Fitting
Beforethe audio shoecan beconnected tothe hearinginstrument the following stepshave to be fulfilled:

Attaching the audio shoe
Takethe audioshoe and hook the two nibs into the small recesses of the hearing instrument housing. Slide the audio shoe to the inner side of the hearing instruments housing until it snaps into the end position.

To remove theaudio shoe, slideit inthe oppositedirection.
With the connectedaudio shoe,the battery compartment switchis disabledand thehearing instrument can only be switched off with the push button.

Is the instrument switched on? Is the battery inserted? Is the battery run down? Isthe battery compartmentclosed? Is the sound opening in theLifeTip clogged with wax?

Your IMPACT hearingi nstrument is fully automatic. There isno needto manually adjust the volume control.
However, if youprefer manual volume control,yo ur IMPACT hearing instrument can be programmed for manual adjustment. This willbe done byyour NHSau diologist.
If your system is programmed for manual adjustment, the wheel-sh aped volume controlca n be rotated up (louder) ordown (softer) tosele ct the desired listening volume.

Using the volume control
Rotate thewheel upwards toincrease volume. Rotateit down todecrease volume.
Toincrease volume,place your index finger gently against the volume control wheel and rotate it upward. If your system is equipped with a warning tone for volume control limits, once it is heard, adjusting the volume control further in that direction will have no effect. Toreduce thevolume, rotatethe wheel in the opposite direction.

sticker from new battery, place battery in drawer with + symbol onbattery + side up. (You should only remove the protective sticker if you actually use the battery)
Yourhearing instrumentmay be programmed to inform you when the battery should be replaced for best system performance. You may hear an intermittent series of beeps and/or experience low amplification power or volume. Change the battery when either of these occur.

Toturn your hearinginstrument off, pressand hold the programbutton for approximately3 seconds. Toturn your hearinginstrument onagain, press and holdthe programbutton for approximately3 seconds. Pleasenote thatwhen youturn your hearing instrumentoff using theprogram button,you must waitapproximately10 secondsfor the instrumentto reset beforeturning it backon usingthe programbutton.
