Note : Make these 2 adjustments (3-S1, 3-S2) after perfoming
section 3-13.

3-S1. W/B plunge correction adjustment

S1-1. Adjustment of NTSC composite
1) Input the 525 all white (with burst) cut-off signal.
2) Adjust the brightness to a value below 10 cd/m2 with CONT and BRT VR.
Brightness adjustment:3 cd/m

3) Turn CHR OMA VR to MIN, and measure the color tem­perature.
4) Turn CHR OMA VR to MAX, and make adjustment with
NTSC B-Y and NTSC R-Y so that the color temperature will
be the same as the value measured in item 3). Standard adjustment:
The difference should be within 2 JND when CHR OMA MIN n MAX.
S1-2. Adjustment of PAL composite
S1-4. Adjustment of DIGITAL
1) Input the DI 525 all white cut-off signal.
2) Repeat the operations S1-1. 2) and 3).
3) Turn CHR OMA VR to MAX, and make adjustment with
DIGITAL R-Y and DIGIT AL B-Y so that the color temperature
will be the same as the value measured in item 2). Standard adjustment:
The difference should be within 2 JND when CHR OMA MIN n MAX.
S1-5. Adjustment of NTSC443 composite
1) Input the all white (with burst) cut-off signal.
2) Repeat the operations S1-1. 2) and 3).
3) Turn CHR OMA VR to MAX, and make adjustment with
NTSC443 R-Y and NTSC443 B-Y so that the color temperature
will be same as the value measured in item 2). Standard adjustment:
The difference should be within 2 JND when CHR OMA MIN n MAX.
1) Input the 625 all white (with burst) cut-off signal.
2) Repeat the operations S1-1. 2) and 3).
3) Turn CHR OMA VR to MAX, and make adjustment with
PAL B-Y and PAL R-Y so that the color temperature will be
the same as the value measured in item 2). Standard adjustment:
The difference should be within 2 JND when CHR OMA MIN n MAX.
S1-3. Adjustment of COMPONENT
1) Input the 525 all white cut-off signal to Y.
Note : NTSC all white (with burst) may be input.
2) Repeat the opelations S1-1. 2) and 3).
3) Turn CHR OMA VR to MAX, and make adjustment with
COMPONENT B-Y and COMPONENT R-Y so that the color
temperature will be the same as the value measured in item 2).
Standard adjustment: The difference should be within 2 JND when CHR OMA MIN n MAX.

3-S2. Adjustment of window brightness

S2-3. Adjustment of SUB CONT during H/V DELAY
S2-1. Adjustment of SUB CONT in 4:3 mode
1) Input the 625 window (with burst) signal. Note : The area of the window should be smaller than the
area shown below. (ABL should not be activated.)

2) Attach the luminance meter to the window of the CRT.
3) Adjust the SUB CON <4:3 NORM> to the value shown in Ta- ble 3-8.
4) Record the SUB CON<4:3 NORM> data.
S2-2. Adjustment of SUB CONT in 16:9 mode
1) Input the 625 window (with burst) signal.
2) Enter the 16:9 mode.
3) Attach the luminance meter to the window of the CRT.
4) Adjust the SUB CON<16:9 NORM> to the value shown in T able 3-8.
5) Record the SUB CON<16:9NORM> data.
