Before use

AC adapter is designed for use with the Sony “CLIÉ” handheld. The AC adapter provides for convenient mobility, allowing you to use the CLIÉ handheld wherever you go.

Charge the battery with the AC adapter.

• Since the supplied AC adapter automatically converts both frequency and voltage, an additional converter is not needed when charging the battery. (AC 100 to 240 V, 50-60 Hz)

Note

Do not connect the supplied AC adapter to the transformer designed for traveling purposes. It may result in an excessive heat and malfunction.

Connecting the plug adapter

• Always keep the metal contacts clean.

• Do not disassemble or convert the unit.

• While the unit is in use, it gets warm. This is normal.

• Keep the unit away from TV or AM receivers, as it will disturb reception.

On cleaning

Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth, or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or benzine, which may damage the finish.

Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN connector of the plug adapter (1), then connect the plug adapter to the interface connector of your CLIÉ (2).

Notes on use

• Do not place the unit in locations that are:

– Extremely hot or cold – Dusty or dirty –Very humid –Vibrating – Strong magnetic fields – Sandy – Exposed to direct sunlight

• Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit.

• Unplug the AC adapter from the AC outlet when not in use for a long time. To disconnect the power cord, pull it out by the plug. Never pull the cord itself.

• Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of this unit. If this happens, a short circuit may occur and the unit may be damaged.

• Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or if it has been dropped or damaged.

Avant l’utilisation

L’adaptateur secteur est conçu pour être utilisé avec l’ordinateur de poche “CLIÉ” Sony. L’adaptateur secteur vous offre une mobilité pratique, vous permettant ainsi d’utiliser l’ordinateur de poche CLIÉ n’importe où.

Charger la batterie avec l’adaptateur secteur.

• Etant donné que l’adaptateur secteur fourni convertit automatiquement la fréquence et la tension, un convertisseur supplémentaire n’est pas nécessaire pour charger la batterie. (CA 100 à 240 V, 50-60 Hz)

Remarque

Remarques concernant l’utilisation

• Ne placez pas l’appareil à des endroits :

• Débranchez l’adaptateur secteur de la prise murale si vous prévoyez de ne pas l’utiliser pendant une longue période. Pour débrancher le câble d’alimentation, saisissez-le par la fiche; ne tirez jamais sur le câble proprement dit.

•Veillez à ce qu’aucun objet métallique n’entre en contact avec les composants métalliques de cet appareil. Si cela se produit, un court-circuit risque de survenir et d’endommager l’appareil.

• Ne faites pas fonctionner l’appareil avec un cordon endommagé ou s’il est tombé et a subi des dommages.

• En cours d’utilisation, une augmentation de la chaleur de l’appareil est normale.

Nettoyage

Nettoyez l’appareil avec un chiffon doux et sec ou avec un chiffon doux légèrement imprégné d’une solution détergente neutre. N’utilisez aucun type de solvant comme de l’alcool ou de l’essence, qui risquerait d’abîmer la finition du boîtier.

Vorbereitungen

Das Netzteil ist für den CLIÉ-Handheld von Sony. Das Netzteil bietet Funktionen, die es Ihnen erlauben, den CLIÉ-Handheld auch unterwegs jederzeit zu benutzen.

Den Akku mithilfe des Netzteils laden.

• Das mitgelieferte Netzteil konvertiert automatisch Frequenz und Spannung. Daher ist zum Laden des Akkus kein zusätzlicher Konverter erforderlich. Das Netzteil ist auf 100 bis 240 Volt Wechselstrom und 50 bis 60 Hz ausgelegt.

Wenn Sie das mitgelieferte Netzteil mit dem CLIÉ-Handheld verbinden, wird der Akku automatisch geladen. Die Akkuanzeige im Applications Launcher wechselt zu .

An eine Netzsteckdose anschließen

Wenn Sie das Netzteil auch im Ausland einsetzen wollen, müssen Sie unter Umständen einen Netzadapterstecker erwerben, der in die Steckdosen des Reiselandes passt.

Hinweise zur Verwendung

Hinweis

Schließen Sie das mitgelieferte Netzteil nicht an einen Reisestromrichter an. Andernfalls kann es zu einer Überhitzung und anderen Fehlfunktionen kommen.

Anschließen des Zwischensteckers

Schließen Sie das Netzteil an den Gleichstromeingang DC IN des Zwischensteckers an (1), und schließen Sie dann den Zwischenstecker an den Schnittstellenanschluss des CLIÉ an (2).

So lösen Sie das Netzteil vom CLIÉ-Handheld

Drücken Sie auf beide Seiten des Anschlusses und ziehen Sie ihn heraus.

• Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht an einen Ort, an dem es folgenden Bedingungen ausgesetzt ist:

– extremen Temperaturen – Staub oder Schmutz – hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit –Vibrationen – starken Magnetfeldern – Sand – direktem Sonnenlicht

• Setzen Sie das Gerät keinen mechanischen Erschütterungen aus, und lassen Sie es nicht fallen.

• Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Netzsteckdose, wenn Sie das Netzteil längere Zeit nicht benutzen wollen. Um das Netzkabel vom Netzstrom zu trennen, ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Netzsteckdose. Ziehen Sie nicht am Kabel.

• Achten Sie darauf, dass keine Metallgegenstände mit den Metallteilen dieses Geräts in Berührung kommen. Andernfalls kann es zu einem Kurzschluss kommen, und das Gerät könnte beschädigt werden.

•Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn das Kabel oder das Gerät selbst beschädigt oder das Gerät fallengelassen wurde.

• Halten Sie die Metallkontakte sauber.

• Zerlegen Sie das Gerät nicht, und nehmen Sie keine Veränderungen daran vor.

• Das Gerät erwärmt sich während des Betriebs. Dies ist keine Fehlfunktion.

• Halten Sie das Gerät von Fernseh- oder AM-Empfängern fern. Es stört den Fernseh- bzw. AM-Empfang.

Reinigung

Reinigen Sie das Gerät mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch oder einem weichen Tuch, das Sie leicht mit einem milden Reinigungsmittel angefeuchtet haben. Verwenden Sie keine Lösungsmittel wie Alkohol oder Benzin. Diese könnten die Oberfläche angreifen.
