Employing a write head with Sharp’s original 4-bit image processing LED, the AR-C170M can produce 16 colour gradation patterns on a single pixel. Working with a dither matrix process, it achieves superb colour fidelity equivalent to 256 gradations per CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) colour, delivering beautiful printouts and copies with impressive colour detail.

Sharp’s newly developed oil-less toner produces vivid, natural-

looking colour documents without leaving a glossy coating on the paper’s surface. You can easily write messages or paste sticky notes on copies and printouts even if they contain many colour photos.

Convenient RSPF

With the standard-equipped reversing single pass feeder (RSPF), the AR-C170M can automatically feed in a stack of up to 40 single- or two-sided originals, eliminating the tedious task of placing and turning over each page by hand.

Duplex Copying/Printing

The AR-C170M can make two-sided copies and printouts when equipped with the

optional duplex module and duplex bypass/inverter unit, effectively reducing paper costs as well as saving filing space. Auto duplexing is available for paper weights

up to 200 g/m

. This allows you, for example, to create impressive company brochures and business proposals by using thick paper for the cover.

Large Paper Capacity

For added security, the Confidential Print function requires the user to enter in a personal identification number at the machine before printing can begin.

Data Security Kit

With the RSPF, the AR-C170M scans both pages of two-sided documents and sorts them in memory. The pages are then transmitted in the proper order. Thanks to the optional duplex module, the AR-C170M can also print incoming faxes onto both sides of paper, thus saving you paper costs.

Multi Access Function

You get two different functions simultaneously; for example, you can scan documents into memory for transmission while you receive an incoming fax.

You can set the AR-C170M to this ultra-high resolution to give the recipient crisp, clear reproduction of detailed images and fine text.

• F-Code communication enables confidential communication, relay request transmission and memory polling with fax machines from other brands that conform to the ITU-T F-Code (sub-address and pass code) standard

The embedded Network Interface provides highly secure operation by restricting access to the AR-C170M on your office network. Only PCs that have either or both their IP address or MAC (media access control) address registered are allowed to use the AR-C170M. Attempted access from an unknown IP or MAC address will be denied, preventing unauthorised use.
