check the user
manual, as the same colours can have different functions
in different systems.

• Do not shorten any cables.

• Never tap into the Car Connect power supply lead.

Unauthorized parts

Installation can vary depending on the model of the vehicle.
Additional equipment may be required. Use only the parts
included in the Car Connect box or recommended by
TomTom, as the use of unauthorized parts can cause
malfunctions.

Modifications

Check with the vehicle manufacturer's dealership if you have
to drill holes or modify the vehicle in any way. Always check
behind any place where you need to drill a hole to avoid
damaging other parts.

Fuse changes

If you replace the fuse, use a fuse of the type specified on the
fuse holder.

3. Connect the line out to the 'AUX in' socket.

Note: If the car stereo does not have an 'AUX in' socket,
you may need to use either an external amplifier or a 'CD­changer to AUX in' adaptor.

4. Connect the microphone lead to the 'MIC in' socket.

5. Attach Car Connect to a suitable fixed object like a cable

harness using the tie wraps supplied.

6. Double-check that all connections are correct.

7. Reconnect the negative “-” cable to the negative “-”

terminal of the battery.

System Set-up

1. Turn on the ignition to activate Car Connect.

2. Place the TomTom in the windscreen dock and switch it

on.

3. Tap Speaker Preferences in the Preferences menu.

4. Choose the sound set-up you want for Car Connect. There

are two options:

• Play music over external speaker

• Play spoken instructions over external speaker

You can select any combination of these options.

Note: Hands-free calls are always played using Car
Connect. You must establish a Bluetooth connection
between your phone and your GO, not between your
phone and TomTom Car Connect.

5. Tap Done.

6. The TomTom asks you to confirm that you want to use an
external Bluetooth Hi-Fi speaker. Tap YES. It will then start
searching for Bluetooth Hi-Fi devices.

7. Select Car Connect from the list of devices found by the
TomTom. It will then try to establish a Bluetooth
connection with Car Connect.

8. Set the volume on the TomTom to 80%. You can set the
volume using the Volume preferences in the Preferences
menu.

Test the connection. Once connected, sound should play
automatically through your speakers, using Car Connect.

If the connection is unsuccessful, all sound will be played
through the internal speaker or through the audio cable if it is
connected to the windscreen dock.

If the connection fails, visit www.tomtom.com for more
information or call TomTom support.

After successfully setting up the system, put all the existing
vehicle parts you removed back the way you found them.

Garantie

TomTom Car Connect muss von einem Installationsfach mann
eingebaut werden, damit die vollständige Garantie nicht
erlischt. Damit die vollständige Garantie fortbesteht, muss
der Kunde einen Kaufbeleg und einen Nachweis über den
Einbau beim Installationsfachmann besitzen.

Kompatibilität

Ist auf Ihrem TomTom die neueste Version der Anwendung
installiert?

TomTom Car Connect ist kompatibel mit TomTom GO 510,
710, 910. Auf Ihrem TomTom muss die Anwendung in der
Version 6.52 oder höher installiert sein.

Um die Version der Anwendung festzustellen, tippen Sie in
der Fahransicht auf die rechte untere Ecke der Statusleiste.
Die Versionsnummer der Anwendung erscheint in der
rechten unteren Ecke des Displays.

Um die neueste Version der Anwendung herunterzuladen,
verwenden Sie TomTom HOME oder besuchen Sie die
Webseite www.tomtom.com/support

Ist Ihr Auto mit ISO-konformen Anschlusssteckern
ausgestattet?

Der mitgelieferte Kabelbaum ist nur für ISO-konforme
Anschlussstecker geeignet. Wenn die Anschlussstecker in
Ihrem Auto nicht ISO-konform sind, benötigen Sie einen
anderen Kabelbaum.

Verfügt das Autoradio über eine »Aux in«-Buchse?

Wenn Ihr Autoradio nicht über eine »AUX in«-Buchse verfügt,
müssen Sie unter Umständen entweder einen externen
Verstärker oder einen Adapter von CD-Wechsler auf AUX in
verwenden.

Sicherheits-Checkliste

• Elektromagnetische Interferenzen vermeiden

Car Connect und alle am Car Connect angeschlossenen
Kabel müssen so weit entfernt wie möglich von TV-,
Radio- und GPS-Antennen und -Kabeln verlegt werden.

Bevor Sie beginnen…

• Spannung prüfen
Car Connect funktioniert mit 12-Volt-Batterien, deren
Minuspol auf Masse liegt. Bitte überprüfen Sie daher vor
der Installation die Batteriespannung.

• Benutzerhandbuch lesen
Um sicherzustellen, dass alle Verbindungen korrekt
hergestellt wurden, lesen Sie bitte die detaillierten
Angaben im Benutzerhandbuch.

Sichere Verkabelung

• Verwenden Sie bei Bedarf Kabelklemmen oder
Klebeband, um bei allen Verbindungen einen sicheren
Kontakt zu gewährleisten.

• Achten Sie darauf, dass keine Kabel zwischen Car Connect
und den umgebenden Metallflächen oder Gegenständen
eingeklemmt werden.

• Umwickeln Sie Kabel in der Nähe von Metallflächen
immer mit Isolierband.

• Halten Sie die Verkabelung fern von beweglichen Teilen
und heißen oder feuchten Stellen, z. B. Heizdüsen und
Türen.

• Bei Zweifeln in Bezug auf die Farbcodierung der Kabel
lesen Sie bitte im Benutzerhandbuch nach, da die Farben
je nach System unterschiedliche Bedeutungen haben
können.

• Kabel dürfen nicht gekürzt werden.

• Das Stromversorgungskabel von Car Connect darf nicht
berührt werden.

Nicht zugelassene Teile

Der Einbauaufwand kann je nach Fahrzeugmodell
unterschiedlich ausfallen. Eventuell ist Zubehör erforderlich.
Verwenden Sie nur die im Lieferumfang des Car Connect
befindlichen oder von TomTom empfohlene Teile, da nicht
zugelassene Teile Funktionsstörungen verursachen können.

Änderungen

Wenden Sie sich an einen Vertragshändler des
Fahrzeugherstellers, wenn Sie Löcher bohren oder andere
strukturelle Veränderungen am Fahrzeug vornehmen
müssen. Überprüfen Sie immer den Freiraum hinter den zu
durchbohrenden Flächen, um eine Beschädigung anderer
Teile zu verhindern.

Sicherungswechsel

Wenn Sie die Sicherung ersetzen, verwenden Sie
ausschließlich den Sicherungstyp, der auf dem
Sicherungsträger angegeben ist.

4. Verbinden Sie das Mikrofonkabel mit der »MIC in«-

Buchse.

5. Befestigen Sie Car Connect mit den mitgelieferten

Kabelbindern an einem geeigneten festen Gegenstand,
z. B. an einem Kabelbaum.

6. Überprüfen Sie noch einmal alle Verbindungen.

7. Schließen Sie das Massekabel (»–«) wieder an den

Minuspol (»–«) der Batterie an.

Systemeinrichtung

1. Schalten Sie die Zündung ein, um Car Connect zu

aktivieren.

2. Stecken Sie den TomTom in die Frontscheibenhalterung

ein, und schalten Sie ihn ein.

3. Tippen Sie auf Lautsprechereinstellungen im Menü

Einstellungen.

4. Wählen Sie die gewünschte Toneinstellung für Car

Connect aus. Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten:

• Musik über ext. Lautsprecher

• Gesprochene Anweisungen über ext. Lautsprecher

Sie können diese Möglichkeiten beliebig kombinieren.

Hinweis: Telefongespräche im Freisprechmodus werden
immer über Car Connect wiedergegeben. Sie müssen
eine Bluetooth-Verbindung zwischen Ihrem Handy und
Ihrem GO herstellen, nicht zwischen Ihrem Handy und
TomTom Car Connect.

5. Tippen Sie auf Fertig.

6. TomTom fragt Sie, ob Sie einen externen Bluetooth-HiFi­Lautsprecher verwenden möchten. Tippen Sie auf JA.
Daraufhin sucht das Gerät nach Bluetooth-HiFi-Geräten.

7. Wählen Sie in der Liste der vom TomTom gefundenen
Geräte Car Connect aus. Das Gerät versucht, eine
Bluetooth-Verbindung mit Car Connect herzustellen.

8. Stellen Sie die Lautstärke des TomTom auf 80% ein. Die
Lautstärke kann jederzeit im Menüpunkt
Lautstärkeneinstellungen im Menü Einstellungen
geändert werden.

Prüfen Sie die Verbindung. Sobald die Verbindung hergestellt
ist, sollte die Tonwiedergabe automatisch über Car Connect
an die Autolautsprecher umgeleitet werden.

Falls die Verbindung nicht hergestellt werden kann, werden
alle Töne über den internen Lautsprecher bzw. das
Audiokabel wiedergegeben, falls dieses an die
Frontscheibenhalterung angeschlossen ist.

Falls die Verbindung nicht hergestellt wird, besuchen Sie für
weitere Informationen www.tomtom.com, oder wenden Sie
sich an den TomTom-Kundensupport.

Nach der erfolgreichen Einrichtung des Systems können Sie
alle ausgebauten Fahrzeugteile und Verkleidungen wieder
anbringen.

Votre voiture est-elle équipée de connecteurs ISO ?

Le faisceau de câbles fourni dans le coffret est uniquement
prévu pour des connecteurs ISO. Si les connecteurs de votre
voiture ne sont pas compatibles ISO, vous aurez besoin d'un
faisceau de câbles différent.

Votre autoradio est-il équipé d'une prise Aux in ?

Si votre autoradio n'a pas de prise AUX in, vous serez
contraint d'utiliser un amplificateur externe ou un adaptateur
"changeur CD - AUX in".

Check-list des précautions à prendre

• Éviter les interférences électromagnétiques

Car Connect et tous les câbles rattachés à Car Connect
doivent être éloignés autant que possible des antennes ou
des câbles TV, radio FM et AM, et GPS.

Car Connect fonctionne en 12 volts avec mise à la terre du
pôle négatif. Veuillez vérifier la tension de la batterie avant
de commencer.

• Lire le manuel d'utilisation
Pour vérifier que tous vos branchements sont corrects,
référez-vous systématiquement au manuel d'utilisation.

Sécurité des branchements

• Si nécessaire, utilisez des serre-fils ou du ruban adhésif
pour sécuriser tous les branchements.

• Vérifiez qu'aucun fil ne soit pris entre Car Connect et un
support métallique ou un raccord.

• Entourez toujours de ruban adhésif les câbles situés près
de pièces métalliques.

• Ne placez pas les câbles à proximité de pièces mobiles ou
d'emplacements susceptibles de chauffer ou de
s'humidifier comme les portes ou les sorties de chauffage.

• En cas de doute sur le code couleur des fils, référez-vous
au manuel d'utilisation car des couleurs identiques
peuvent avoir des fonctions différentes dans d'autres
systèmes.

• Ne raccourcissez aucun câble.

• Ne branchez rien d'autre sur le câble d'alimentation
électrique du Car Connect.

Pièces non agréées

L’installation peut varier en fonction du modèle de véhicule.
Des équipements supplémentaires peuvent être nécessaires.
Utilisez uniquement les pièces incluses dans votre coffret Car
Connect ou recommandées par TomTom, car l'utilisation de
pièces non agréées peut entraîner des dysfonctionnements.

Modifications

Renseignez-vous auprès de votre revendeur automobile pour
savoir si vous devez percer des trous ou modifier votre
véhicule d'une façon quelconque. Vérifiez toujours ce qui se
trouve derrière l'endroit où vous devez percer un trou pour
éviter d'endommager d'autres pièces.

Changement de fusible

Si vous devez remplacer le fusible, utilisez le type de fusible
indiqué sur le porte-fusible.
