Location of the identification label
Labels for Model No., and Power Supply rating (in accordance
with applicable safety regulat ion) and Manufacturing d ate are
located on the rear of the TV.
Labels for AC adapter M odel No. and Serial No. are located on the
bottom of AC adapter.

Installation/Set-up
Install and use the TV s et in accordance with the instruction s
below in order to avoid any risk of fire, electrical shock or damage
and/or in juries.
Installation
• The TV se t should be install ed near an easily access ible AC
power outlet (mains socket).
• Pla ce the TV set on a stable, leve l surface to avoid it from falling
down and cause pe rsonal injury or damag e to the TV.
• Only qualified service personnel should carry out wall
installations.
• For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended that yo u use
Sony accessories, includ ing:
Wall-M ount Bracket
SU-WL 450
Wall-Mount Adapter (India on ly)
• Be sure to use the screws supplied with the Wall-Mount Bracket
when attaching the Mounting Hooks to the TV set. The suppli ed
screws are designed as indicated by illustration when measured
from the attaching sur face of the Mounting Hoo k.
The diameter and length of the screws differ depending on the
Wall-Mount Bracket model.
Use of screws other than t hose supplied may result in internal
damage to the TV se t or cause it to fall, etc.
Tran spo rti ng
• Before transpor ting the TV set, disconnect al l cables.
• Two or three people are needed to transport a large TV set.
• When transpo rting the TV set by hand, hold it as shown below.
Do not put stress on the LCD panel and the frame around the
screen.
• When transpo rting the TV set, do not sub ject it to jolts or
excessive vibration.
• When transpo rting the TV set for repairs o r when moving, pack
it using the original carton and packing material.
Ventilation
• Never cover the ventilation holes or insert anything in the
cabin et.
• Leave space around the TV set as shown below.
• It is strongly recomme nded that you use a Sony Wall-Mount
Bracket in order to provide adequate air-circulation.

Do not lay th e TV set flat, install upside down, backwards , or
sideways.
Do not place th e TV set on a shelf, rug, bed or in a cl oset.

such as newspapers, etc.

AC power cord (mains lead)
Handle the AC power cord (mai ns lead) and outlet (main s socket)
as follows in order to avoi d any risk of fire, electrical shock or
damage and/or injuries:
The shape of AC power plug (mains plug), which is supplied
with the TV set, varies depending on the regions. Be sure to
connect the appropriate suppli ed AC power cord (mains lead)
with the plug that fits into th e AC power outlet (mains so cket).
Use only Sony supplied AC power cords (mains lead), not those
of other brands.
Insert the plug fully into the AC power outlet (mains socket).
Operate the TV se t on a 110–240 V AC supply on ly.
When wiring cables, be sure to unplug the AC power cord
(mains lead) for yo ur safety and take care not to catch your feet
on the cables.
Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) from the AC power
outlet (mains socket) before working on or m oving the TV set.
Keep the AC po wer cord (mains lead) away from h eat sources.
Unplug the AC power plug (mains plug) and clean it regularly. If
the plug is covered with dust and it picks up moisture, its
insulation may deterio rate, which could result in a fire.
Note
• Do not use the s upplied AC power cord (mains l ead) on any
other equipment.
• Do not pinch, bend, or twist the AC power cord (m ains lead)
excessively. The core conductors may be exposed or broken.
• Do not modify the AC power cord (mains lead).
• Do not put anythi ng heavy on the AC power cord (ma ins lead).
• Do not pull on th e AC power cord (mains lead) itsel f when
disconnecting the AC power cord (mains lead).
• Do not connect to o many appliances to the sam e AC power
outlet (m ains soc ket).
• Do not use a po or fitting AC power outlet (mai ns socket).
NOTE ON AC ADAPTER
Warning
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this
apparat us to rain or m oistu re.
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not place objects filled with
liquids, such as vas es, on the apparatus.
Do not install this equipm ent in a confined space, such a s a
bookshelf or similar unit.
• Please ensu re that the AC power outlet (mains socket) is
installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
• Be sure to use the supplied AC adapter and AC power cord
(mains lead). Other wise it may cause a mal function.
• Connect the AC ad apter to an easily accessible AC powe r outlet
(mains socket).
• Do not coil the AC pow er cord (mains
lead) around the AC adapter. The core
wire may be cut and/o r it may cause a
malfunction of the TV.
• Do not touch the AC adapter with wet hands.
• If you notice an ab normality in the AC adapter, disconne ct it
from the AC power outlet (m ains socket) immediately.
• The set is not dis connected from the AC source as long as it is
connected to the AC power outl et (mains socket), ev en if the set
itself has been turned off.
• As the AC adapter w ill become warm when it is used fo r a long
time, you may feel hot when touching it by hand.
Prohibited Usage
Do not install/use the TV s et in locations, environments or
situations such as t hose listed below, or the TV set ma y
malfunction and cause a fire, electrical shock, damage an d/or
injuries.
Location:
• Outdoors (in d irect sunlight), at the seashore, on a sh ip or other
vessel, inside a vehicle, in medical institutions, unstable
locations, near water, rain, moisture or s moke.
• If the TV is placed in the changing room of
a public bath or hot spring, the TV may be
damaged by airborne sulphur, etc.
• For best picture quality, do not expose the screen to direct
illumination or sunlight.
• Avoid moving the TV from a cold area to a warm area. Sudden
room temperature changes ma y cause moisture condensation .
This may cause the TV to show poor picture and/or poor colour.
Should this occur, allow mo isture to evaporate completely
before powering the TV on.
Environment:
Places that are hot, humid, or excessively dusty; where insects
may enter; where it might be exposed to mechanical vibration,
near flammable objects (candles, etc.). The TV set shall not be
exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with
liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the TV.
Do not place the TV in a humid or
dusty space, or in a room with oily
smoke or steam (near cooking tables
or humidifiers). Fire, electric shock, or
warping may res ult.
Do not ins tall the TV in places subject to extreme te mperature,
such as in direct sun light, near a radiator or a heating vent. The
TV may overheat in suc h conditions which can cause
deformation of the enclosure and/or TV malfunction.
Situation:
• Do not use when your hands are wet, with the cabinet removed,
or with attachments not recommended by the manu facturer.
Disconnect the TV set from AC power outlet (mains socket) and
antenna during light ning storms.
• Do not instal l the TV so that it sticks out
into an open space. Injury or damage
from a person or object bumping in to
the TV may result.
Broken pieces:
• Do n ot throw anything at the TV set. T he screen glass may break
by the impact and cause serious injury.
• If the surface of th e TV set cracks, do not touch it until you ha ve
unplugged the AC power cord (mains lead). Otherwise electric
shock may result.
When not in use
• If you will not be using the TV set for several d ays, the TV set
should be disconnected from the AC power (mains) for
environmental and safety reasons.
• As the TV s et is not disconnected from the AC power (m ains)
when the TV set is just turned off, pull the plug from the AC
power outlet (mains socket) to disconnect the TV set
completely.
• However, some T V sets may have features that require the TV
set to be left in standby to w ork correctly.
For children
• Do not allow children to climb on the TV s et.
• Keep small accessorie s out of the reach of children, so that they
are not mistakenly swallowe d.
If the following problems occur...
Turn off the T V set and unplug the AC pow er cord (mains lead)
immediately if any of the following prob lems occur.
Ask your dealer or Sony service centre to have it checked by
qualified service personnel.
When:
AC power cord (mai ns lead) is damaged.
Poor fitting o f AC power outlet (mains so cket).
TV set is damaged by being dropped, hit or having something
thrown at it.
Any liquid or solid object falls through openings in the cabinet.

About LCD Monitor Temperature
When the LCD Monitor is used for an extended period, the panel
surrounds become warm. You may feel hot wh en touching there
by the hand.
WALL-MOUNT ADAPTER
Below information show s the correct handling of the Wall-Mount
Adapter. Be sure to read this information thoroughly and use the
Wall-Mount Adapter correctly.
To C u st o mer s:
Be sure to observe the following precautions for safety to prevent
a serious injury through fire, electric shock, the product toppling
over, or the product dropping.
• Be sure to subcontract th e installation to licensed contractors
and keep small children aw ay during installation.
• Be sure to subcontract m oving or dismounting o f the TV to
licensed contractors.
• Do not remove screw s, etc., after mounting the TV.
• Do not make alteratio ns to the parts of the Wall-Moun t Adapter.
• Do not mount any equipment other than th e specified product.
• Do not apply any load other than the TV on the Wall-Mount
Adapter.
• Do not lean on or hang from the TV.
• Do not hand le the TV with excessive force during cleaning or
maintenance.

The following instructions are for Sony dealers and contractors
only. Be sure to read safety precautions described below and pay
special attention to safety duri ng the installation, maintena nce
and checking of this prod uct.
• Do not install the Wall- Mount Adapter on
wall surfaces where the corners or the
sides of the TV are protruding away from
the wall surface.
• Do not install the TV over or under an air conditioner.
• Be sure to install th e Wall-Mount Adapter
securely to the wall following the instructions in
this instruction man ual. If any of the screws are
loose or fall out, the Wall-Mo unt Adapter may
fall and cause injury or property damage.
• Be sure to use the supplied screws and
attachment par ts properly following the
instructio ns given in this instruct ion manual. If
you use substit ute items, the TV may fall and ca use bodily injury
to someone or dam age to the TV.
• Be sure to assemb le the bracket properly following th e
instructed procedure explained in this instruction manual.
• Be sure to tighten the screws securely in the design ated
position.
• Be careful not to su bject the TV to shock during installation.
• Be sure to insta ll the TV on a wall that is both perpendicu lar and
flat.
• After proper installation of the TV, secure the cables properly.
• Do not allow the AC power cord (mains
lead) or the connecting cables to be
pinched as the internal conductors may
become exposed and cause a short
circuit or an electrical break.
Precautions
Viewing the TV
• For best picture quality, do not expose the screen to direct
illumination or sunlight.
• View the TV in mode rate light, as viewing the TV in poor light or
during long period of tim e, strains your eyes.
• When usin g headphones, adju st the volume so as to avo id
excessive levels, as hearing damage may result.
LCD Screen
• Although the LCD screen is made with high-precision
technology and 99.99% or more of the pixels are effective, black
dots may appear or bright points of light (red, blue, or green)
may appear constantly on the LCD screen. This is a structural
property of the LCD screen and is not a malfunction.
• Do not push or scratch the front filter, or place objects on top of
this TV set. The image may be uneven or the LCD screen may be
damaged.
• If this TV set is used in a cold place, a smear may occur in the
picture or the picture may become dark. This does not indicate a
failure. These phenomena disappear as the temperature rises.
• Ghosting may occur when still pictures are displayed
continuously. It may disappear after a few m oments.
• The screen and cabinet get warm when this TV set is in use. This
is not a malfunction.
• The LCD screen contain s a small amount of liqu id crystal. Some
fluorescent tubes used in t his TV set also contain mercur y
(except for LED backlight LCD TV). Follow you r local ordinances
and regulations for dispos al.
Handling and cleaning the screen surface/
cabinet of the TV set
Be sure to unplug the AC powe r cord (mains lead) connected to
the TV set from AC power outlet (mains socket) before cl eaning.
To avoid material degradation or screen coating de gradation,
observe the following precautions.
• To remove dust from the screen surface/cabinet, wipe gently
with a soft cloth. If dust is persistent, wipe with a soft cloth
slightly mo istened with a diluted mild de tergent solution .
• Never spray water or detergent directly on
the TV set. It may drip to the bottom of the
screen or exterior parts and enter the TV set,
and may cause damage to t he TV set.
• Never use any type of abrasive pad, alkaline/acid cleaner,
scouring powder, or volatile solve nt, such as alcohol, benzene,
thinner or in secticide. Us ing such materials or main taining
prolonged contact with rubbe r or vinyl materials may result in
damage to the screen su rface and cabinet material.
• Periodic vacuuming of the vent ilation openi ngs is
recommended to ensure to prope r ventilation.
• When adj usting the angle of the TV set, move it slowly so as to
prevent the TV set from moving or slipping off from its table
stand.
Optional Equipment
Keep optional components or any equipment emitting
electromagnetic radiation away from the TV set. Otherwise
picture distortion and/or noisy sound may occur.
Wireless Function of the unit
• Do not operate this u nit near medical equipm ent (pacemaker,
etc.), as malfunction of th e medical equipment m ay result.
• Altho ugh this un it transmits/rece ives scrambled signals, be
careful of unauthorised i nterception. We cannot be responsible
for any trouble as a result.

Caution about handling the remote control
• Observe th e correct polarity when inserting batteri es.
• Do not use different ty pes of batteries together or mix old and
new batteries.
• Dispose o f batteries in an environmentally fri endly way. Certain
regions may regulate the d isposal of batteries. Pleas e consult
your local autho rity.
• Handle the remote control with care. Do not drop or step on it,
or spill liquid of any kind onto it.
• Do no t place the remote control in a location n ear a heat source,
a place subject to direct sun light, or a damp room.
WALL-MOUNT ADAPTER
• If you u se the TV installed on the Wall-Mount Ad apter for a long
time, the wall behin d or above the TV m ay become discolou red
or the wallpaper m ay come unstuck, depending on the m aterial
of the wall.
• If the Wall- Mount Adapte r is removed afte r installing i t on the
wall, the screw hol es remain.
• Do not use the Wall-M ount Adapter in a place where it is
subjected to mechanical vibrations.

You can select among three clock display
modes by selecting [Clock Display] in the [Photo
Frame Settings] (page 17).
Note
• This TV does not have a battery powered backup for
the clock. Therefore, if there is a power failure or if
you disconnect the power cord, be sure to reset the
current date and time.

Duration
To save power, the TV continually plays back in
Photo-Frame Mode for up to 24 hours before
powering off automatically. After automatic
power off, do not use Photo-Frame Mode for at
least one hour to avoid panel burn-in.
You can change the setting of the [Duration] in
the [Photo Frame Settings] (page 17).
To avoid panel burn-in, the position of the
photo, clock and calendar are switched
automatically every hour.
Listening to FM Radio
1 Press HOME.
2 Press / then to select
[Applications].
3 Press / then to select [FM Radio].
4 Press PROG +/– to select an FM radio
station.
To exit FM Radio mode
1 Press RETURN.
Presetting Radio Stations
When you use FM Radio function for the first
time, press HOME and select [Settings]
[System Settings]

To change preset radio stations
1 Press OPTIONS in FM Radio mode.
2 Press / then to select [FM Radio
Presets].

• If the station has a noisy sound, you may be able to
improve the sound quality by pressing
• When an FM s tereo programme has static n oise, press
AUDIO until [Mono] appears. There will be no stereo
effect, but the noise will be reduced.

Connect, copy and view favourite photos on TV
using your devices (eg. smart phones or
tablets).
1 Press HOME.
2 Press / then to select [Photo
Share].
3 Follow the instructions on the screen to
connect your device to the TV.
4 Open web browser on device after all
connections are established, then follow
the instructions on the screen to access
URL.
To display photo on TV
1 Tap on your device to start.
2 Select a photo, then tap the icon on
your device.
To save a photo displayed on TV
1 Tap thumbnail on your device, then hold
the photo to open the context menu.
2 Select [Save].
Note
• Thumbnail history in your device will keep up to 5
photos.
Connect USB flash drive to keep up to 50 photos.
• Up to 10 smart phones or tablets can be connected to
the TV at the same time.
• Maximum file size of each photo is 10 MB.
