SECTION 6 ERROR MESSAGES
6.1 INTRODUCTION
In this section, error monitor ing method and error r ecovery method on the Main Unit are described.
6.2 OUTLINE
The XT-2000i has the following basic concept on er ror processing:
1. The XT-2000i has two basic analysis modes: Manual Analysis and Sampler Analysis. W ithout special notice, Capillary Analysis based on Manual Analysis and Closed Analysis on Sampler Analysis.
2. Errors are roughly classified int o 2 categories: Analysis Error and Not Ready. Depending on the timing of t he error, either or both error categories apply.
1) An Analysis Error, occurs during analysis, af fects analysis result.
2) An Not Ready error is a situation where the analysis operation is impossible to continue.
3. Errors are reset by two means: (a)using Short Cut Key (b) performing an individual Service sequence. If error occurs, 1) is displayed.
1) After the operator eliminating the cause of the error, the Er ror Reset Sequence is automatically perform ed by using Short Cut Key.
2) After the operator eliminating the cause of the error, operat or performs the corrective service sequence to r eset the error.
4. The reason why Sampler Analysis is interrupted or stopped, and which sample is influenced by the error are clearly indicated.
5. When Sampler Analysis is re-started, conf irmation message f or the re-analysis sample will be displayed.
6. When an err or occurs, it is possible to analyze on the mode which is not effected by the error. " Not Ready", however, is displayed at Sampler Analysis because the Sampler Analysis is executed under work list.

6.3 ERROR CLASSIFICATION AND XT-2000i'S ACTION
The error status on XT -2000i are classified and defined as below: A. Analysis Error (Sampler stops and rack should be r e-set)
Error Message: "Analysis Error"
[Action for Error]
The analysis data with the error status is indicated and stored, and the system becomes ready automatically when all the analysis sequences are completed. During sampler analysis, the sequence after shif ting the sample rack are suspended and the messages [Check Stored Data] and [Analysis Error] are displayed.
[Data Output]
[– – – –] is indicated at the related item data to the abnormal sample data.
[Resume Function]
The error status (error is resolved or not) cannot be verified until the analysis isperformed again. To restart the sam pler analysis, resetting the rack by the operat or is required.
B. Error making t he analysis disabled (Sampler analysis is
interrupted) Error Message: "Analysis Error"
[Action for Error]
The error status is displayed on the IPU, and the analysis for the sample which is currently perfor med is continued, however, the next analysis is suspended and the instrument becomes ready when all the analysis sequences are completed. Sampler Analysis Sequence stops bef ore shifting Rack.
[Data Output]
The analyzed data is output normally.
[Resume Function]
The system becomes ready by using Short Cut Key when the corrective action is taken.
C. Error making the analysis disabled (Sam pler stops and rack
should be re-set) Error Message: "Analysis Error"
[Action for Error]
The error status is displayed on the IPU, and the analysis for the sample which is currently perfor med is continued, however, the next analysis is suspended and the instrument becomes ready when all the analysis sequences are completed. Sampler Analysis Sequence stops bef ore shifting Rack.
[Data Output]
The analyzed data is output normally.
[Resume Function]
The system becomes ready by using Short Cut Key when the corrective action is taken. Auto resume is not perf ormed. To restart the sampler analysis, reset ting the rack by the operator is required.
D. Analysis Error caused by abnormal analysis and next analysis
is not available Error Message: “Analysis Error” and “Not Ready”.
[Action for Error]
The analysis data with the error status is indicated and stored, and the system becomes ready when all the analysis sequences are completed. W hen an error occurs during sampler analysis, the sequence af ter shifting the sample rack are suspended and the messages [Check Stored Data] and [AnalysisError] are displayed.
[Data Output]
[– – – –] is indicated at the related item data to the abnormal sample data.
[Resume Function]
The system becomes Ready by using Short Cut Key when the corrective action is taken. Some error s are corrected only by the power OFF/ON. To restart the sampler analysis, resetting the rack by the operat or is required.
E. Messages requiring attention
XT-Series S/M 6-2 January 2006
Page 8
[Action for Error]
An analysis can be continued, however, a message is displayed in order to prompt the maintenance. T he alarm does not sound. Sampler analysis is not interrupted.
[Data Output]
The analyzed data is output normally.
[Resume Function]
The message disappears when the corrective action is taken.
F. Messages requiring maintenance
[Action for Error]
An analysis can be continued, however, a message is displayed in order to prompt the maintenance. T he alarm does not sound. Sampler analysis is not interrupted.
[Data Output]
The analyzed data is output normally.
[Resume Function]
The message disappears by resetting the counter by the operator. The counters f or the flow cell rinsing and shutdown are automatically reset whenperforming each sequence.
