Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Samson RTE 2 Bluetooth® Headphones! These Bluetooth headphones allow you to enjoy your music and other audio free of cables. These on-ear headphones also feature an incredibly comfortable, low-proﬁle design, along with Samson’s signature studio reference digital voicing, for a truly remarkable listening experience with no limits.

The RTE 2 headphones pair seamlessly with Bluetooth compatible devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones, to wirelessly stream music up to 30’ away from the audio source. The headphones feature aptX® technology for enhanced, high quality streaming audio*.

The RTE 2 Bluetooth Headphones feature a variety of controls on the ear cup allowing you to move both forward and backward through your playlists, adjust the volume, as well as pause your music when the outside world requires your attention. Ideal for use with smartphones, the RTE 2 Bluetooth Headphones have an onboard microphone, as well as a Receive/End call button on the right ear cup, so you can take calls without ever having to touch your phone.

With a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery, the RTE 2 Bluetooth Headphones can operate for over 14 hours at a full listening level, not to mention 200 hours in standby mode. The headphones can be charged from your computer via the included USB cable. For times when wireless connectivity is not possible, the RTE 2 headphones include an 1/8” (3.5mm) input for connecting directly to your audio source.

Featuring premium 40mm drivers surrounded by cushioned ear cups and an adjustable padded headband, Samson’s RTE 2 Bluetooth Headphones are unmatched in sound, comfort and wireless capability.

Should your headphones ever require servicing, a Return Authorization (RA) number must be obtained before shipping your unit to Samson. Without this number, the unit will not be accepted. Please call Samson at 1-800-3SAMSON (1-800-372-6766) for an RA number prior to shipping your unit. Please retain the original packing materials and, if possible, return the unit in its original carton and packing materials. If you purchased your Samson product outside the United States, please contact your local distributor for warranty and service information. 3RTE 2 Bluetooth® Headphones

Quick Start

Fully charge your RTE 2 Bluetooth Headphones before ﬁrst use.

1. To charge your headphones plug the included USB cable into the USB port of your computer or a USB 5-volt plug the smaller end of the cable into the bottom of the right ear cup of your headphones. port of your headphones.

Pairing your headphones to your device for wireless operation via Bluetooth

1. With the headphones powered off press and hold the Multi-Function button (located next to the charging port on the bottom of the right ear cup) for 5 seconds.

2. You will hear a quiet tone and the indicator light will ﬂash blue once, then ﬂash red for 3 seconds then you will hear a louder repeating two note tone and the indicator will repeatedly ﬂash blue. Your headphones have now entered pairing mode.

3. Go into the Bluetooth settings/preferences of your music source and make sure your device is in discoverable mode.

4. In your music source’s Bluetooth preferences select “Samson RTE 2”

5. If your device asks for a passkey, enter digits 0000 (four zeros) and press OK.

Charging the battery

The RTE 2 headphones contains a battery capable of up to 14 hours of usage. Although the headphones battery will come partially charged from the factory, it is recommended to fully charge the battery before using the headphones. To charge the battery, the headset has to be connected with the included USB cable.

1. Connect the micro-USB plug into the USB port in the right side of the headphones.

2. Plug the large end in the USB port of the computer or USB 5-volt adapter.

3. While the battery is charging, a constant green light will illuminate on the right side of the headset. Once the battery is fully charged, the green indicator light will turn off.

Note: When not in use, the battery will slowly self-discharge. If you are planning not to use the headphones for a long period of time, it is advised to partially discharge the unit and store in a cool place. Never leave your headphones in a hot environment, especially exposed to the sun.

Connecting with a

In order to use your RTE 2 headphones with a Bluetooth device, you must ﬁrst pair the devices to create a wireless connection. The RTE 2 headphones will automatically connect to the Bluetooth device as long as the headphones have not been paired to another device.

1. With the headphones powered off, press and hold the Multi-function button for 5 second. A repeating two note audible sound will play and the indicator light will ﬂash blue. The headphones are now in pairing mode.

Note: While you are holding down the Multi-function button, the indicator will (1) ﬂash blue once, (2) ﬂash red for three seconds, then (3) repeatedly ﬂash blue.

2. In the settings of your Bluetooth device, set it to “discover” available devices.

3. From the Bluetooth device list, select the “Samson RTE 2” device.

4. If your device asks for a passkey, enter digits 0000 (four zeros) and press OK. Some devices may also ask you to accept the connection.

5. When the connection is established, the indicator light will ﬂash a blue light two times every 5 seconds.

Note: To clear the pairing settings from the headset, turn off the headset. Then press and hold the Multi-function button simultaneously with the down “–” volume button for 8 seconds. The indicator light will ﬂash red and blue three times to indicate the pairing has been cleared.

Connecting with an NFC

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a protocol that allows you to connect your RTE 2 headphones to your Bluetooth device with NFC technology simply by touching the device or bringing the device into close proximity.

1. Enable the NFC function on your Bluetooth device.

2. Gently touch your music device on the RTE 2’s NFC detection area (located on the center of the left ear-cup).

3. Your music device should now recognize the signal from the headset.

Note: If the music device and the headset are pairing for the ﬁrst time, you will need to accept the pairing on the music device.

4. When the signal has been accepted on your music device, the headset will be paired and ready for use.

7RTE 2 Bluetooth® Headphones

Using the Optional Audio Cable

The headset has an auxiliary input located on the left ear cup. The auxiliary input can be used to listen to music from most devices with a 3.5mm audio output. This allows the headphones to work with devices without Bluetooth technology, if the headphone battery is not charged, or if wireless connectivity is not available.

The headphones do not need to be powered on when using the auxiliary input. Simply plug the cable into the 3.5mm input and your respective audio device.

Note: When the AUX cable is inserted, the Bluetooth function and the built-in microphone will be disabled.

Prise en mains rapide

Rechargez à fond votre Casque d'écoute Bluetooth® RTE 2 avant la première utilisation.

1. Pour recharger votre casque, branchez le câble USB ci-joint dans le port USB de votre ordinateur ou sur un adaptateur USB 5Volts de smartphone), puis introduisez le petit bout du câble dans l'oriﬁce situé sous l'écouteur droit de votre casque. au-dessus du port de recharge du casque.

2. Lorsque la batterie sera rechargée à fond, le témoin lumineux vert situé au-dessus du port de recharge s'éteindra.

Pour apparier votre casque à votre appareil pour une utilisation sans ﬁl via Bluetooth® :

1. Le casque étant éteint, appuyez sur le bouton Multi-Fonctions et maintenez-le enfoncé (il se trouve à côté du port de recharge, sous l'écouteur droit) pendant 5 secondes.

2. Vous entendrez un signal sonore doux et le témoin lumineux clignotera une fois en bleu, puis clignotera en rouge pendant 3secondes, après quoi on entendra un signal sonore répétitif plus fort à deux notes et le témoin lumineux clignotera de façon répétée en bleu. Le casque est alors passé en mode Appariement.

3. Allez dans les paramètres/préférences Bluetooth® de votre source de musique et faites en sorte que votre appareil soit en mode Découverte.

Recharge de la batterie

Le casque RTE 2 contient une batterie dont l'autonomie peut aller jusqu'à 14heures d'utilisation. Bien que la batterie du casque soit partiellement rechargée d'origine, il est conseillé de la recharger à fond avant de se servir du casque. Pour recharger la batterie, il faut relier le casque au câble USB ci-joint.

1. Introduisez la prise micro-USB dans le port USB situé côté droit du casque.

2. Introduisez la grande extrémité dans le port USB de l'ordinateur ou sur l'adaptateur USB 5Volts.

3. Pendant que la batterie est en recharge, un témoin lumineux vert s'allumera en continu sur le côté droit du casque d'écoute. Une fois la batterie rechargée à fond, le témoin lumineux vert s'éteindra.

Remarque: Au repos, la batterie se déchargera lentement. Si vous prévoyez de ne pas vous servir du casque d'écoute pendant longtemps, il est conseillé de décharger partiellement l'appareil avant de le ranger au frais. Ne laissez jamais votre casque d'écoute à très haute température, en particulier en plein soleil.

Branchement à un dispositif

Pour utiliser votre casque d'écoute RTE 2 avec un dispositif Bluetooth®, vous devez commencer par apparier les appareils pour établir une connexion sans ﬁl. Le casque d'écoute RTE 2 se connectera automatiquement au dispositif Bluetooth® tant que le casque n'aura pas été apparié à un autre dispositif.

1. Le casque étant sur Arrêt, appuyez sur le bouton Multi-fonctions et maintenez-le enfoncé pendant 5secondes. Un son audible de deux notes répétées retentira et le témoin lumineux clignotera en bleu. Le casque est alors en mode Appariement.

Remarque: Pendant que vous maintenez enfoncé le bouton Multi-fonctions, le témoin lumineux (1) clignotera en bleu une fois, (2) clignotera en rouge pendant trois secondes, puis (3) clignotera en bleu de façon répétée.

2. Dans les paramètres de votre dispositif Bluetooth®, le régler pour qu'il “détecte” les appareils disponibles.

3. Dans la liste des dispositifs Bluetooth®, choisissez le dispositif “Samson RTE 2”.

4. Si votre dispositif vous demande un code d'accès, tapez les chiffres 0000 (quatre zéros), puis validez par OK. Certains dispositifs peuvent vous demander d'accepter la connexion.

5. Lorsque la liaison sera établie, le témoin lumineux clignotera en bleu deux fois toutes les 5secondes.

Remarque: Pour supprimer les paramètres d'appariement du casque d'écoute, éteignez-le. Ensuite, appuyez sur le bouton Multi-fonctions et maintenez-le enfoncé en même temps que le bouton de réduction du volume “–” pendant 8secondes. Le témoin lumineux clignotera en rouge et en bleu par trois fois pour signaler que l'appariement a été supprimé.
