earset. Before operating the unit, please read this manual
thoroughly and retain it for future reference.

What's Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a new technology that enables wireless data
communication by mobile phones, computers or other
mobile devices.
Bluetooth wireless technology operates within a range of
about 10 meters* (about 30 feet).
* Obstacles (body, metal, wall, etc.) or reception conditions
may adversely affect the usable range.

• Bluetooth communication may be affected by the
conditions below.
– Obstacles between the Bluetooth earset and the
Bluetooth mobile phone
: Body, metal, walls, etc.

: A place where a wireless LAN is installed, a

Charging the units
The Bluetooth earset contains a rechargeable Lithium-Ion
battery, that should be charged before using for the first
time.
1 Dock the Bluetooth earset with the Battery
charger.
2 Connect the supplied AC power adaptor to
the DC IN 4.5 V jack on the Battery
charger.
When the AC power adaptor is connected to an AC
outlet, the unit will turn off automatically.

3 Make sure that the indicator lights up
green.
If the LED on the Bluetooth earset does not light up
green, dock again, and make sure the indicator lights
up green.
Charging is completed in about 2.5 hours* and the
indicator goes off.

Caution
If this unit detects a problem while charging, the LED may
blink green, and will turn off although the charge is not
complete.
Check for the following causes:
–Environmental temperature exceeds the range of 0˚C-
40˚C (32˚F-104˚F).
– There is a problem with the battery etc.
In this case, charge again within the above-mentioned
temperature range.
If the problem persists, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
Notes
•The unit cannot operate while charging.
• Charge in an environmental temperature of between
0˚C and 40˚C (between 32˚F and 104˚F).
•Avoid exposure to temperature extremes, direct sunlight,
moisture, sand, dust or mechanical shock. Never leave in
a car parked in the sun.
• Use only the supplied AC power adaptor. Do not use any
other AC power adaptor.
Polarity of the plug
The low battery display
The LED display color of the unit changes from blue to
green when battery charge is low.
In this case, recharge the battery immediately.
After use, recharge the unit frequently.

Note
If the life of the built-in rechargeable battery drops to half
the normal length, the battery should be replaced. Consult
your nearest Sony dealer for replacement of the
rechargeable battery.
Pairing the units
To pair the Bluetooth earset with a
Bluetooth mobile phone
The Bluetooth earset can pair directly with a Bluetooth
mobile phone.
Do the following.
1 Place the Bluetooth earset and the
Bluetooth mobile phone close together
within 1 m.
2 While the Bluetooth earset is turned off,
press and hold the Multifunction button.
The LED will blink in blue for the first 7 seconds
(approx.). Keep pressed until the LED blinks blue and
green.
3 Search the Bluetooth earset by the
Bluetooth mobile phone.
When the Bluetooth mobile phone detects the
Bluetooth earset, “DR-BT1” will appear in the display
of the Bluetooth mobile phone.
4 Select “DR-BT1” in the list displayed on
your Bluetooth mobile phone.
If “DR-BT1” is not displayed, repeat steps 1 to 3.
5 Input the passkey* [0000] so that passkey
of “DR-BT1” will be requested to be input
from your Bluetooth mobile phone.
*Passkey may also be called the following.
– Pass code, PIN code, PIN number, Password.
6 If the LED of the Bluetooth earset changes
from blinking blue and green to blinking
blue slowly (every 3 seconds), the pairing
has completed.
The unit will enter the standby mode. The display of
the Bluetooth mobile phone will usually show that
pairing has completed.
Notes
•To pair the units, pairing mode should be used.
Time out for pairing mode the unit is about 60 seconds.
• Refer to the manual supplied with your Bluetooth mobile
phone.

Operating the system
Wearing the earset
1 Hook the Bluetooth earset around your
ear, as you would glasses.
2 Adjust the position of the Bluetooth earset
to fit comfortably.
Changing the direction of the
hanger
This unit can be worn on the right or left ear by the
following procedure.
Example: When changing over from right to left ear.
1 Holding the housing firmly, unlatch the
hanger assembly.
2 Holding the housing, rotate the hanger,
and then pull out in the direction of the
arrow.

3 Rotate the housing to the other side.
4 Attach the hanger in the direction of the
arrow as illustrated below.
Note
The housing and the hanger are marked left (L) and right
(R). For example, when using the left ear, the housing is set
in the L position, and the hanger is attached with the L
mark visible.
Tip
The unit comes with 2 hanger sizes to ensure a comfortable
fit.

Notes
• The LED color of the unit changes from blue to green
when battery charge is low.
• Communication may sometimes not occur, even though
the Multifunction button on the Bluetooth earset is
pressed. In such a case, the LED double blinks (blue) 3
to 5 times, after which the Bluetooth earset enters
standby mode.
Failure to communicate will occur in the following cases:
– The Bluetooth earset is not paired with your Bluetooth
mobile phone.
– The Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth mobile
phone is not activated.
Operating the units
To use this unit with your
Bluetooth mobile phone
The Bluetooth earset can communicate directly with your
Bluetooth mobile phone. For details, refer to the manual
supplied with your Bluetooth mobile phone.
Note
The Bluetooth earset should be paired with the Bluetooth
mobile phone beforehand.
A Prepare the Bluetooth earset
Press and hold the Multifunction button on the
Bluetooth earset for about 7 seconds.
When the LED blinks blue rapidly (for 1 second), release
the button. The LED starts to blink blue slowly (every 3
seconds). A low/high beep sounds when the unit turns on.
Note
Take care that the Multifunction button is not held down for
more than about 10 seconds, otherwise pairing mode is
entered.
B Prepare the Bluetooth mobile
phone
Confirm the Bluetooth mobile phone is turned
on. Activate the Bluetooth function of the
Bluetooth mobile phone.
For details, refer to the manual supplied with your
Bluetooth mobile phone.
C Connect between the
Bluetooth earset and the
Bluetooth mobile phone
With the Bluetooth earset and the Bluetooth mobile phone
already paired, Bluetooth communication connects by
pressing the Multifunction button.
In the following cases, commuicate again between the
Bluetooth earset and the Bluetooth mobile phone.
– the Bluetooth earset is turned off
– the Bluetooth mobile phone (or its Bluetooth function) is
turned off
– the Bluetooth function on the Bluetooth mobile phone
and the Bluetooth earset are in sleep mode
– Bluetooth communication has terminated
Note
Refer to the manual supplied with your Bluetooth mobile
phone about Bluetooth communication and the Bluetooth
function.
D Call
To call: Use the keypad of your Bluetooth mobile phone to
dial the number, then press the call button. If there is no
sound from the Bluetooth earset, press the Multifunction
button.
Tip
It is possible to call in various ways, depending on the
Bluetooth mobile phone. Refer to the manual supplied with
your Bluetooth mobile phone.
–You can call by pressing the Multifunction button using
the voice-dial function when in standby.
–You can call a specific number by pressing the
Multifunction button when in standby.
–You can call to the last number by holding the Volume +
or - button in standby (only when using the Hands-free
profile).
To receive a call: When the telephone is ringing,
Bluetooth communication will connect automatically, and
sound will be heard through the Bluetooth earset.
Press the Multifunction button on the Bluetooth earset.
Note
If you pressed the call button on the Bluetooth mobile
phone, some Bluetooth mobile phones may have handset
use priority. In this case, set to talk with the Bluetooth
earset by pressing the Multifunction button, or by operating
the Bluetooth mobile phone.
For details, refer to the manual supplied with your
Bluetooth mobile phone.
To terminate a call: You can end a call by pressing the
Multifunction button on the Bluetooth earset.
In the following cases, audio communication terminates
automatically.
– the end button on the Bluetooth mobile phone is pressed
– the recipient hangs up the calling
E Shut down the Bluetooth
earset
Press and hold the Multifunction button on the
Bluetooth earset until the LED turns off.
When the unit has turned off, the LED on the Bluetooth
earset blinks green rapidly (for 2 seconds). A high/low beep
sounds when the unit turns off.
At this time, the current volume level is stored.
Note
If the unit turns off when charging, the current volume level
is not stored.
To adjust the volume (To pair with
the Bluetooth mobile phone)
Press the VOLUME + or – while audio
connection.
A beep corresponding to the selected volume is heard every
time you press either button.
When the volume setting is maximum or minimum, the
beep does not sound.

Note
•The volume does not change although the beep sound is
heard when not connecting. (only when using the
Headset profile)
• When the sound is low, raise the volume of your mobile
phone. The sound will be clearer.
Operation of the Bluetooth

The operation of the buttons on the Bluetooth earset varies
depending on the pairing device. There are 2 profiles for
Bluetooth mobile phone pairing. Refer to the manual
supplied with your Bluetooth mobile phone.

How to use the car
attachment
The car attachment (supplied) can be used to hold the
Battery charger, by installing it in the vent of the air
conditioner of your car.
This is convenient for using while driving.

Notes
•The car attachment may not install besides the above. Do
not install the unit by force if installation is difficult. This
may break a fin.
•Take care not to install or remove the unit by force. A fin
may break.
• If necessary, protect the dashboard and the air
conditioner vent with tape, etc., so as not to damage
anything.
• Install this unit in a place that does not disturb the air bag
function or your driving.
• Be sure to turn off the vent’s auto-swing function if your
car has one.
To install the car attachment
1 Attach the hook to the rear of the
attachment. Ensure it is the correct way
round. (See illustration.)
2 Attach the spacer under the hook firmly
after peeling off the double-sided tape.

Additional information
Disposing of the
Bluetooth earset
For environmental conservation, be sure to remove the
built-in rechargeable battery from the unit before you
dispose of them, and dispose of the battery appropriately.
1 Remove the two screws from the rear.
2 Push hard around the arrow as illustrated
to unlatch the unit assembly.
Precautions
•Avoid using Bluetooth earset with the volume turned up
for an extended period of time. Doing so can damage
your hearing. Listening at high volumes may also cause
howling depending on the equipment connected with the
earset. It is advisable to keep the volume at a moderate
level at all times.
• Do not leave the Bluetooth earset in a location subject to
direct sunlight, heat, moisture or in a parked car.
• Consult local lows and regulations regarding use of the
Bluetooth earset while driving or cycling.
• Using the Bluetooth earset may not function on mobile
phones, depending on radio wave conditions and location
where the equipment is being used.
• If you experience discomfort after wearing the Bluetooth
earset, take off the Bluetooth earset immediately.
• Start dialing after connecting the Bluetooth earset to your
mobile phone.

1 Push the car attachment back, and push it
gently off the fin.
2 Remove the attachment while pressing the

Carga de las unidades
Los auriculares Bluetooth contienen una batería recargable
de iones de litio, que se debe cargar antes de usar la unidad
por primera vez.
1 Coloque el cargador de baterías en los
auriculares Bluetooth.
2 Conecte el adaptador de alimentación de
ca suministrado en la toma de entrada de
cc de 4,5 V del Cargador de baterías.
Cuando el adaptador de alimentación de ca se conecta
a una toma de corriente de ca, ambas unidades se
apagan automáticamente.

3 Compruebe que la luz del indicador se
encienda en verde.
Si el indicador LED de los auriculares Bluetooth no se
enciende en color verde, vuelva a colocar los
auriculares al adaptador correspondiente y asegúrese
de que se ilumine en este color.
La carga finaliza en aproximadamente dos horas y
media* y se apaga el indicador.

Precaución
Cuando esta unidad detecta alguna anormalidad durante el
proceso de carga, el indicador LED puede parpadear en
color verde y se apagará aunque no haya finalizado la carga.
Compruebe las causas siguientes:
– La temperatura ambiente excede el rango de 0º C a 40º C
(de 32º F a 104º F).
– Hay un problema con la batería, etc.
En este caso, vuelva a realizar la carga dentro del rango de
temperatura mencionado.
Si el problema persiste, consulte con el distribuidor Sony
más cercano a su domicilio.
Notas
• No se puede utilizar la unidad mientras se está cargando.
• Realice la carga con una temperatura ambiente entre 0º C
y 40º C (entre 32º F y 104º F).
• Evite la exposición a temperaturas extremas, luz solar
directa, humedad, arena, polvo o golpes mecánicos.
Nunca deje la unidad en un automóvil estacionado bajo
el sol.
• Utilice solamente el adaptador de alimentación de ca
suministrado. No utilice ningún otro adaptador de ca.
Polaridad del enchufe
El indicador de batería baja
El color del indicador LED de cualquiera de las unidades
cambia de azul a verde cuando la carga de la batería es baja.
En este caso, vuelva a cargar la batería inmediatamente.
Después de usar la unidad, vuelva a cargarla con frecuencia.

Sincronización de las
unidades
Para emparejar el auriculares Bluetooth
con un teléfono móvil Bluetooth
El auriculares Bluetooth podrá emparejarse directamente
con un teléfono móvil Bluetooth. Realice lo siguiente.
1 Acerque los auriculares Bluetooth y el
teléfono móvil a una distancia de 1 m.
2 Mientras los auriculares Bluetooth están
apagados, mantenga presionado el botón
de multifunción.
El LED parpadeará en color azul durante los primeros
7 segundos (aprox.). Mantenga presionado hasta que
el LED parpadee en azul y verde.
3 Busque el auriculares Bluetooth mediante
el teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
Cuando el teléfono móvil Bluetooth detecte el
auriculares Bluetooth, en el visualizador de dicho
teléfono Bluetooth aparecerá “DR-BT1”.
4 Seleccione “DR-BT1” en la lista
visualizada en su teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
Si no aparece “DR-BT1”, repita los pasos del 1 al 3.
5 Introduzca la clave de acceso* [0000] para
que sea solicitada introducción de la clave
de acceso al “DR-BT1” desde su teléfono
móvil Bluetooth.
* La tecla de acceso también se puede denominar de
la siguiente manera:
– Código de acceso, código PIN, número PIN,
contraseña.
6 Si el LED de los auriculares Bluetooth deja
de parpadear en azul y verde y comienza a
parpadear en azul lentamente (cada 3
segundos), se habrá finalizado la
sincronización.
La unidad entrará en el modo de espera. El
visualizador del teléfono móvil Bluetooth
normalmente mostrará que el emparejamiento ha
finalizado.
Nota
•Para sincronizar ambas unidades, se debe utilizar el
modo de sincronización.
El tiempo de espera del modo de sincronización de
cualquiera de las unidades es aproximadamente 60
segundos.

Uso del sistema
Uso de los auriculares
1 Enganche los auriculares Bluetooth
alrededor de la oreja, como si fuesen
lentes.
2 Ajuste la posición de los auriculares
Bluetooth para que calcen cómodamente.
Cambio de la dirección del
soporte
La unidad se puede usar en la oreja derecha o izquierda, si
sigue este procedimiento.
Ejemplo: cuando cambia de la oreja derecha a la oreja
izquierda.
1 Mientras sostiene con firmeza el
receptáculo, destrabe el conjunto del
soporte.
2 Mientras sostiene el receptáculo, gire el
soporte y, a continuación, tire en la
dirección de la flecha.

3 Haga girar el receptáculo hacia el otro
lado.
4 Conecte el soporte en la dirección de la
flecha como se muestra a continuación.
Nota
El receptáculo y el soporte indican la izquierda (L) y la
derecha (R). Por ejemplo, cuando utiliza la oreja izquierda,
el receptáculo se ajusta en la posición L y el soporte se
coloca con la marca L a la vista.

La unidad está equipada con soportes de dos tamaños para

Notas
• El color del indicador LED de cualquiera de las unidades
cambia de azul a verde cuando la carga de la batería es

• En ocasiones, es posible que no se produzca la
comunicación, aún cuando esté presionado el botón de
multifunción de los auriculares Bluetooth. En tal caso, el
LED repite el parpadeo (azul) de 3 a 5 veces, después de
lo cual los auriculares Bluetooth pasan a modo de espera.
No se logrará la comunicación en los casos siguientes:
– El auriculares Bluetooth no está emparejado con su
teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
– La función Bluetooth de su teléfono móvil Bluetooth
no está activada.
Funcionamiento de las
unidades
Para utilizar esta unidad con su
teléfono móvil Bluetooth
El auricular-micrófono Bluetooth puede comunicarse
directamente con su teléfono móvil Bluetooth. Con respecto
a los detalles, consulte el manual suministrado con su
teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
Note
El auricular-micrófono Bluetooth deberá estar emparejado
de antemano con el teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
A Prepare el auriculares
Bluetooth
Mantenga presionado el botón de multifunción
de los auriculares Bluetooth durante 7
segundos aproximadamente.
Cuando el LED parpadea rápidamente en color azul
(durante 1 segundo), suelte el botón. El LED comienza a
parpadear lentamente en color azul (cada 3 segundos). Al
encenderse la unidad, se escucha el sonido del pitido bajoalto.
Nota
Tenga cuidado de no dejar presionado el botón de
multifunción durante más de 10 segundos; de lo contrario,
pasará al modo de sincronización.
B Prepare el teléfono móvil
Bluetooth
Confirme que la alimentación del teléfono
móvil Bluetooth esté conectada. Active la
función Bluetooth del teléfono móvil Bluetooth.

C Conexión entre el auriculares

Bluetooth
Con el auricular-micrófono Bluetooth y el teléfono móvil
Bluetooth ya emparejados, la comunicación Bluetooth se
realizará presionando el botó multifunción.
En los casos siguientes, vuelva a realizar la comunicación
entre el auricular-micrófono Bluetooth y el teléfono móvil
Bluetooth.
– la alimentación del auricular-micrófono Bluetooth se
desconectó
– la alimentación del teléfono móvil Bluetooth se
desconectó (o se desactivó su función Bluetooth)
– la función Bluetooth del teléfono móvil Bluetooth y del

D Llamada
Para llamar:
Utilice el teclado de su teléfono móvil Bluetooth para
marcar el número, y después presione el botón de llamada.
Si no hay sonido a través del auricular-micrófono
Bluetooth, presione el botón multifunción.
Sugerencia
Es posible llamar de varias formas, dependiendo del
teléfono móvil Bluetooth. Consulte el manual suministrado
con su teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
– Usted podrá llamar presionando el botón multifunción
utilizando la función de marcación vocal cuando esté en
espera.
– Usted podrá llamar a un número específico presionando
el botón multifunción cuando esté en espera.
– Usted podrá llamar al ultimo número manteniendo
presionado el botón de volumen + o – cuando esté en
espera (solamente cuando la configuración de manos
libres).
Para recibir una llamada:
Cuando suene el teléfono, la comunicación Bluetooth se
realizará automáticamente, y el sonido se oirá a través del
auricular-micrófono Bluetooth.
Presione el botón multifunción del auricular-micrófono
Bluetooth.
Nota
Si presiona el botón de llamada del teléfono móvil
Bluetooth, algunos teléfonos móviles Bluetooth pueden
tener prioridad de conversación a través del microteléfono.
En este caso, cambia a conversar con el auricular-micrófono
Bluetooth presionando el botón multifunción o accionando
el teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
Con respecto a los detalles, consulte el manual suministrado
con su teléfono móvil Bluetooth.
Para terminar una llamada:
Usted podrá finalizar una llamada presionando el botón
multifunción del auricular-micrófono Bluetooth.
En los casos siguientes, la comunicación de audio terminará
automáticamente.

E Para apagar los auriculares
Bluetooth
Mantenga presionado el botón de multifunción
de los auriculares Bluetooth hasta que se
apague el LED.
Cuando la unidad está apagada, el LED de los auriculares
Bluetooth parpadea rápidamente en color verde (durante 2
segundos). Se escucha un pitido alto / bajo cuando la unidad
está apagada.
En este momento, se almacena el nivel de volumen actual.
Nota
Si la unidad se apaga mientras se está cargando, no se
almacena el nivel de volumen actual.
Para ajustar el volumen
Presione VOLUME + o - mientras se encuentra
establecida una conexión de audio.
Se escucha un pitido que corresponde al volumen
seleccionado cada vez que presione cualquiera de los
botones.
Cuando el ajuste del volumen es máximo o mínimo, no se
escucha el pitido.

Uso del accesorio para
automóvil
El accesorio para automóvil (suministrado) se puede utilizar
para sostener el Cargador de baterías, si se instala en la
ventilación del aire acondicionado de su automóvil.
Se aconseja usarlo mientras maneja.

Para desechar las
baterías de los

A fin de preservar el medio ambiente, asegúrese de extraer
de las unidades las baterías recargables incorporadas antes
de desecharlas y deshágase de ellas debidamente.
