• While IG-DM1Y can remove suspended viruses and other
contaminants, it cannot create a completely sterile environment.
SHARP does not guarantee its ability to prevent microbial
infection.

• The actual number of ions and the effect of sterilization,
purification, and beauty vary depending on the conditions of a
room (size, shape, whether an air conditioner or ventilation is
used, installation location of the product etc.) or usage (blowing
direction of ion etc.).

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Please read instructions carefully before using this unit as below.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed,

including the following:

WARNING - To reduce the risk of electric shock, fi re or injury :

• Do not damage or modify the AC adapter and USB cable. Also, do not use the AC adapter
and USB cable if it is damaged. (The damaged section could cause short-circuiting and the
cord could melt, leading to fi re.)

• Do not remove the AC adapter, USB cable and rechargeable battery when your hands are
wet. (Doing so could cause electric shock and injury.)

•

Do not connect other appliances to the same socket using extension cord. (Doing so could cause fi re.

•

Do not

• Use only a 220-240 volt outlet.

• Use the AC adapter, USB cable and rechargeable battery designed exclusively for this
product, and insert the AC adapter securely all the way into power socket until it stops.

• Periodically remove dust from the AC adapter.

• Do not use the primary battery (dry cell etc.).

•

During thunder storm, stop the operation and pull out the AC adapter from the outlet.

• If a defect is generated (burning smell, heat generation, discoloration, deformation etc.),
stop the operation and pull out the AC adapter and pull out a rechargeable battery from the
main unit. (Doing so could cause fi re or electric shock.) Contact the store you purchased
this appliance from or Sharp Service Center.

•

Do not enter a foreign object such as pin and wire in power supply input terminal, outlet, and air
inlet. If you put the product in a bag etc., do not put a metallic product (key, necklace, hairpin
etc.) in a bag together. (Doing so could cause electric shock, injury or abnormal operation.)

• Do not use the product within baby’s reach. Keep the rechargeable battery out of baby’s
reach (otherwise, a baby may get electric shock, swallow it down, or get injured).

• If medical device is attached to you, do not put the product in chest pocket etc. (the product
may affect the medical device etc.)

•

Turn off the power on an airplane. (To avoid possibility of interferes with the safety of operation.)

• Do not modify the product. Also, no one other than an authorized repairman should take
apart or repair the product. (Doing so could lead to fi re, electric shock or injury.) Contact
the store you purchased the appliance from or Sharp Service Center.

•

If water or foreign substances should get inside the unit, unplug the AC adapter, USB cable and
rechargeable battery from the main unit. (Continuous usage could lead to fi re or electric shock.)

• Do not put the product in a pocket or let it contact your body directly for a long time (it may
cause low temperature burn injury).

•

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

CAUTIONS CONCERNING OPERATION:

• Do not apply hard shock such as falling or throwing on the product or do not pull the AC
adapter and USB cable during the charging. (Doing so could cause injury or damage.)

• Do not swing the product with a strap. (Doing so could cause injury or damage hitting the
user or people around or when the strap is broken.)

• Do not attach a damaged strap. (Doing so could cause injury or damage.)

• Do not pull on the cord when unplugging the AC adapter. (Doing so could cause leading to
fi re or electric shock.)

• If the product is used in a vehicle, it may interfere with the on-vehicle electronic equipment,
do not use the product in that case (otherwise, safety driving is impaired).

•

If you do not use the product for a long time, remove the rechargeable battery from the main
unit and store it avoiding high temperature and high humidity.

For rechargeable battery

DANGER - To reduce the risk of electric shock, fi re, injury or accident :

• Be sure to use a designated rechargeable battery.

• Do not disassemble and modify the rechargeable battery.

• Do not contact a metallic product such as wire with charging terminal. Do not carry on or
store the product with a necklace or hairpin etc.

• Do not dispose of the rechargeable battery in fi re or heat it up.

•

Do not place a rechargeable battery near fi re or heater, place exposed to direct sunlight, or
high-temperature place such as inside of vehicle under the scorching sun (70°C or more).

• Avoid the rechargeable battery from wet condition like rain, water or sea water.

• Do not charge the product near fi re or under the scorching sun.

• Do not drive a nail on a rechargeable battery, hit it with a hammer, or step it on.

• Do not apply strong shock to a rechargeable battery or throw it.

• Do not use the rechargeable battery if it is deformed or damaged by falling etc.

• Do not solder the rechargeable battery directly.

• After confi rming the direction of the rechargeable battery, attach to the main unit.

•

If you cannot attach a rechargeable battery to the main unit properly, do not attach it forcibly.

• Do not connect a rechargeable battery to the outlet of power supply or cigarette outlet in
vehicle directly. (Doing so could cause heat generation, smoking, blowout, or fi ring.)

• Be sure to charge it using an included AC adapter and a USB cable. (Doing so could cause
heat generation, smoking, explosion or fi re.)

• If the liquid in a rechargeable battery leaks and enters your eye, do not rub your eye, but
wash it with clean water such as tap water suffi ciently and receive medical treatment from
a doctor immediately (eye may be damaged).

clean water such as tap water suffi ciently at once (the skin may be damaged).

Precautions

Precautions on installation

• When you use the product for the fi rst time, remove the insulation sheet.

• Operating temperature : 0

• Do not block the air inlet and the air outlet.

• Do not leave in the car.

Turn off the power on an airplane. (To avoid possibility of interferes with the safety of operation.)

• If this Plasmacluster Ion Generator cause interference to radio or television reception,
try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• Increase the distance between the product and radio/TV receiver.

•

Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

• Do not use items of silicone-containing products* near the unit.

* Hair care products (split end coatings, hair mousses, hair treatments, etc.), cosmetics,

antiperspirants, antistatic agents, waterproofi ng sprays, polishes, glass cleaners, dustcloth, wax, etc.

• The fl uororesin or silicone could get stuck inside the unit, preventing it from producing
Plasmacluster ions. If this happens, remove the dust from the electrode section of the
Plasmacluster Ion Generating Unit. (See E-8)

You can charge the product by inserting an included USB cable into USB connector
of PC, however, use it after checking the specifi cations of the PC. Sharp will not bea
responsible for PC malfunction or data loss caused by charging.

Open the stand, install it in
a way that the air outlet is

can be fixed in four-step

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: When cleaning the unit, be sure to fi rst unplug the power cord.

Air Inlet

Gently remove dust from the air inlet by using a
vacuum cleaner.

• Do not press the vacuum cleaner strongly against
the suciton port, or the fi lter could be damaged.

Main Unit

Wipe with a dry soft cloth.

For stubborn dirt, use water and a mild detergent. And then, wipe with a wet cloth.
Make sure to dry out the main unit.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

The rechargeable battery is a consumable supply. If it is used repeatedly, the usable
time becomes shorter gradually. If the usable time becomes extremely short even if
it is suffi ciently charged, replace it with a new rechargeable battery.

The battery sometimes swells up at the end of its lifetime. It is a characteristic of lithium ion
rechargeable battery and there is no problem on the safety.
