About voice dialling
Your XELIBRI uses state of the art voice recognition, enabling you to
• dictate a telephone number (your XELIBRI recognises most accents)
• speak the name of a Phonebook entry you have previously recorded.
Voice dialling a number
To call a number
From standby, hold down . At the tone, say “Number”.
Speak number:
0123 45
<C Options
At the second tone, dictate the telephone number as you would to a person. Pause between groups of digits; your XELIBRI updates the display and shows “Speak number” when you can continue.
When the number is correct, say “Dial” (or “Dial number”).
8
To correct a number
To delete the last group of digits, say “Clear” or hold . Click to delete last digit.
To cancel dialling
Say “Cancel”.
Voice dialling from the Phonebook
To save numbers and voice samples in the Phonebook, see p 14.
To call someone in your Phonebook
Hold down and at the tone say the name. Your XELIBRI repeats the entry you have selected,
displays it on screen and makes the call. To cancel the call, click .
Voice dialling
Voice dialling tips
A noisy environment may interfere with recognition. For zero, you can say “oh” or “zero”. You can also dictate
the special characters: + (“plus”), # (“hash”) and * (“star”).
When you pause when dictating, your XELIBRI writes a space between groups of numbers, making it simple to correct a number.
If you get unexpected results from voice dialling, you can
• try alternative commands from the list (right), or
•train your XELIBRI to improve recognition. See Personalising voice dialling on p 20.
Voice commands
The full list of voice commands is as follows:
“Number” Start dialling a number
0 Say “zero” or “oh”
1-9 Say “one, “two”, “three”, etc.
# Say “hash”
+ Say “plus”
* Say “star”
“Clear” Correct a number by deleting the last group

“Cancel” Cancel dialling (p 8)

Precautions/Maintenance
Precautions
Interference
Like any radio transmitter, a mobile phone can interfere with electrical equipment.
To ensure compliance with legal requirements, always use necklace while switched on in phone mode.
You must always switch off your phone:
•in hospitals and near medical equipment. If you have a heart pacemaker, keep the phone a minimum of 20 cm from it and hold it to the ear furthest away.
•on aircraft.
For safety
Switch off your phone near petrol stations, fuel or chemical plants or blasting operations.
Driving
Driving while holding a mobile phone is dangerous and illegal in many countries. Please use headset and then only when it is safe to do so.
Heat and moisture
Avoid moisture, shock or extreme heat (for instance,
leaving the phone in a car in hot sun).
Other precautions
Take care, particularly overseas, that you charge the phone using the correct voltage.
Do not open the phone, except to change the SIM card or replace the battery. Tampering with the phone or battery invalidates your warranty and may result in your network refusing service.
To ensure that you don’t damage your phone, use only accessories – particularly chargers and batteries – supplied by Xelibri or Siemens.
Maintenance
The SIM card should be treated with the same care as a credit card. Do not bend or scratch it or expose it to static electricity.
Clean the card with a damp cloth or an antistatic wipe without chemical cleaning agents.
Lost phone
If you lose your phone or SIM card contact your service provider immediately to prevent misuse.

YOUR XELIBRI MEETS REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES
Mobile phones are radio transmitters and receivers.
Limits for radio frequency exposure are defined in international guidelines (ICNIRP), developed by independent scientific organisaions.
The international recommended upper limit for exposure, and that recommended by The Council of the European Union, is a Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of 2.0 watts/ kilogram (W/kg).
Tests on this phone, conducted at maximum transmitting power, produced an SAR no greater than 0.74 W/kg.
In areas of typical network coverage, your phone transmits on lower power, resulting in a reduced SAR.
