IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Read all instructions.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not
immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Contact Consumer Service for examination, repair or adjustment.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
To disconnect, switch to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
Be certain Lids are securely in place before operating appliance.
Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

WARNING: This appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or other injury to persons or damage to property.
All users of this appliance must read and understand this Use and Care guide before operating or cleaning this appliance.
The cord to this appliance should be plugged into a 120 V AC electrical outlet only.
Use water only in this appliance! Do not put any other liquids or food products in this appliance. Do not mix or add anything to the water placed in this appliance, except as instructed in the User Maintenance Instructions to clean the appliance.
To avoid accidental scalding or burns, use extreme caution while moving this appliance when it contains hot water, and while pouring hot water from this appliance.
Keep appliance at least 4 inches away from walls or other objects during operation. Do not place any objects on top of appliance while it is operating. Place the appliance on a surface that is resistant to heat.
If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, immediately unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning appliance.
If this appliance falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water or any other liquid, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water! Do not use this appliance after it has fallen into or has become immersed in water. Contact Consumer Service for examination and repair.
Do not leave this appliance unattended during use.
Always pour water into Kettle before plugging in and heating up
the appliance. Never pour water into heated Kettle.
Be sure Kettle is filled with water to at least the "MIN" marking level. Do not operate appliance without water or with an insufficient amount of water. Also, do not fill above the "MAX" water level. If the Kettle is over filled, there is a risk that boiling water may be ejected.
Do not block the steam from emitting from the Spout during use.
Do not use this appliance if it is cracked or damaged. Contact
Consumer Service for examination and repair.
Do not place this appliance in a microwave oven.

Grounded 3-Conductor Plug
This appliance is equipped with a grounded-type 3-wire cord (3-prong plug). This plug will only fit into an electrical outlet made for a 3-prong plug. This is a safety feature. If the plug should fail to fit the outlet, contact an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Short Cord Instructions
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Do not use an extension cord with this product.
Electric Power
If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. It should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.
Your new electric kettle is to be used for heating water only. Do not put any food or beverage into the kettle.

Before Using Your Electric Kettle
Please fill out information that follows warranty.
CAUTION: Do not immerse kettle or power base in water or any other liquid or put in a dishwasher to clean.
Thoroughly clean your kettle before using by filling the kettle with the maximum 2 liters (81⁄3cups) of water and boil. SEE BOILING
INSTRUCTIONS. When unit shuts off, discard the water. Wait 10 minutes to allow heating elements to cool. Repeat the process one more time.

Boiling Instructions
1. Remove kettle from power base.
2. Place power base on a level counter.
3. Press the switch to the OFF position.
4. Tilt the lid open by lifting up. Fill the kettle with the desired amount of water using the water level indicator. Make sure that the 0,5 litres (21⁄8cups) minimum and 2,0 litres (81⁄8cups) maximum amounts are observed. Close the lid and wipe excess water off the outside of kettle and power base. The lid must be closed to avoid contact with hot steam when grasping the handle and for the automatic shut off to work.
NOTE: Tilt lid open only when the kettle is cold.
5. Carefully place the kettle on the power base engaging the connector into the bottom of the kettle. Do not tip the kettle as you place it over the connector.
6. Plug power base into any 120 V ~ 60 Hz grounded electrical outlet.
7. Press the switch to the ON position; the indicator light at the bottom of the handle will come on.
WARNING: This appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use. Use proper precautions to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or other injury to persons or damage the property. Keep hands and face clear of the area above the Kettle.
8. When the water comes to a boil, the kettle will turn off automatically and the indicator light will turn off. The kettle may now be removed for use. Carry the kettle very carefully and level to avoid spillage and possible injury. The kettle may be placed on the countertop or table for serving. At anytime while the kettle is heating, you may press the switch to the OFF position and remove the kettle.
CAUTION: Do not touch hot surfaces!
NOTE: Always wait until the kettle has automatically shut off and the indicator light is off, or press the switch to the OFF position before removing from or placing the kettle onto the power base. If the OFF switch is not pressed, and the kettle is removed from the power base, the kettle will automatically turn off. If the kettle is dry and the ON switch is turned on to boil, it will shut off automatically after a few seconds but may result in damage to the unit.

9. Following use, the kettle may be returned to and stored on the power base. At any time when the kettle is on the power base, press the ON switch to reheat the water. When the water boils again, the kettle will turn off automatically. The indicator light will go off.
10. You may press the switch to the OFFposition at anytime during reheating.
11. Unplug the kettle when not in use. Allow to cool before refilling and plugging in again.
User Maintenance Instructions
This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Any ser vicing requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician.
Cleaning Your Electric Kettle
CAUTION: Do not immerse kettle or power base in water or any other liquid or put in a dishwasher to clean.
1. Wait until the kettle has automatically shut off and the indicator light is off or press the power switch to the OFF position and the indicator light will go off. Unplug the kettle from the outlet and allow to cool before cleaning.
2. There may be deposits of minerals that form inside the kettle and flake off during use. Rinse out as needed.
3. Mineral deposits can form a coating inside the kettle and may cause an off flavor in the water or lengthen the boiling time. Mix a diluted solution of one part vinegar to four parts water and pour into kettle. Do not boil the solution in the kettle, as it may damage the kettle.
4. Allow to soak for 30 minutes and then clean with a soft, non-abrasive brush.

5. Empty out solution. Fill with clean water and rinse thoroughly.
6. The exterior of the kettle may be cleaned with a sudsy cloth.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
7. Do not use abrasive cleaners that can scratch the surface.
Cord Storage
1. Press the switch to the OFF position. Unplug from outlet and
allow to cool thoroughly.
2. Remove kettle from power base and empty out water; dry
thoroughly.
3. Turn power base upside down and wrap cord around inside of base.
4. Place kettle on base for storing.

Warranty: This Toastmaster®product is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of
one (1) year from the original purchase date. This product warranty covers only the original consumer purchaser of the product.
Warranty Coverage: This warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident in shipment, unreasonable use, misuse, neglect, improper service, commercial use, repairs by unauthorized personnel, normal wear and tear, improper assembly, installation or maintenance abuse or other causes not arising out of defects in materials or workmanship. This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in Canada, and does not extend to any units which have been used in violation of written instructions furnished with the product or to units which have been altered or modified or to damage to products or parts thereof which have had the serial number removed, altered, defaced or rendered illegible.
Implied Warranties: ANY WARRANTIES IMPLIED WHICH THE PURCHASER MAY HAVE ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. Some states and provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
Warranty Performance: During the above one-year warranty period, a product with a defect will be either repaired or replaced with a comparable model (at the store’s option) when the product is returned to the place of purchase. The repaired or replacement product will be in warranty for the balance of the one-year warranty period and an additional one-month period. No charge will be made for such repair or replacement within the warranty period.
