Thank you for choosing our hearing instruments to accompany
you through everyday life. Like anything new, it may take you a
little time to become familiar with them.

This guide, along with support from your Hearing Care
Professional, will help you understand the advantages and greater
quality of life your hearing instruments offer.

To receive the most benet from your hearing instruments, it is
recommended that you wear them every day, all day. This will
help you get adjusted to them.

CAUTION

It is important to read this user guide and the safety
manual thoroughly and completely. Follow the safety
information to avoid damage or injury.

Your hearing instruments

This user guide describes optional features that your
hearing instruments may or may not have.

Ask your Hearing Care Professional to indicate the features
that are valid for your hearing instruments.

Instrument type

Your hearing instruments are BTE (Behind-The-Ear) models. A
tube delivers the sound from the hearing instrument into the ear.
The instruments are not intended for infants, small children or
mentally disabled persons.

Getting to know your hearing instruments

It is recommended to familiarize yourself with your new hearing

instruments. With the instruments in your hand try using the

controls and note their location on the instrument. This will make
it easier for you to feel and press the controls while wearing the

hearing instruments.

If you have problems pressing the controls of your hearing
instruments while wearing them, you can ask your Hearing
Care Professional about a remote control option.

This user guide describes several types of hearing instruments.
Use the following pictures to identify the type of hearing

instrument that you use.

Your hearing instruments are either attached to an earhook and a
custom-made ear piece or to a standard tube (LifeTube, ThinTube)

You can use standard ear pieces together with a standard tube
(LifeTube, ThinTube) or custom-made ear pieces together with an
earhook and tube.

switch hearing programs. Your hearing instruments either have a
rocker switch, or a rocker switch and a push button.

Power-on delay enables whistle-free insertion of hearing

instruments.

AutoPhone™ automatically switches to the telephone

program when the telephone receiver approaches the ear.

The tinnitus therapy feature generates a soft noise to
distract you from your tinnitus.

To recharge batteries in hearing instruments with charging
contacts, simply place the instruments in the charger. After
charging, the charger dehumidies the hearing instruments.

The e2e wireless functionality enables simultaneous control
of both hearing instruments.

Batteries

When the battery is low the sound becomes weaker or you will
hear an alert signal. The battery type will determine how long you
have to replace or recharge the battery.

Battery size and handling tips

Ask your Hearing Care Professional for recommended batteries.

Battery size: 13

Always use the correct battery size for your hearing instruments.

Remove the batteries if you intend not to use the hearing
instruments for several days.

Always carry spare batteries.

Remove empty batteries immediately and follow your local
recycling rules for battery disposal.

Replacing batteries

Removing the battery:

XOpen the battery compartment.

XUse the cleaning brush with magnet to pull out

the battery. The cleaning brush with magnet is
available from your Hearing Care Professional.

Inserting the battery:

XIf the battery has a protective lm, remove it only

when you are ready to use the battery.

XInsert the battery with the "+" symbol facing

up (refer to the picture).

X Carefully close the battery compartment. If you feel resistance,

the battery is not inserted correctly.

Do not attempt to close the battery compartment by force. It can

be damaged.

Recharging rechargeable batteries

Charge rechargeable batteries before rst use.

X To charge the batteries, follow the instructions in the charger’s

user guide.

After many recharging cycles, the battery lifetime may reduce. In
this case, replace the rechargeable battery with a new one. To do
so, follow the instructions for replacing batteries.

Daily use

Turning on and off

You have the following options to turn your hearing instruments
on or off.

Via battery compartment:

XTurning on: Close the battery compartment.

The default volume and hearing program are set.

XTurning off: Open the battery compartment to the rst catch.

Via push button or rocker switch:

X Turning on or off: Press and hold the push button or the

rocker switch for several seconds. Refer to section “Controls”
for the settings of your controls.

After turning on, the previously used volume and hearing
program remain set.

Via remote control:
easyTek™ remote control and audio streamer, and

easyPocket™ Remote Control

You may have received the optional easyTek or easyPocket
with your hearing instruments. easyTek or easyPocket can
be used to change the program and volume of your
hearing aids. In addition, other adjustments can also be
made to sound quality.

After turning on, the previously used volume and hearing
program remain set.

When wearing the hearing instruments, an alert tone can indicate
when an instrument is being turned on or off.

When the power-on delay is activated, the hearing instruments
turn on after a delay of several seconds. During this time you
can insert the hearing instruments into your ears without
experiencing unpleasant feedback whistling.

The “power-on delay” can be activated by your Hearing Care
Professional.

Inserting and removing the hearing instruments

Your hearing instruments have been ne-tuned for your right and
left ear. Colored markers indicate the side:

red marker = right ear

blue marker = left ear

Inserting a hearing instrument:

XHold the tube close to the ear piece.

XCarefully push the ear piece into the

ear canal ➊.

XTwist it slightly until it sits well.

Open and close your mouth to avoid
accumulation of air in the ear canal.

XLift the hearing instrument and slide it

over the top of your ear ➋.

CAUTION

Risk of injury!

XInsert the ear piece carefully and not too deeply into

the ear.

It may be helpful to insert the right hearing instrument

with the right hand and the left hearing instrument
with the left hand.

If you have problems inserting the ear piece, use the other

hand to gently pull your earlobe downwards. This opens
the ear canal and eases insertion of the ear piece.

The optional retention strand helps to securely retain the
ear piece in your ear. To position the retention strand:

XBend the retention strand and position it

carefully into the bottom of the bowl of your
ear (refer to the picture).

Removing a hearing instrument:

XLift the hearing instrument and slide

it over the top of your ear ➊.

XHold the tube close to the ear piece

and pull the ear piece out carefully ➋.

CAUTION

Risk of injury!

XIn very rare cases the ear piece could remain in your ear

when removing the hearing instrument. If this happens,
have the ear piece removed by a medical professional.

Clean and dry your hearing instruments after usage. Read more in
section “Maintenance and care”.

Adjusting the volume

Your hearing instruments automatically adjust the volume to the
listening situation.

X If you prefer manual volume adjustment, press the

rocker switch briey or use a remote control.

Refer to section “Controls” for the setting of the rocker switch.

An optional signal tone can indicate the volume change. Once the
maximum or minimum volume has been reached, you may hear
an optional signal tone.

Changing the hearing program

Depending on the listening situation, your hearing instruments
automatically adjust their sound.

Your hearing instruments may also have up to 5 hearing
programs which allow you to change the sound, if needed.
An optional signal tone can indicate the program change.

X To change the hearing program, press the push button or the

rocker switch, or use a remote control.

Refer to section “Controls” for the setting of your controls. Refer to
section “Settings” for a list of your hearing programs.

If the AutoPhone function is activated, the hearing
program switches automatically to a telephone program
when the telephone receiver is close to the ear.

Further adjustments (optional)

The controls of your hearing instruments can also be used to
change, for example, the sound balance or the tinnitus therapy
feature level. Sound balance allows you to adjust the bass and
treble to your preferences.

Refer to section “Controls” for the setting of your controls.

Locking the controls (optional)

To prevent any accidental operation you can lock the controls.
When the controls are locked, both push button and rocker switch
are disabled.

X To lock the controls, press the top of the rocker switch and

hold it. Simultaneously press the push button on the same
hearing instrument for 3 seconds.

X To unlock the controls, press the bottom of the rocker switch

and hold it. Simultaneously press the push button on the same
hearing instrument for 3 seconds.

Whether this function is congured for your hearing instruments
is listed in section “Controls”.

Special listening situations

Setting the focus (optional)

If you want to focus more directly on your conversation partner in
front of you, or if you want to listen to the broader environment
– the spatial congurator gives you control over your listening
preference.

You can select different levels – from “focus to frontal position”
(left picture) to “middle position” (center picture) to “hear all
around” (right picture).

Prerequisites:

You need to wear two hearing instruments.

On one of your hearing instruments the rocker switch needs to be
set for the spatial congurator.

Refer to section “Controls” for the setting of the rocker switch.

With a suitable remote control and smartphone app you have
even more control options.

Setting the focus manually:

X If you have several hearing programs, change to hearing

program 1.

XPress the rocker switch that is set for this function.

The mid level is active by default.

X Press the upper rocker switch to focus more to the front, or the

lower rocker switch to listen to the broader environment.

This function is intended for unique and temporary listening
situations. The hearing instruments thus return automatically
to the automatic setting of program 1 if the sound environment
changes signicantly or after approximately 45 minutes. You can
also exit the spatial congurator mode.

Exiting spatial congurator mode:

XToggle to the minimum or maximum level.

An optional signal tone can indicate the minimum and
maximum level.

XToggle one step further.

The same signal tone as for changing the hearing program is
played, indicating that you have exited the spatial congurator

mode.

On the phone

When you are on the phone, hold the telephone
receiver slightly above your ear. The hearing
instrument and telephone receiver have to be
aligned. Turn the receiver slightly so that the
ear is not completely covered.

Telephone program

You may prefer a certain volume when using the phone. Ask your
Hearing Care Professional to congure a telephone program.

X Switch to the telephone program whenever you are on the

phone or use the automatic program switch.

If a telephone program or the automatic program switch are
congured for your hearing instruments, it is listed in section
“Settings”.

Automatic program switch (AutoPhone)

Your hearing instrument can automatically select the telephone
program when you bring the telephone handset close to the
hearing instrument. When you are nished speaking on the
phone, move the handset away from the hearing instrument
and microphone mode will re-set itself.

If you want to use this function, ask your Hearing Care
Professional to do the following:

Activate the AutoPhone function.

Check the telephone receiver’s magnetic eld.

For the automatic program switch, your hearing instrument
detects the telephone receiver’s magnetic eld. Not all
telephones produce a magnetic eld strong enough to activate
the AutoPhone function. In this case, you can use the Siemens
AutoPhone magnet, which is available as an accessory, and
attach it to the telephone receiver.

See the AutoPhone magnet user guide for instructions on how
to position the magnet.

NOTICE

Use the approved AutoPhone magnet only. Ask your
Hearing Care Professional for this accessory.

AutoPhone magnet accessory

There is an AutoPhone magnet accessory available for your
telephone that can be used with the AutoPhone feature of your
hearing instrument. Ask your Hearing Care Professional about
this accessory and if it is appropriate for your individual hearing

care needs.

You must use the original magnet provided with your hearing
instrument. Using other magnets may cause irreversible damage
to the electronics of your hearing instrument.

When magnets are properly cared for, they are safe to use
and can last a lifetime. However, the following guidelines
should be followed while using these magnets.

WARNING

• Magnets can pose risks to electronics and magnetic
storage media when placed in close proximity.

• Be careful not to place magnets near computers, color
monitors, television sets, floppy disks, video/audio tape,
and other electronic equipment.

• Magnets may interfere with the operation of life support
systems, such as pacemakers, magnetic valves, etc.

• Make certain to maintain a distance of at least 4 inches
between the magnet and the area of your support system.

• Keep magnets out of the reach of children or pets.

• If accidentally swallowed, seek medical attention.

Audio induction loops / telecoil

Some telephones and public places like theatres offer the audio
signal (music and speech) via an audio induction loop. With this
system, your hearing instruments can directly receive the desired
signal – without distracting noise in the environment.

You can usually recognize audio induction loop

systems by certain signs.

Ask your Hearing Care Professional to congure
a telecoil program.

X Switch to the telecoil program whenever you are in a place

with an audio induction loop.

If a telecoil program is congured for your hearing instruments, it
is listed in section “Settings”.

Telecoil program and remote control

NOTICE

For instruments with wireless connectivity:
When the telecoil program is active, the remote control

may cause a pulsing noise.

XUse the remote control with a distance greater than 4

inches (10 cm).

Audio input (FM system)

With an audio input you can connect your hearing instruments to an
FM system. An FM system consists of a transmitter and a receiver. It
gathers speech at the voice source (via a separate microphone) and
transmits the sound directly to the hearing instruments.

The signal is clearer and unaffected by poor room acoustics.
This can be useful for adults in difcult listening situations and
for children in classrooms.

Most FM systems allow for coupling with audio devices like an
MP3 player.

Notes:

The battery compartment with audio input is available as an
accessory only for Motion SA hearing instruments.

As an alternative, you can use an audio streaming device
(accessory) with a plug for FM receivers.

Ask your Hearing Care Professional to congure your hearing
instruments, for example:

Adjust the mix of the audio input signal with surrounding sounds.

Congure the rocker switch so that you can select between
audio input signal only, surrounding sound only, or a mix of both
signals.

WARNING

Risk of electric shock!
To prevent very rare cases of electric shock:

XUse the audio input only with battery operated devices

or FM systems.

WARNING

Risk of electric shock!

XConnect audio input only to a device conforming to

IEC 60065, the IEC-Norm for audio, video and other
electronic devices.

Maintenance and care

To prevent damage it is important that you take care of your
hearing instruments and follow a few basic rules, which will
soon become a part of your daily routine.

Hearing instruments

Drying and storage

XDry your hearing instruments overnight.

X Ask your Hearing Care Professional for recommended

drying products.

X For longer periods of non-use, remove the batteries and store

your hearing instruments with the battery compartment open
in a drying system to avoid the adverse effects of moisture.
A DryAid kit is available from your Hearing Care Professional.

Cleaning

Your hearing instruments have a protective coating. However, if
not cleaned regularly you may damage the hearing instruments
or cause personal injury.

XClean your hearing instruments daily with a soft, dry tissue.

XNever use running water or immerse the devices in

water.

XNever apply pressure while cleaning.

X Ask your Hearing Care Professional for recommended cleaning

products, special care sets, or more information on how to
keep your hearing instruments in good condition.

Custom-made ear pieces (earmolds),
ear pieces, tubes

Cerumen (ear wax) may accumulate on the earmolds or
ear pieces. This may affect sound quality.

For hearing instruments with a standard tube
(LifeTube, ThinTube):

Clean the earmolds or ear pieces daily, clean the tubes as

required.

Exchange the earmolds or ear pieces and tubes approximately
every three to six months, or sooner if you notice cracks or

other changes.

For hearing instruments with earhook:

Clean the earmolds or ear pieces daily.

Ask your Hearing Care Professional to clean the tubes or to
exchange the earmolds or ear pieces and tubes as needed.

Cleaning earmolds or ear pieces

XClean the earmold or ear piece upon

removal with a soft and dry tissue.

This prevents cerumen from

becoming dry and hardening.

X Never use running water

or immerse the earmold or
ear piece in water.

Cleaning tubes

Never use running water or immerse the tube in water.

You can clean standard tubes (LifeTube, ThinTube) using a
special cleaning wire. Ask your Hearing Care Professional
for suitable cleaning wires.

XScrew off the tube.

XCarefully insert the cleaning wire into the tube ➊.

XPush the cleaning wire all the way through the tube ➋.

Wipe away any cerumen or debris that is dislodged from
the tube.

XCompletely remove the cleaning wire from the tube.

XScrew the tube onto the hearing instrument.

CAUTION

Risk of damage to ear canal and ear drum.

XAlways remove the Life Cleaning Wire from the tube

before reattaching it to your hearing instrument.

Exchanging standard ear pieces (LifeTip)

XPull off the used ear piece and plug

on the new ear piece.

Exchanging standard tubes (LifeTube, ThinTube)

XUnscrew the used tube and

screw the new tube on.

Professional maintenance

Your Hearing Care Professional can perform a thorough cleaning

and maintenance.

Custom-made ear pieces and wax lters should be exchanged as
needed by a professional.

Ask you Hearing Care Professional for your individual
recommendation of maintenance intervals and for support.

Wireless functionality

Your hearing instruments are equipped with wireless
functionality. This provides synchronization between your two

hearing instruments:

If you change the program or volume on one instrument, the
other one is automatically changed, too.

Both hearing instruments automatically adapt to the listening
situation simultaneously.

Wireless functionality enables the use of a remote control.

Accessories

The type of available accessories depends on the instrument type.
Examples are: a remote control, an audio streaming device, or a
smartphone app for remote control.

Consult your Hearing Care Professional for further information.

Increase the volume.
Replace or recharge the battery (depending on the battery type).
Clean or exchange the tube and the ear piece.

Hearing instrument emits whistling sounds.

Reinsert the ear piece until it ts securely.

Sound is distorted.

Decrease the volume.
Replace or recharge the battery (depending on the battery type).
Clean or exchange the tube and the ear piece.

Hearing instrument emits signal tones.

Replace or recharge the battery (depending on the battery type).

Hearing instrument does not work.

Turn the hearing instrument on.

Gently close battery compartment completely.
Replace or recharge the battery (depending on the

Make sure the battery is inserted correctly.
Power-on delay is active. Wait several seconds and

check again.

Tipo de instrumento

Sus instrumentos auditivos son los modelos BTE (retroauricular).
Un tubo transmite el sonido desde el instrumento auditivo hasta
el oído. Los instrumentos no están diseñados para uso en los
bebés, los niños pequeños ni las personas con discapacidades
mentales.

Conociendo sus instrumentos auditivos

Se recomienda que se familiarice con sus nuevos instrumentos
auditivos. Con los instrumentos en la mano, trate de usar los
controles y conozca su ubicación en el instrumento. Esto hará que
le sea más fácil sentir y presionar los controles mientras usa los
instrumentos auditivos.

Si tiene problemas para presionar los controles de
sus instrumentos auditivos mientras los usa, puede
preguntarle a su profesional de cuidado auditivo acerca
de la opción de un control remoto.

Cómo retirar la batería:

XAbra el compartimiento de la batería.

XUse el cepillo de limpieza con imán para sacar

la batería. Puede obtener el cepillo de limpieza
con imán que está disponible como accesorio a
través de su profesional de cuidado auditivo.

Cómo insertar la batería:

XSi la batería tiene una película de protección, retírela

solo cuando esté listo para usar la batería.

XInserte la batería con el símbolo "+" hacia

arriba (consulte la imagen).

X Cierre con cuidado el compartimiento de la batería. Si siente

resistencia, la batería no está insertada correctamente.

No intente cerrar por la fuerza el compartimiento de la batería.

Recargar las baterías recargables

Cargue las baterías recargables antes del primer uso.

X Para cargar las baterías, siga las instrucciones que se

proporcionan en la guía del usuario.

Después de varios ciclos de recarga se puede reducir la vida
útil de la batería. En ese caso, cambie la batería recargable por
una nueva. Para hacerlo, siga las instrucciones para cambiar las

baterías.

Encendido y apagado

Usted tiene las siguientes opciones para encender o apagar sus
instrumentos auditivos.

Por medio del compartimiento de la batería:

Cuando está activada la característica retardo de encendido
los instrumentos se encienden después de un retardo de varios
segundos. Durante este tiempo puede insertar el instrumento
auditivo en su oreja sin experimentar desagradables silbidos de
retroalimentación.

La característica "retardo de encendido" puede ser activada por su
profesional de cuidado auditivo.

Colocación y extracción del instrumento auditivo

Sus instrumentos auditivos están anados para su oreja derecha e
izquierda. Los marcadores de color indican el lado:

color rojo = oreja derecha

color azul = oreja izquierda

XInserte el auricular con cuidado y no muy profundo en

el canal auditivo.

Puede ser útil insertar el instrumento auditivo derecho con

la mano derecha y el instrumento auditivo izquierdo
con la mano izquierda .

Si tiene problemas para insertar el auricular, use la otra

mano para tirar suavemente hacia abajo del lóbulo de la
oreja. Así se abre el canal auditivo y facilita la inserción
del auricular.

La cuerda de sujeción opcional ayuda a mantener el auricular
dentro de la oreja de una manera segura. La posición de la cuerda
de sujeción:

XDoble la cuerda de sujeción y colóquela

con cuidado en la concha de la oreja

Extracción del instrumento auditivo:

XLevante el instrumento auditivo y

XEn casos muy raros, el auricular se puede quedar en

la oreja al extraer el instrumento auditivo. Si esto le
sucede, un profesional médico debe extraer el auricular.

Ajustar el volumen

Sus instrumentos auditivos ajustan automáticamente el volumen
de acuerdo con la situación de audición.

X Si preere ajustar manualmente el volumen, presione

brevemente el interruptor oscilante o use un control remoto.

Consulte la sección "Controles" para ver los ajustes del interruptor
oscilante.

Un tono opcional de señal puede indicar el cambio del volumen.
Cuando se alcanza el volumen máximo o mínimo, se puede
escuchar un tono opcional de señal.

Cambio de programa auditivo

Dependiendo de la situación de audición, sus instrumentos
auditivos ajustan automáticamente el sonido.

Es posible que sus instrumentos auditivos también tengan hasta
5 programas de audición que permiten cambiar el sonido, si es
necesario. Un tono opcional de señal puede indicar el cambio del
programa.

X Para cambiar el programa de audición, presione el pulsador o

el interruptor oscilante o use un control remoto.

Si está activada la función AutoPhone, el programa de
audición se cambia automáticamente al programa para
teléfono al acercar el receptor del teléfono a la oreja.

Otros ajustes (opcionales)

Los controles de sus instrumentos auditivos también se pueden
usar para cambiar, por ejemplo, el equilibrio del sonido o el nivel
de la función de la terapia de tinnitus. El equilibrio del sonido
permite ajustar los sonidos graves y agudos de acuerdo con su
preferencia.

Consulte la sección "Controles" para ajustar sus controles.

Bloquear los controles (opcional)

Puede bloquear los controles para evitar cualquier operación
accidental. Cuando los controles estén bloqueados, tanto el
pulsador y como el interruptor oscilantes están inactivos.

X Para bloquear los controles, mantenga presionada la parte

de arriba del interruptor oscilantes. Simultáneamente,

presione el pulsador en el mismo instrumento auditivo durante
3 segundos.

X Para desbloquear los controles, mantenga presionada la

parte de abajo del interruptor oscilantes. Simultáneamente,
presione el pulsador en el mismo instrumento auditivo durante
3 segundos.

Si su instrumento auditivo tiene congurada esta función,
aparecerá en la lista de la sección "Controles".

Situaciones especiales

Ajuste del foco (opcional)

Si desea enfocarse directamente en la conversación con la
persona que está frente a usted o desea escuchar un entorno más
amplio, el congurador espacial le permite el control, según su
preferencia.

Puede seleccionar diferentes niveles, desde "enfoque en
la posición frontal" (imagen de la izquierda) a la "posición
intermedia" (imagen del centro) hasta "escuchar el entorno"
(imagen de la derecha).

Prerrequisitos:

Es necesario que use dos instrumentos auditivos.

En uno de los instrumentos auditivos se debe congurar el
interruptor oscilante para el congurador espacial.

Consulte la sección "Controles" para ver los ajustes del interruptor
oscilante.

Con un control remoto y la aplicación de teléfono inteligente
puede obtener aún más opciones de control.

Ajuste manual del foco:

X Si tiene varios programas auditivos, cambie al programa

auditivo 1.

X Presione el interruptor oscilante que está congurado para esta

función.

El nivel medio está activo como ajuste predeterminado.

X Presione el interruptor oscilante superior para enfocarse más

en el frente o el interruptor oscilante inferior para escuchar un
entorno más amplio.

Esta función está prevista para situaciones auditivas únicas y
temporales. Por lo tanto, los instrumentos auditivos regresan
automáticamente a la conguración del programa 1 si el
entorno de sonido cambia signicativamente o después de
aproximadamente 45 minutos. También puede salir del modo del
congurador espacial.

Para salir del modo del congurador espacial:

XCambie al nivel mínimo o máximo.

Un tono opcional de señal puede indicar el nivel mínimo o
máximo.

XCambie al siguiente paso.

Se escucha el mismo tono de señal que al cambiar el programa
auditivo, indicando que ya salió del modo del congurador
espacial.

Para hablar por teléfono

Cuando hable por teléfono, sostenga el receptor
del teléfono ligeramente arriba de la oreja. El
instrumento auditivo y el receptor del teléfono
deben estar alineados. Gire ligeramente el
receptor para que la oreja no quede cubierta
completamente.

Programa para el teléfono

Es posible que cuando use el teléfono preera un volumen
determinado. Pida a su profesional de cuidado auditivo que
congure un programa para el teléfono.

X Cambie al programa para teléfono cuando hable por teléfono o

use el cambio automático de programa.

Si su instrumento auditivo tiene congurado un programa para
el teléfono o el cambio automático de programa, aparecerá en la
lista de la sección "Ajustes".

Cambio automático de programa (AutoPhone)

Su instrumento auditivo puede seleccionar automáticamente
el programa para teléfono al acercar el auricular del teléfono al
instrumento auditivo. Cuando termine de hablar por teléfono,
aleje el teléfono del instrumento auditivo y se restablecerá
automáticamente el modo de micrófono.

Si desea usar esta función, pídale a su profesional de cuidado
auditivo que haga lo siguiente:

Activar la función AutoPhone.

Revisar el campo magnético del receptor del teléfono.

Para el cambio automático de programa, su instrumento detecta
el campo magnético del receptor del teléfono. No todos los
teléfonos producen un campo magnético lo sucientemente
fuerte para activar la función AutoPhone. En este caso, puede
usar el imán AutoPhone de Siemens, que está disponible como
accesorio y colocarlo en el receptor del teléfono.

Consulte en la guía del usuario de AutoPhone las instrucciones
sobre cómo colocar el imán.

Accesorio magnético de AutoPhone

Hay un accesorio magnético AutoPhone disponible para su
teléfono el cual puede usarse con la característica AutoPhone de
su instrumento auditivo. Consulte con su profesional de cuidado
auditivo acerca de este accesorio y si es adecuado para sus
necesidades personales de cuidado auditivo.

Usted debe usar el imán original proporcionado con su
instrumento auditivo. El uso de otros imanes puede ocasionar
daño irreversible al sistema electrónico de su instrumento
auditivo.

Cuando los imanes se cuidan apropiadamente son seguros
de usar y pueden durar toda una vida. Sin embargo, deben
seguirse las siguientes directrices cuando se usan estos

imanes.

• Los imanes pueden representar riesgos para los medios
de almacenamiento electrónicos y magnéticos cuando se
colocan cerca.

• Tenga cuidado de no colocar los imanes cerca de
computadoras, monitores a color, televisores, disquetes,
cintas de video/audio y otros equipos electrónicos.

• Los imanes pueden interferir con el funcionamiento de
los sistemas de mantenimiento artificial de vida, como
marcapasos, válvulas magnéticas, etc.

• Asegúrese de mantener una distancia de por lo menos
4 pulgadas entre el imán y el área de su sistema de
mantenimiento artificial de vida.

• Mantenga los imanes fuera del alcance de niños y
mascotas.

• Si se tragan accidentalmente, busque atención médica.

Secuencia de inducción/telebobina de audio

Algunos teléfonos y espacios públicos como los teatros ofrecen
señales de audio (música y habla) por medio de una secuencia de
inducción de sonido. Con este sistema, sus instrumentos auditivos
pueden recibir directamente la señal deseada, sin el ruido
distractor del ambiente.

Por lo general se puede reconocer los sistemas
de secuencia de inducción de sonido por ciertas
señales.

Pida a su profesional de cuidado auditivo que
congure un programa telebobina.

X Cambie al programa telebobina siempre que esté en un lugar

con secuencia de inducción de audio.

Si su instrumento auditivo tiene congurado un programa de
telebobina, aparecerá en la lista de la sección "Ajustes".

Programa telebobina y control remoto

AVISO

Para los instrumentos con conectividad inalámbrica:
Cuando está activo el programa de telebobina, el control

remoto puede provocar un ruido pulsante.

XUtilice el control remoto a una distancia mayor de

4 pulgadas (10 centímetros).

Entrada de audio (sistema FM)

Con una entrada de audio usted puede conectar su instrumento
auditivo a un sistema FM. Un sistema FM consiste en un
transmisor y un receptor. Recoge el habla en la fuente de voz
(por medio de un micrófono separado) y transmite el sonido
directamente al instrumento auditivo.

La señal es más clara y no se ve afectada por la mala acústica de
una habitación. Esto puede ser útil para adultos en situaciones
donde es difícil escuchar y para niños en los salones de clase.

La mayoría de los sistemas FM permiten el acoplamiento con los
dispositivos de audio como los reproductores de MP3.

Notas:

El compartimiento de la batería con entrada de audio está
disponible como un accesorio solo para los instrumentos auditivos
Motion SA.

Como alternativa, puede usar un dispositivo de descarga de audio
(accesorio) con un conector para receptores de FM.

Pida a su profesional de cuidado auditivo que congure sus
instrumentos auditivos, por ejemplo:

Ajuste la mezcla de sonido de la señal de entrada con los sonidos
del ambiente.

Congure el interruptor oscilante de manera que pueda
seleccionar las opciones de solo la señal de entrada de sonido,
solo el sonido del ambiente o una mezcla de ambas señales.

XUse la entrada de audio solo con dispositivos operados

con baterías o con sistemas FM.

Mantenimiento y cuidado

Para evitar daños, es importante que cuide sus instrumentos
auditivos y que siga algunas reglas básicas, que pronto se
convertirán en parte de su rutina diaria.

Instrumentos auditivos

Secado y almacenamiento

XSeque los instrumentos auditivos durante la noche.

X Pregunte a su profesional de cuidado auditivo acerca de los

productos de secado recomendados.

X Para los períodos más prolongados en los que no usará los

instrumentos, retire las baterías y guarde sus instrumentos
auditivos con el compartimiento de las baterías abierto en
un sistema de secado para evitar los efectos adversos de
la humedad. Puede obtener un kit DryAid a través de su
profesional de cuidado auditivo.

Limpieza

Sus instrumentos auditivos tienen una capa protectora. Sin
embargo, si no los limpia regularmente, podría dañar los
instrumentos auditivos o causar lesiones personales.

X Limpie sus instrumentos auditivos diariamente con un paño

suave y seco.

XNunca use agua del grifo ni sumerja los

instrumentos en agua.

XNunca aplique presión mientras los limpia.

los productos de limpieza, los estuches de cuidado especial
o pídale más información sobre cómo mantener sus

Auriculares hechos a la medida (moldes de oído),

Es posible que se acumule cerumen (cera del oído) en los moldes
del oído o en los auriculares. Esto podría afectar la calidad del

sonido.

Para los instrumentos con tubos estándar (LifeTube, ThinTube):

Limpie diariamente los moldes de oído y los auriculares, limpie los

tubos cuando sea necesario.

Cambie los moldes de oído o los auriculares y los tubos
aproximadamente cada tres a seis meses o antes si observa

grietas u otros cambios.

Para los instrumentos con ganchos auriculares:
