SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. DONOT REMOVE COVER(OR BACK).
NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE.REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.
The graphic symbols on the back cover of the set mean the following:
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilat eral triangle is intended to alert the
user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may
be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triang le is intended to al ert the user to the pre sence
of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the l iterature accompanying
the appliance.
WARNING : TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS APPLIANCE TO
RAIN ORMOISTURE.
INSTALLATION
LOCATE the receiver in the room where direct light does not strike the screen. Total darkness or a reflection on the
picture screen can cause eyestrain. Soft and indirect lighting is recommended for comfortable viewing.
ALLOW enough space between the receiver and the wall to permit proper ventilation.
AVOID excessive warm locations to prevent possible damage to the cabinet or compon ent failure.
AUTOMATIC DEGAUSSING
All colour television receivers are sensitive to magnetic influences, usually caused by either moving the receiver from
one place to another or using certain electrical appliances near the receiver. This residual magnetism as it is called,
sometimes causes distortion which gives rise to "blotchy" areas of colour in the picture. To avoid these effects the
receiver incorporates an automatic degaussing circuit which operates for a short while immediatel y each time the
receiver is switched on using the mains switch. This circuit removes any residual magnetism in the metal parts of the
picture tube and therefore ensures that each time the receiver is switched "ON" using the Mains switch, the purit y of
the colours displayed on the screen remain true and lifelike. If the set is moved or faced in a different direction, the
mains switch must be switched off at least 10 minutes in order that the automatic degaussing circuit operates
properly.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Warning: To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this TV set to rain or moisture.
LOCATION
Place the TV set on a flat, level surface and in a dry area free from dust and moisture. Do not place the
unit in direct sunlight, or where it would be affected by smoke, stream, vibration or heat from heat
radiating appliances. To prevent excessive internal temperature rise, place the unit so that there is at
least 15 cm of space between it and the surrounding walls.
FIRE AND SHOCK PRECAUTIONS
zAdequate ventilation must be provided to prevent heat build up inside unit. Keep the inside of unit
free from foreign objects, such as hairpins, nails, paper, etc. Do not build the set into a bookcase or
other enclosures in which it would be poorly ventilated. Do not place it on carpet or a bed as low
ventilation holes could become obstructed.
zDo not set liquids, including flower vases and vessels filled with chemicals or water etc., on top of
the unit as liquid could get inside the unit. If a hazardous object falls inside the TV set, unplug it
immediately and call a qualified technician for removal.
z Take care when installing or moving this appliance. Ensure that the power plug is correctly
connected/reconnected into the mains supply. To avoid damage to the power cord, never allow
heavy objects such as the TV set itself to be placed on the power cord. Keep cord away from heat
radiating appliances. Do not allow cord to become knotted or tangled. Do not alter or lengthen the
cord. When removing the power plug from the socket, always hold onto the plug, never pull by the
cord.
CUSTOMER NOTICE

advice if your reception is poor .
NOTE:
Disconnect the indoor antenna when using on outdoor antenna. It is advisable to use 75Ω coaxial
cable to eliminate the interference and noise caused by radio waves. Do not bind antenna cable
and power cord together.
