Tips During Operation
Fill the hoppers on top of the machine with whole beans only. The machine grinds the beans freshly for each shot.
The left hopper is intended for decaffeinated coffee beans.
The right hopper is intended for regular coffee beans.
Bean Hopper Locks
Use the multitool to release the bean hoppers for weekly cleaning. Refer
to page 23 for weekly hopper cleaning instructions.
Cleaning Tablet Funnel
The cleaning tablet funnel is located between the two bean hoppers. Only
Schaerer Cleaning Tablets should be dropped into this funnel during the
cleaning procedure. Refer to pages 19-22 for daily cleaning instructions.
Use only Schaerer Cleaning Tablets (item # 65221) for the
daily cleaning procedure. Refer to page11 for reordering
cleaning tablets.
Grounds Bin
The grounds bin is located below and behind the coffee spout. It holds the
used grounds that are disposed of after each beverage is brewed. The bin
slides straight out, then upward from the machine and must be emptied
periodically or when prompted on the display.
The brewing arm is located on the right panel. The brewing arm is for dispensing into a large container/urn*. When the brew arm is pulled out, all
beverage buttons are inactive except for hot water. Dispensing may take
several minutes depending on volume.
Brewing arm option is available on this model:
03.1210.8001 Coffee Press with Brewing Arm
* Urn not included.
Drip Tray Grill and Drip Tray
The drip tray grill is removable for easy cleaning and access to the inside
of the drip tray.
The drip tray should be connected to a fi xed drain line. The purpose of this
‘basin’ is to funnel any spilled liquids down the drain. To prevent blockage,
we recommend that you avoid fl ushing large quantities of milk and/or
used coffee grounds down the drain.
