The TR1424, with built-in SLT 4-channel Rx,
brushed ESC, and twin 1 gram servos, also
includes a micro servo connection for attaching
a servo or 1S brushless ESC for alternative control of throttle. Intended for small electric
aircraft, it’s compatible with all Tactic brand 2.4GHz aircraft transmitters, and other brand
radios which include the SLT protocol.

SERVO COMBO BOARD
INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS
Refer to the instructions with the aircraft to determine the optimum position for installing
this combination board.
IMPORTANT! Pay close attention to how this board is oriented inside the model. Make sure to keep the antenna and
both on-board servo arms unobstructed at all times.
TR1424
BATTERY: Only use 1S LiPo batteries having a micro style
connector. Connect the battery to the red/black wire having the
white 1S socket. Make sure the battery is fully charged prior to use.
ELEVATOR AND RUDDER SERVOS: The 1g servos are directly
controlled by channels 2 and 4. Connect the servo arms as
described in the model’s instructions, making sure both output
arms can make their full range of movement without obstruction.
Make sure the reversing setting in the Tx allows each servo to
rotate in the proper direction.
AILERON CONTROL: If aileron control is needed, connect a
separate servo with micro connector to the “CH1 aileron” socket.
THROTTLE CONTROL:
current rating of 4 amps and is directly connected to the throttle
LINK THE RECEIVER TO THE TACTIC/SLT COMPATIBLE TRANSMITTER
The TR1424 includes an auto-linking process (no linking pushbutton). For best results, link the TR1424 to the intended transmitter
before arriving at the fl ying site, then remove power. The linking procedure is as follows:
1. Turn on the Tx.
2. With the TR1424 close by the transmitter,
apply power to the Rx.
3. The TR1424 will automatically attempt
to link to the Tx. The LED should fl ash
once and then stay on when linked.
SYSTEM AND RANGE CHECK
Check the instruction manual included with the Tactic radio for the proper steps to perform a system check before fl ight. The TR1424 receiver
has an operating range of approximately 725 feet (225 meters) if the receiver/antenna are unobstructed by other components in the airplane,
and approximately 215 feet (65 meters) if obstructed. Leave the Rx antenna as unobstructed by other components as much as possible.
Always perform a signal range check to ensure a good link exists between the transmitter and receiver at distance. Once fl ight is
complete, immediately disconnect power from the aircraft before removing power from the transmitter.
channel. Make sure to set the transmitter’s throttle channel to reverse
for proper control (idle to full throttle). Connect the motor to the
lead with twin male terminals noted as “Brushed motor”, with the
red wire being positive (+) polarity and blue wire being negative (-).
To arm the ESC, once power is applied to the TR1424 with the
Tx throttle stick at minimum the ESC will beep once. Move the
Tx throttle stick to maximum and the ESC will again beep once.
Move the throttle stick back to minimum and the ESC should
beep twice, indicating the ESC is now armed.
For alternative throttle control, a separate micro servo or 1S
brushless ESC with micro connector can be connected to the “CH3
The built-in brushed ESC has a maximum
WARNING! Do NOT apply power to the receiver before the intended transmitter is turned on! Otherwise, the TR1424
may try to auto-link with another transmitter in the area which might also be broadcasting an SLT signal. Failure to do so
could result in the model’s motor/propeller suddenly starting to spin unexpectedly, and cause bodily injury.
4. Test for proper Tx/Rx functionality
before use. If a solid link doesn’t exist,
repeat steps 1–3. The TR1424 will link
to the nearest Tactic SLT transmitter
which is broadcasting a signal. If not
pre-linked to the proper Tx, move to a
location where the TR1424 can only see
the signal from the intended transmitter
and re-link.
WARNING! Always make sure that power is applied to the transmitter BEFORE applying power to the receiver, and
the Tx throttle stick is at minimum (idle) position. Failure to do so could result in the model becoming uncontrollable and
cause a safety hazard. It’s best to check the system with the propeller removed from the aircraft.
alternate throttle” socket. Confi gure the ESC as per the instructions
included with the ESC.
If the Rx suddenly loses signal from the Tx,
or the Rx is powered without the transmitter
being turned on or no other SLT transmitter
in the area is broadcasting a signal, the
receiver will go to failsafe mode: The
TR1424’s failsafe function forces all outputs
to hold their last recognized position if the
signal from the Tx somehow becomes lost.
