03-A. Battery Installation
Please open the battery compartment and install 2pcs AA size 1.5V batteries base on the correct polarity.
When the battery is installed on the PL-210 radio, will has the battery level and digital clock time displayed on the LCD.
03-B. Power On and Power Off
When the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status, please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio.

When the PL-210 radio is in the “power on” status, quick press the [POWER] button will turn it off.
[NOTE]: Before power on the PL-210 radio, please make sure the battery was installed correctly and it is in the full level.
[NOTE]: Before power on the PL-210 radio, please check and make sure the keypad is unlocked (press the [ ] button and hold for 3 seconds will unlock the keypad).

04. Frequency Tuning
Please press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio, quick press the [FM / ATS], [MW / LW / ATS], or [SW / ATS] button to select the working band.
When working on the FM or SW band, please extend the built-in telescopic whip antenna to get the better reception.
Turn the [VOLUME] knob to adjust the volume.
04-A. Manual Tuning
Please quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the frequency number flashed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “frequency” mode.
Please turn the [TUNING] knob to tune the station, the frequency number will change on the LCD during the operation.
[NOTE]: Turning the [TUNING] knob slowly will auto enter the “Slow Tuning” mode.
[NOTE]: Turning the [TUNING] knob quickly will auto enter the “Fast Tuning” mode.
The tuning step list is as following.

04-B. Auto Scan Tuning
Please quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the frequency number flashed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “frequency” mode.
Please press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button and hold for 3 seconds, the PL-210 radio will start auto scan the station on the current band. The PL-210 radio will suspend the auto scan tuning when has the station captured and continue the auto scan tuning after 5 seconds.

The use can stop the current auto scan tuning process by turn the [TUNING] knob during the PL-210 radio is in the auto scan tuning operation.
[NOTE]: When has the station captured during the auto scan tuning, quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button within 5 seconds, will save this station in the memory.
04-C. Direct Input Frequency
Please quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the frequency number flashed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “frequency” mode.
Please press the [NUMERIC KEYS] buttons (from 0 to 9) to input the frequency number directly, the PL-210 radio will auto tune to this frequency.
[NOTE]: For the FM band, please ignore the decimal point when input, for example, to input the FM 89.3MHz, just press [8], [9], and [3] one by one is ok.
[NOTE]: If input the frequency rate is over the range, then will display the “ERR” on the LCD.

05. Station Preset
There is a built-in memory designed on the PL-210 radio. The user can preset the favorite stations in this memory for fast and easy search and play.
The PL-210 radio supports two preset method (“band preset” and “page preset”), and total has 1700 stations can be preset in the inside memory.
The inside memory in the PL-210 radio is divided in 13 pages (page 0, and page 01 to page 12).
The page 0 is dedicated used for the “band preset”, total 500 stations can be preset in this page 0.
The left space of the inside memory is dedicated used for the “page preset” from page 01 to page 12, 100 stations can be preset on each page, total 1200 stations can be preset in these 12 pages. The use can preset the different stations on different bands in same page.

05-A. ATS Preset
ATS: Auto Tuning Storage.
The PL-210 radio supports the auto tuning storage function, by this operation, the PL-210 radio will scan the stations in the current band and preset it in the inside memory automatically.
For example, when working on the FM band (please extend the built-in telescopic whip antenna for better reception), please press the [FM] button and hold for 3 seconds, the PL-210 radio will starts the ATS automatically.

When doing the ATS operation, will has the symbol “PRESET” and the memory address number flashed on the LCD, and the frequency number will continue change also.
The PL-210 radio will enters the “address” mode after the ATS process, turn the [TUNING] knob will play the station preset by this ATS operation one by one.
For the MW band and the LW band, the ATS operation is same as on the FM band.
For the SW band, the PL-210 radio supports two method of the ATS operation.
SW band method A: press the [SW / ATS / ] button and hold for 3 seconds will implement the ATS operation on the all meter bands. SW band method B: press the [SW / ATS / ] button and hold for 3 seconds will implement the ATS operation on the current meter band only.
[NOTE]: The ATS operation on the FM band, MW band, LW band and SW band method A, the all pre-stored stations in the memory will be auto replaced by the new stations searched via ATS operation. If manual stop the ATS operation, the un-replaced pre-stored stations will be continue kept in the inside memory.
[NOTE]: The ATS operation on the SW band method B, the existing stations in the memory will not be auto replaced by the new stations searched via the ATS operation, the all new stations will be preset in the blank memory address.
[NOTE]: When doing the ATS operation, if has the strong interference, please don’t extend the built-in telescopic whip antenna, and place the [ANT. GAIN] switch at “M” or “L” position, and try the ATS operation again.
05-B. Manual Preset
Please power on the PL-210 radio. Select the working band and tune to the station for preset.

Please quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button, will have the “PRESET” and memory address number flashed on the LCD.
Please quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button again will preset the current station in the memory, or wait for 3 seconds without any operation, the PL-210 radio will auto preset this station in the memory also.
[NOTE]: If you want to preset the station on the other memory page, just turn the [TUNING] knob when the “PRESET” and page number are flashing on the LCD, when the memory page selected, then quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button again to confirm the preset.
05-C. Fast Preset
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio, and select the working band. Please quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the frequency number flashed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “frequency” mode.
Please press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button and hold for 3 seconds, the PL-210 radio will starts auto scan the station on the current band.

When doing the fast preset operation, will has the frequency unit flashed on the LCD, and the frequency number will continue change on LCD.
The PL-210 radio will suspend for 5 seconds when has the station captured, please quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button during the period, this station will be preset in the memory, and the PL-210 radio will continue the auto scan.
The user can manual stop the operation by turn the [TUNING] knob.

06. Listen Preset Station
06-A. Manual Scan
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio. Continue quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the memory page number and address number displayed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “address” mode.
Please turn the [TUNING] knob to tune the station preset in the inside memory.
06-B. Auto Scan
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio. Continue quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the memory page number and address number displayed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “address” mode.
Continue press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button and hold for 3 seconds, the PL-210 radio will auto scan the station preset in the inside memory, and will suspend on each station and play it for 5 seconds, then continue to next preset station.
[NOTE]: The user can turn the [TUNING] knob to stop this auto scan operation.
[NOTE]: The user can quick press the [ENTER / DELETE] button to delete the station when doing this auto scan operation.

06-C. Direct Input Address
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio. Continue quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the memory page number and address number displayed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “address” mode.
Please press the [NUMERIC KEYS] buttons to input the address number directly, and press the [ENTER / DELETE] button to confirm the input, the PL-210 radio will play the station preset at this address.
[NOTE]: If has the symbol “- - - -“ displayed on the LCD after direct input the address number, means there is no station preset at this address.

07. Memory Page Change
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio, and tune to the station will be preset in the memory.
Please quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button, will has the memory address number flashed on the LCD.
Please quick press the [PAGE +] button or [PAGE -] button to adjust the memory page number.
When the memory page selected, please quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button again, the station will be preset in this page.
[NOTE]: It is recommended to set the page 01 to page 12 by 12 hours, and preset the stations in the different pages by different time.

08. Delete Preset Station
08-A. Manual Delete Single Station
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio. Continue quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the memory page number and address number displayed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “address” mode.
Please turn the [TUNING] knob, find the station you want to delete.
Please press the [ENTER / DELETE] button and hold don’t release until has the symbol “DEL” and address number flash on the LCD, followed quick press the [ENTER / DELETE] button again, will delete this preset station from the memory.
[NOTE]: If doesn’t quick press the [ENTER / DELETE] button to confirm the deletion within 3 seconds, the PL-210 radio will cancel the delete operation.
08-B. Fast Delete Single Station

Please press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button and hold for 3 seconds, will auto scan the preset stations in the memory.
Find the preset station you want to delete, quick press the [ENTER / DELETE] button will delete it from the memory. Repeat to delete the next preset station.
08-C. Manual Delete Page Station
Please quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio. Continue quick press the [VF / VM / SCAN] button till has the memory page number and address number displayed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the “address” mode.
Please press the [ENTER / DELETE] button and hold for 3 seconds, will has the symbol “DEL” and “ALL” displayed on the LCD.

09. Sleep Auto Power Off
The PL-210 radio supports the auto power off function by the sleep timer setting.
When the PL-210 radio is power on by quick press the [POWER] button, the default sleep timer setting is auto power off the PL-210 radio after 30 minutes in this case.
To setup the different sleep timer time, please press the [POWER] button and hold for 3 seconds to power on the PL-210 radio, will has the symbol “ ” flashed on the LCD, this means the PL-210 radio is in the status to adjust the sleep timer time setup.
Please continue turn the [TUNING] knob to adjust the sleep timer time from 1 to 120 minutes, or select “ON” to disable the sleep auto power off function.
When the sleep timer time selected, wait for 3 seconds, the symbol “ ” will stop flashing on the LCD, and the setup is confirmed.
The user can select “ON” to disable the sleep auto power off function.

[NOTE]: If quick press the [POWER] button to power on the PL-210 radio, the sleep timer auto power off time is same as previous time setup.
[NOTE]: To change the sleep timer auto power off time, must power on the PL-210 radio by press the [POWER] button and hold for 3 seconds.

10. Digital Clock
Before to setup or adjust the digital clock time, please make sure the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status.
Please press the [TIME SET] button and hold for 3 seconds, the digital clock hour time will flash on the LCD, turn the [TUNING] knob to adjust the hour time, quick press the [TIME SET] button to confirm the adjustment.
When the hour time setup finished, the minute time will flash on the LCD, turn the [TUNING] knob to adjust the minute time, quick press the [TIME SET] button to confirm the adjustment.
[NOTE]: The PL-210 radio will confirm the adjustment if doesn’t press the [TIME SET] button within 3 seconds.
[NOTE]: When setting the digital clock time, directly press the numeric key will change the hour time or minute time also.

11. Alarm Auto Power On
There is an alarm timer designed on the PL-210 radio, the user can setup this alarm timer to wake up the PL-210 radio and play the preset station automatically.
[NOTE]: The PL-210 radio can be auto power off and stop the wake up function by the auto alarm off timer setting, the wake up time range is from 1 to 90 minutes.
11-A. Alarm Timer Setup
Before setup the alarm timer, please make sure the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status firstly.
Please press the [ALARM] button and hold for 3 seconds, will have the hour time and symbol “AL” displayed and flashed on the LCD. Turn the [TUNING] knob to adjust the hour time, quick press the [ALARM] button again to confirm the adjustment.
After the hour time setup finished, the minute time will flashed on the LCD, followed turn the [TUNING] knob again to adjust the minute time, and quick press the [ALARM] button again to confirm the adjustment.
When the hour time and minute time setup finished, will have the symbol “ ” flashed on the LCD, continue turn the [TUNING] knob to setup the auto alarm off timer, the time

range of the auto alarm off timer is from 1 to 90 minutes. When the auto alarm timer time setup finished, please quick press the [ALARM] button to confirm the setup.
[NOTE]: The PL-210 radio will confirm the adjustment if doesn’t press the [ALARM] button within 3 seconds.
[NOTE]: When setting the digital clock time, directly press the numeric key will change the hour time or minute time also.
11-B. Preset Alarm Station
To use the alarm wake up function, the user should preset the favorite station in the inside memory.
Please power on the PL-210 radio and tune to the favorite station for the alarm function, please adjust the volume also.
Please quick press the [MEMORY / BATTERY] button, will have the memory address number flashed on the LCD.
Please quick press the [ALARM] button, will have the symbol “ ” flashed on the LCD, this mean the favorite station has been preset for the alarm function use. The PL-210 radio will play this preset station when it is waked up by the alarm function.
11-C. Alarm Function
When the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status, please quick press the [ALARM] button, will have the symbol “ ” displayed on the LCD, this means the alarm function is activated.
The PL-210 radio will be wake up by the alarm timer setting, and will play the preset station automatically, and will auto power off by the alarm timer auto power off time setting.

When the PL-210 radio is in the “power on” status, press the [ALARM] button will change to play the preset alarm station.
[NOTE]: When the PL-210 radio is waked up by the alarm function, if quick press the [POWER] button, will continue play the preset station till user manual power it off.
[NOTE]: When the PL-210 radio is waked up by the alarm function, if quick press the [POWER] button twice, will turn off the PL-210 radio.
11-D. Snooze Function
When the PL-210 radio is waked up by the alarm timer setup, if quick press the [LIGHT / SNOOZE] button, will stop to play the preset station, and will resume play it again after 5 minutes.

12. LCD Backlight
There is a smart backlight designed on the PL-210 radio for the LCD illumination, when user press the buttons or turn the [TUNING] knob, this backlight will be turn on automatically.
The user can setup the backlight function manually as following.
Quick press the [ ] button will illuminates the LCD for 3 seconds. Press the [ ] button and hold for 3 seconds, the light will continue illuminates the LCD, quick press [ ] button again will turn off the light.
[NOTE]: When the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status, the backlight doesn’t support the long illumination feature.

13. Keypad Lock
When the PL-210 radio is in the “power on” or “power off” status, please press the [ ] button and hold for 3 seconds, will lock the all buttons and [TUNING] knob, in the meantime, will has the symbol “ ” displayed on the LCD.
When the buttons and [TUNING] knob on the PL-210 radio are locked, please press the [ ] button and hold for 3 seconds, will unlock the all buttons and [TUNING] knob, and the will no symbol “ ” displayed on the LCD.

14. Tone Mode
There is a [TONE] switch designed on the PL-210 radio, the user can adjust the tone mode by set this [TONE] switch at different position.
When the [TONE] switch at the “LOW” position means select the bass mode, when the [TONE] switch at the “HIGH” position, means the treble mode is selected.

15. FM Stereo
The PL-210 radio supports the stereo output via the earphone if the program from the station is in stereo format.
When listening the FM stereo program via the earphone, please turn the [FM. ST] switch at the “ON” position, will have the symbol “ ” displayed on the LCD, and the stereo
program will output via the earphone.
[NOTE]: When the FM stereo signal is too weak, it is recommended to turn off the FM stereo feature to get better sound quality.
[NOTE]: When using the built-in speaker, it is recommended to turn off the FM stereo feature.
[NOTE]: If the program from the radio station is not in the stereo format, will not display the symbol “ ” on the LCD even the stereo feature is enabled.

16. Improve Reception
It is recommended to place the [ANT. GAIN] switch at the “H” position, if the signal is too strong, please place this switch at “M” or “L” position.
It is recommended to use the external long wire antenna on the FM band SW band on the PL-210 radio, by using the external long wire antenna will improve the signal reception on the SW band and FM band.
To use this external long wire antenna, just clip it at the end of built-in telescopic whip antenna on the PL-210 radio, and hang up another end of the external long wire antenna as higher as possible and close to the window.
When using the external long wire antenna on the FM band and SW band, please place the [ANT. GAIN] switch at the “H” position.
[NOTE]: Please don’t use the external long wire antenna when the thunder weather.

17. Battery Charge
The PL-210 radio has the smart charge circuit designed to charge the Ni-MH rechargeable battery.
When the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status, install 2psc AA size Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, press the [ ] button and hold for 3 seconds, will display “CHR
ON” and symbol “ ” on the LCD, this means the smart charge function is enabled.
There is a mini-USB interface designed on the PL-210 radio, input the +5V DC power into the PL-210 radio via this interface can get the power supply to charge the Ni-MH rechargeable battery.
When the PL-210 radio is charging the Ni-MH rechargeable battery, the symbol “ ” on the LCD will change, when charge processing finished, will stop change.
The USB port on the computer can be used as the power supply for the battery charge use on the PL-210 radio.
[NOTE]: It is recommended to charge the battery when it is in the full empty level, this will extend life time of battery and keep it in the good conditions.
[NOTE]: Please don’t charge any other type battery on the PL-210 radio, the smart charge function on the PL-210 radio is available for the AA size 1.5V Ni-MH rechargeable battery only.

18. System Setup
18-A. FM Band Frequency Range
Please power off the PL-210 radio, press the [FM SET] button and hold for 3 seconds, will display the FM band frequency range on the LCD, continue quick press the [FM SET] button to change and select the FM band frequency range.
[NOTE]: The PL-210 radio supports the FM band frequency range includes 76MHz ~ 90MHz, 76MHz ~ 108MHz, 87MHz ~ 108MHz, and 88MHz ~ 108MHz.
18-B. Digital Clock Time Format
Please power off the PL-210 radio, press the [12 / 24] button and hold for 3 seconds, will display the digital clock time format on the LCD, continue quick press the [12 / 24] button to change and select the digital clock time mode.
[NOTE]: When display “12H” on the LCD, means the digital clock time displayed by the 12 hour format. When display “24H” on the LCD, means the digital clock time displayed by the 24 hour format.
18-C. LW Band On / Off
Please power off the PL-210 radio, press the [MW / LW] button and hold for 3 seconds, will display the LW band status on the LCD, continue quick press the [MW / LW] button to change the LW band status is enable or disable.
[NOTE]: When display “LW OFF” on the LCD, means the LW band on the PL-210 radio is disabled. When display “LW ON” on the LCD, means the LW band on the PL-210 radio is enabled.
18-D. MW Band Tuning Step
Please power off the PL-210 radio, press the [9 / 10KHz] button and hold for 3 seconds, will display the MW band tuning step on the LCD, continue quick press the [9 / 10KHz] button to change the MW band tuning step.
18-E. Smart Charge
Please power off the PL-210 radio, press the [ ] button and hold for 3 seconds, will display the battery type and smart charge function status on the LCD, continue quick
press the [ ] button to change and select the batter type and smart charge function on or off.

[NOTE]: When the PL-210 radio display “CHR ON” and symbol “ ” on the LCD, means select to use the Ni-MH rechargeable battery, and the smart charge function is
enabled.
[NOTE]: When the PL-210 radio display “CHR OFF” and without the symbol “ ” displayed on the LCD, means select to use the alkaline battery, and the smart charge
function is disabled.
18-F. Backlight Smart Illumination
The PL-210 radio has the built-in backlight designed, it will smartly illuminate the LCD when press the keypad or tuning the station.
When the smart illumination feature is enabled on the PL-210 radio, it will illuminate the LCD for 3 seconds when user press any button or turn the [TUNING] knob.
To disable this smart illumination feature, please make sure the PL-210 radio is in the “power off” status firstly. Please press the [5] button and hold for 3 seconds, will has the symbol “OFF” displayed on the LCD, this means the smart illumination feature is disabled. Press the [5] button again and hold for 3 seconds, will has the symbol “ON” displayed on the LCD, this means the smart illumination feature is enabled.
[NOTE]: When the backlight smart illumination function is disabled, the [ ] button is still available to manual turn on or turn off the backlight.

19. Reset
The PL-210 radio is the microcontroller based design, so there is a dedicated [RESET] button designed on the PL-210 radio for case need to reset the system.
[NOTE]: The [RESET] button is located in the bottom side of the PL-210 radio.
When the case if there is no display on the LCD, or LCD display has the problems, or the buttons unavailable (under the unlock status), or can not power on the PL-210 radio even press the [POWER] button, please try to reset the PL-210 radio.
To reset the PL-210 radio, please using the ball point pen or toothpick to push the [RESET] button and hold for 3 seconds, the PL-210 radio will be auto reset.

20. About Battery
If there is no battery installed on the PL-210 radio for long time, the digital clock will stop working, but the all preset stations in the memory will not lost. The user should to reset the digital clock time after battery reinstallation.
The PL-210 radio has the smart detection circuit to check the battery level, and will auto power off the radio when the battery is in low level.
Please don’t mix using the new and used battery together.
Please take the battery out from the PL-210 radio if long time not use.
