Please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
What water to use ?
Your appliance has been designed to function with untreated tap water. However, it is
necessary to operate the Self-Clean function regularly in order to eliminate hard water
deposits from the steam chamber.
If your water is very hard (check with your local water authority), it is possible to mix
tap water with store-bought distilled or demineralised water in the following
proportions : - 50% tap water, - 50% distilled or demineralised water.
Types of water not to use
Heat concentrates the elements contained in water during evaporation.The types of
water listed below contain organic waste or mineral elements that can cause spitting,
brown staining, or premature wear of the appliance : water from clothes dryers,
scented or softened water, water from refrigerators, batteries or air conditioners,
pure distilled or demineralised water or rain water should not be used in your Tefal
iron.Also do not to use boiled, filtered or bottled water.
Warning!
Before using your iron with the steam function for the first time, we recommend
that you operate it in a horizontal position for a few moments, away from your
linen, i.e. press the Shot of Steam button a few times.
During the first few uses, a harmless odour and smoke may be given off.
This has no effect on the use of the iron and will disappear quickly.
Warning ! Remove any labels from the soleplate
before heating up the iron (depending on model).
1- STEAM IRONING
- Unplug your iron before filling it.
- Set the steam control to DRY (A).
- Take the iron in one hand and tilt it slightly,soleplate downwards (D).
- To open the water tank stopper, turn it anticlockwise until the arrow on the stopper
points to the “open padlock” symbol (B). It will lift automatically.
- Fill the tank up to the “MAX” line (D).
- Re-close the tank stopper (C).To close the stopper, align the arrow with the “open padlock”
symbol then turn it clockwise until the arrow is aligned with the “closed padlock” symbol.
- You can now plug in your iron.
Filling the water tank
Recommendations:
Fabrics and ironing temperatures:
• Your iron heats up quickly: so begin by ironing fabrics that are ironed at low
temperatures first, then go on to those requiring a higher temperature,
• if you change to a program requiring lower temperatures, wait for the thermostat light
to come on again before continuing to iron (for models fitted with the “Thermo-Alert”,
refer to the section “Thermo-Alert function”).
• when ironing fabrics with mixed fibres, set the ironing temperature for the most delicate
fibre.
For delicate fabrics we recommend testing the fabric first on an inconspicious place eg
(inside them).
• For best results we recommend you use a vented ironing board to allow the powerful
steam to penetrate through the fabric more efficiently.
• Ensure that the fabric you are ironing is flat to avoid steam venting sideways whilst
ironing.
Choose your ironing programme
Your iron has 8 ironing programmes:
• For each program corresponding to a type of textile to be ironed,your iron automatically
and precisely determines the most suitable temperature and steam flow to guarantee best
results.
• To select the appropriate ironing program,use the program selector beneath the grip (E).
- Pressing on the left side : selects the programs requiring low temperature and steam levels.
Beyond program 1,pressing the program selector has no effect.
- Pressing on the right side : selects the programs requiring high temperature and steam
levels. Beyond program 8, pressing the program selector has no effect.
- The program selected appears automatically on the indicator panel at the front of the iron (F).
- Set the steam control to steam ( )
- When your iron reaches the required temperature, the thermostat indicator goes out (G).
You can start ironing.

- Ideal for removing creases from suits, jackets, skirts, hanging curtains etc
- Hang the garment on a hanger and hold the fabric slightly taut with one hand.
The steam is very hot, so you should always do this with the garment on a hanger –
never while someone is wearing it.
- Set the iron to program 8 (J).
- Hold the iron a few centimetres from the fabric to avoid burning delicate fabrics.
- Press the Shot of Steam button ( ) repeatedly (K),moving the iron from top to bottom.
(See illustration) (L).
- Press the Shot of Steam button from time to time (I)
- Wait a few seconds between each shot before pressing the button
again.
- The electronic system cuts off the electric power and the
Auto-Stop warning light flashes if the iron is left vertically
on its heel for more than 8 minutes, or in a horizontal
position for more than 30 seconds, for your security.
- To restart the iron, just move it gently until the warning light stops
flashing.
Note : when the Auto-Stop warning light is on,
it is normal for the thermostat light to remain off.

- While ironing, press a few times in succession on the Spray
button to dampen the fabric (H) and iron out obstinate
creases.
Spray Function
You iron is equipped with an integral anti-scale system (M).
- This system will help to provide :
• a better ironing quality with a constant flow of steam,
• a longer life for your iron.
Integral anti-scale system
- The principle of automatic selection of the steam according to the fabric selected, reduces
the steam flow at lower temperatures and avoids water dripping from your iron onto the
fabric.
Anti-drip function
“Thermo-Alert” function (depending on model)
- The “Thermo-Alert” light (O) comes on when you choose a
program requiring a lower temperature (for example, changing
from program 8 to program 6).
It remains lit while the soleplate temperature is too high.
- When it goes out, you can iron without risk of burning the fabric.

2- DRY IRONING
- Choose your ironing program.
- Set the steam control to DRY (see diagram A).
- You may start ironing when the thermostat light goes out.
• CLEANING THE ANTI-CALC VALVE
(Once per month) :
- Unplug your iron and empty the water tank.
- To remove the anti-calc valve, select program 8,
press the release button (P) and pull the valve upwards.
NEVER TOUCH THE END OF THE VALVE.
- Soak the valve in a cup of white spirit vinegar or plain
lemon juice for 4 hours (Q).
- Rinse the valve under running water.
- Replace the anti-calc valve.
THE IRON WILL NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT THE ANTI-CALC VALVE.
3- CARING FOR YOUR IRON
BE CAREFUL ! Unplug your iron and let it cool down before cleaning it.
• SELF-CLEANING :
In order to extend the life of your iron,use the Self-Cleaning function once a
month.
- Allow your iron to heat up with the tank full and standing on its heel (on program 8).
- When the thermostat light goes out, unplug the iron and hold it in a horizontal position,
over a sink.
- Remove the anti-calc valve.
- Shake the iron gently, over the sink,until some of the water in the water tank (with
the impurities) has flowed out through the soleplate.
- At the end of the operation, push the anti-calc valve back into position.
- Turn the iron back on for 2 minutes, setting it on its heel,to dry the soleplate.
- Unplug the iron, and when the soleplate is just warm, wipe it with a soft cloth.
• CLEANING THE SOLEPLATE :
- While the soleplate is still just warm, clean it by rubbing it with a moist non-metallic
pad.
Recommendations :
the self-cleaning function helps to slow down the scaling up of your iron.
4- STORING YOUR IRON
- Unplug the iron and wait for the soleplate to cool down.
- Empty the water tank and set the steam control to DRY.A little water may remain in
the tank.
- Wind the cord not too tightly around the heel at the back of the iron.
- Store the iron on its heel.

FOR YOUR SAFETY
• If it is dropped or it falls to the floor,the iron must not be used if there is any
visible sign of damage or if it leaks.
• Your iron must be placed on a flat,stable, heat-resistant surface.
• Warning ! The voltage of your electrical installation must correspond to that of
the iron (220V-240V). Connecting to the wrong voltage may cause irreversible
damage to the iron and will invalidate the guarantee.
• This iron must always be plugged into an earthed socket.
• If using a mains extension lead, ensure that it is correctly rated (10A),with an
earth.
• If the electrical cord becomes damaged, it must be immediately replaced by an
Approved Service Centre to avoid any danger.
• Never immerse your iron in water !
• The appliance must be unplugged before filling or emptying the water tank.
• If the appliance falls, have it checked by a suitably qualified person before using it
again; unseen damage may be dangerous.
• The soleplate may be very hot :
- Never touch it.
- Always let it cool off before putting it away.
- Never leave your iron unattended when it is plugged in
or while the soleplate is still hot.
- Always keep your iron out of the reach of children.
- Be careful of hot steam especially when ironing close to the edge of the
ironing board.
• When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is
placed is stable.

5- IF THERE IS A PROBLEM

• The soleplate is scratched or damaged.

• The chosen temperature is too low and does not allow for
the formation of steam.
• You are using the Shot of Steam button too often.
• You have stored the iron horizontally,without emptying it and without
setting it to DRY.
• You are using chemical descaling agents.
• You are using pure distilled/demineralised or softened water.
• Fabric fibres have accumulated in the holes of the soleplate and are
burning.
• Your linen has not been rinsed sufficiently or you have ironed a new
garment before washing it.
• Your are ironing with an inappropriate program (temperature too high).
• You are using starch.
• The water tank is empty.
• The anti-calc valve is dirty.
• Your iron has a build-up of scale.
• Your iron has been used dry for too long.
• You have placed your iron flat on a metallic rest-plate or ironed over a
zip.
• You have not closed the tank stopper properly.
• The steam control is not set to the DRY position.
• The selection is already at one extreme of the range.
• The tank is empty.
• Choose a program from 2 to 8 and wait for the light to go out.
• Wait a few seconds between each use of the button.
• See the section "Storing your iron".
• Do not add any descaling agents to the water in the water tank.
• See section “Types of water not to use”.
• Carry out a self-clean.
• Clean the soleplate with a non-metallic sponge.
Vacuum the holes of the soleplate from time to time.
• Ensure linen is rinsed thoroughly to remove any soap deposits or
chemicals on new garments which may be sucked up by the iron.
• Select the appropriate program.
• Clean the soleplate as indicated above.
Always spray starch onto the reverse side of the fabric to be ironed.
• Fill it.
• Clean the anti-calc valve.
• Clean the anti-calc valve and carry out a self-clean.
• Carry out a self-clean.
• Wait for the soleplate to reach the correct temperature
• Always set your iron on its heel.
• Make sure that the stopper is properly closed and that the arrow
points to the “closed padlock” symbol.
• Check that the steam control is set to the DRY position.
• Operate the selctor in the opposite direction.
• Fill the tank.

Lea detenidamente este manual de instrucciones y guárdelo.
¿Qué agua hay que utilizar?
Este aparato ha sido diseñado para funcionar con agua del grifo. Sin embargo, hay que
realizar regularmente una limpieza automática de la cámara de vaporización,para eliminar
la cal libre. Si el agua tiene mucha cal (pregunte en el ayuntamiento o al servicio de
suministro de agua), puede mezclarse agua del grifo con agua desmineralizada de venta
en cualquier droguería y respetando las siguientes proporciones :
50% de agua de grifo, 50% de agua desmineralizada.
¿Qué agua hay que evitar?
Durante la evaporación, el calor concentra los elementos que hay en el agua.
La siguiente lista detalla el tipo de agua que contiene residuos orgánicos o elementos
minerales susceptibles de provocar salpicaduras, colores amarillentos o un envejecimiento
prematuro del aparato: agua desmineralizada pura de venta en droguerías, agua de las
secadoras, agua perfumada, agua descalcificada, agua de las neveras, agua de las baterías,
agua de los aires acondicionados, agua destilada y agua de lluvia.
Le rogamos que no utilice los siguientes tipos de agua
¡Atención !
Antes de utilizar la plancha por primera vez en posición vapor,le aconsejamos que la
haga funcionar algunos momentos en posición horizontal y sin ropa debajo.En estas
mismas condiciones, accione varias veces el mando Super Pressing.
Las primeras veces, puede que salga algo de humo y se desprenda olor, pero no es
nocivo. Este fenómeno que no afecta al uso del aparato, desaparece rápidamente.
¡Atención ! Retire las posibles etiquetas de la suela
antes de calentar la plancha (según modelo).
1- PLANCHAR CON VAPOR
- Desconecte la plancha antes de proceder al llenado.
- Coloque el mando de vapor en la posición SECO (A) .
- Sujete la plancha con una mano, inclínela ligeramente, con la suela hacia abajo (D).
- Para abrir el tapón del depósito, gírelo en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj (hasta que
coincida la flecha del tapón con el símbolo “candado abierto” (B)).
Se levantará automáticamente.
- Llene el depósito hasta la marca «MAX» (D).
- Cierre el tapón del depósito (C). Para cerrar el tapón, haga coincidir la flecha del tapón con
el símbolo “candado abierto” y a continuación gírelo en el sentido de las agujas del reloj
hasta que la flecha esté enfrente del símbolo “candado cerrado”.
- Puede enchufar la plancha.
Llene el depósito
Nuestro consejo:
Tejidos y temperatura de planchado:
• La plancha se calienta rápidamente: Empiece por los tejidos que se planchan a una
temperatura baja, y luego los que requieran una temperatura más alta;
• Si pasa a un programa que necesita temperaturas menos elevadas, espere a que el
indicador luminoso del termostato se encienda de nuevo antes de volver a planchar,
(para los modelos provistos del thermo-Alert, diríjase al párrafo “Función Thermo-Alert”).
• Si debe planchar un tejido hecho con fibras mezcladas: ajuste la temperatura de
planchado basándose en la fibra más frágil
• A cada programa le corresponde un tipo de tejido para planchar,la plancha determina
automáticamente y con precisión los niveles de temperatura y de caudal de vapor adaptados,
para garantizar el mejor resultado.
• Para seleccionar el Programa de planchado apropiado, accione el Selector de programas
situado debajo del asa (E).
- Impulsiones lado izquierdo : Acceda a los programas que necesitan niveles de temperatura
y vapor bajos. De este lado del programa 1, el accionamiento del selector de programas
queda sin efecto.
- Impulsiones lado derecho : Acceda a los Programas que necesitan niveles de temperatura
y vapor altos. Después del programa 8, el accionamiento del selector de programas queda
sin efecto.
- El Programa seleccionado se visualiza automáticamente en el Cuadro de mando situado en
la parte delantera de la plancha (F).
- Ponga el mando de vapor sin vapor ( )
- Cuando la plancha alcance la temperatura deseada, el indicador luminoso del termostato se
apagará (G). Puede planchar.
Elija el programa de planchado
La plancha dispone de 8 programas de planchado.

- Ideal para eliminar las arrugas de los trajes, las chaquetas, las faldas, las cortinas,…
- Cuelgue la prenda en una percha y estire el tejido con una mano. Como el vapor está muy
caliente, no desarrugue nunca una prenda sobre una persona, siempre en una percha.
- Colóquese en el programa 8 (J)
- Pulse la tecla Superpressing ( ) por impulsiones (I) y realice un movimiento de arriba a
abajo. Dibujo (J)
- Mantenga la plancha a unos centímetros del tejido para no quemar las prendas delicadas.
- Pulse de vez en cuando la tecla Super Pressing (I)
- Respete un intervalo de algunos segundos entre dos pulsaciones.
- El sistema electrónico corta la alimentación y el indicador
luminoso de la parada automática parpadea si la plancha
permanece más de 8 minutos inmóvil sobre el talón o más
de 30 segundos en posición horizontal para su seguridad.
- Para poner la plancha en marcha, es suficiente con agitarla
ligeramente hasta que el indicador luminoso deje de parpadear.
Nota : Cuando la parada automática de seguridad está funcionando, es normal que el
indicador luminoso del termostato permanezca apagado.

Planchar verticalmente
Parada automática de seguridad (según modelo)
- Cuando planche, pulse varias veces seguidas el botón Pulverizador
para humedecer la ropa (H) y eliminar las arrugas más resistentes.
Humedezca la ropa (pulverizador)
- La plancha vapor está equipada con un sistema anticalcáreo
integrado (M).
- Este sistema permite:
• una mayor calidad de planchado: caudal vapor constante durante
todo el planchado
• para prolongar la vida de la plancha.
Sistema anticalcáreo integrado
El principio de selección automática del vapor en función del tejido seleccionado, permite
reducir el caudal de vapor a baja temperatura y evitar que la plancha gotee sobre la ropa.
Función Antigoteo (según modelo)
- El indicador luminoso “Thermo-Alert” (O) se encenderá cuando
haya seleccionado un programa que necesite una temperatura más
baja (por ejemplo, pasar del programa 8 al programa 6).
Permanecerá encendido mientras que la temperatura de la suela
esté demasiado alta.
- Puede planchar sin riesgo de quemar la ropa en cuanto el indicador
luminoso se haya apagado.

• LIMPIE LA VARILLA ANTICALCÁREA
(una vez al mes) :
- Desenchufe la plancha y vacíe el depósito.
- Para sacar la varilla anti-calcárea, seleccione el programa 8,
presione la tecla de extracción de la varilla (P) y tire de ella
hacia arriba.
NO TOQUE NUNCA EL EXTREMO DE LA VARILLA.
- Deje la varilla en remojo durante 4 horas dentro de un
vaso con vinagre de alcohol blanco o con zumo de limón
natural (Q).
- Aclare la varilla con agua del grifo.
- Vuelva a poner la varilla anticalcárea en su lugar
LA PLANCHA NO FUNCIONA SIN LA VARILLA ANTICALCÁREA.
3- MANTENIMIENTO DE LA PLANCHA
¡ ATENCIÓN ! Desenchufe y deje enfriar la plancha antes de limpiarla.
• LIMPIEZA AUTOMÁTICA :
Para alargar la vida de la plancha,utilice la limpieza automática una vez al mes.
- Deje calentar la plancha, con el depósito lleno, sobre el talón (en el programa 8).
- Cuando el indicador luminoso se haya apagado,desenchufe la plancha y póngala en el
fregadero.
- Quite la varilla anticalcárea.
- Sacuda ligera y horizontalmente la plancha, encima del fregadero, hasta que una parte del
agua (con las impurezas) salga por la suela.
- Al final de la operación, coloque nuevamente la varilla anticalcárea en su lugar.
- Apoye la plancha sobre el talón y enchúfela de nuevo durante 2 minutos para que la
suela se seque.
- Desenchufe la plancha y cuando la suela esté tibia, séquela con un paño suave.
• LIMPIEZA DE LA SUELA :
- Cuando la suela esté todavía tibia, límpiela frotando con un estropajo húmedo que no
sea metálico.
Nuestro consejo :
La limpieza automática retrasa las incrustaciones de cal en la plancha.
2- PLANCHAR EN SECO
- Seleccione su programa de planchado.
- Coloque el mando de vapor en la posición SECO (ver dibujo A).
- Podrá planchar cuando el indicador luminoso se haya apagado.

4- PARA GUARDAR
PARA SU SEGURIDAD
• Lea atentamente las instrucciones de uso, antes de utilizar el aparato por primera
vez : un uso no conforme con dichas instrucciones liberaría a TEFAL de toda responsabilidad.
• ¡Atención! la tensión de su instalación eléctrica debe corresponder a la de la
plancha (220-240V).
Cualquier error de conexión puede causar un daño irreversible en la plancha y
anular la garantía.
• Esta plancha debe estar obligatoriamente enchufada a una toma de corriente con
tierra.
Si utiliza un alargador, verifique que es de tipo bipolar (10A) con conductor de
tierra.
• Si el cable de alimentación está dañado, debe ser reemplazado inmediatamente
por un Centro de Servicio Autorizado, para evitar un peligro.
• ¡No sumerja nunca la plancha en agua!
• Su aparato emite vapor que puede ocasionar quemaduras.
• El aparato debe estar desenchufado antes de rellenar o vaciar el depósito.
• En caso de caída de la plancha, hágala examinar por un profesional antes de volver
a ponerla en marcha: daños invisibles pueden ser peligrosos para su seguridad.
• La plancha no deberá utilizarse, en caso de caída, si presentara algún signo visible
de deterioro o si tuviera fugas.
• La suela de la plancha puede estar muy caliente:
- no la toque nunca,
- deje siempre enfriar la plancha antes de guardarla,
- no deje nunca su plancha sin vigilar mientras esté conectada o mientras
la suela esté aún caliente,
- no deje nunca su plancha al alcance de los niños.
• La plancha debe apoyarse en una superficie estable.
• Cuando coloque la plancha sobre su reposa-plancha, asgúrese que la superficie es
estable.
NO DESMONTE NUNCA SU PLANCHA :
DIRÍJASE SIEMPRE A UN CENTRO SERVICIO AUTORIZADO.
- Desenchufe la plancha y espere a que la suela se haya enfriado.
- Vacíe el depósito y coloque el mando de vapor en la posición SECO.
Puede quedar un poco de agua en el depósito.
- Enrosque el cable alrededor del talón de la plancha
- Guarde la plancha apoyada sobre el talón.
¡ PARTICIPE EN LA CONSERVACIÓN DEL MEDIO
AMBIENTE !
Su electrodoméstico contiene materiales recuperables y/o reciclables.
Entréguelo al final de su vida útil, en un Centro de Recogida Específico o
en uno de nuestros Servicios Oficiales Post Venta donde será tratado
de forma adecuada.
5-PROBLEMAS CON LA PLANCHA
Problemas Causas posibles Soluciones
• Sale agua por los agujeros de la suela.
• Un líquido amarillento sale por la suela y ensucia la
ropa.
• La suela está sucia o amarillenta y puede manchar la
ropa.
• La plancha produce poco vapor o no lo produce.
• La suela está rayada o dañada.
• El agua sale por la abertura del depósito
• La plancha pulveriza cuando se ha llenado el depósito.
• El selector de programas funciona en vacío.
• No sale agua del pulverizador.
• La temperatura seleccionada no permite que se produzca vapor.
• Utiliza el mando Super Pressing demasiado a menudo.
• Ha guardado la plancha con la suela hacia abajo sin vaciarla y sin poner
el mando en la posición SECO.
• Utiliza productos químicos contra la cal.
• Utilice uno de los tipos de agua no recomendados.
• Se han acumulado fibras de ropa en los agujeros de la suela y se
carbonizan.
• Planche con un programa inadaptado (temperatura demasiado alta).
• Su ropa no está suficientemente aclarada o utiliza almidón.
• El depósito está vacío.
• La varilla anticalcárea está sucia.
• La plancha tiene cal.
• La plancha se ha utilizado durante mucho tiempo en seco.
• Ha guardado la plancha con la suela hacia abajo sobre un reposa-planchas
metálico.
• Ha cerrado mal el tapón del depósito.
• El cursor del mando de vapor no está en la posición SECO.
• El selector está situado en uno de los extremos de los programas.
• El depósito está vacío.
• Seleccione un programa de 2 a 8 y espere a que el indicador luminoso
se apague.
• Espere algunos segundos entre cada utilización.
• Consulte el capítulo «Almacenamiento».
• No añada ningún producto contra la cal en el agua del depósito.
• Consulte el capítulo “Qué tipos de agua debe evitar”.
• Realice una limpieza automática.
Limpie la suela con un estropajo que no sea metálico.
Limpie de vez en cuando los agujeros de la suela.
• Seleccione el programa adecuado.
• Limpie la suela como se indica más arriba.

• Compruebe que el tapón del depósito está bien cerrado y en la

Llene el depósito.
Para cualquier otro tipo de problema, acuda a un servicio técnico
oficial para que revise el aparato.

Que tipo de água utilizar?
Este aparelho foi concebido para funcionar com água da torneira.
No entanto, é necessário proceder regularmente à auto-limpeza dos orifícios de
vaporização, para eliminar o calcário solto. Se a água que utiliza contém um elevado teor
de calcário (poderá informar-se na Câmara Municipal ou nos Serviços Municipalizados de
Água e Saneamento), pode misturar 50% de água da torneira e 50% de água desmineralizada disponível no mercado.
Que tipo de água evitar?
Durante a evaporação, o calor concentra os elementos contidos na água.As águas abaixo
indicadas podem conter resíduos orgânicos ou substâncias minerais passíveis de provocar
salpicos, corrimento de água acastanhada ou a deterioração prematura do aparelho: água
desmineralizada pura disponível no mercado,água própria para secadores de roupa, água
perfumada, água amaciada, água dos frigoríficos, água de baterias, água dos climatizadores,
água destilada, água da chuva.
Pedimos-lhe, pois, que não utilize os tipos de água acima mencionados.
Atenção!
Antes da primeira utilização do seu ferro na posição vapor, recomendamos ligá-lo
durante uns instantes na posição horizontal e afastado da roupa.
Nessa mesma posição, accione repetidamente o comando Super Vapor.
Aquando das primeiras utilizações, o aparelho poderá libertar fumos e odores
inofensivos. Este fenómeno sem consequências desaparecerá rapidamente.
Atenção ! Retire as eventuais etiquetas da base do
ferro antes de o pôr a funcionar (consoante modelo).
