thickness as the baseboard with a 10 mm hole can be used for this purpose (fig. 2). To shorten the activator wire
guide, the guide shaft is inserted into the hole. The part of the wire guide protruding from the opposite side is
cut off along the plate surface with a fine-toothed hobby saw (fig. 2). The properly shortened wire guide is then
replaced in the under-baseboard motor housing while taking care that the activator lever (4) is in the correct posi
tion (fig. 4). The reassembled motor is inserted with the guide shaft up into the 10 mm hole and the activator wire
is inserted into the throw bar at the same time. The under-baseboard motor is then adjusted to correspond to the
direction of the turnout - the activator wire movement should be in the same direction as the turnout movement.
The motor is fastened through the mounting straps of the frame (5) with screws. The protruding actuator wire is
clipped about 1 mm above the throw bar with diagonal cutting pliers. To avoid possible injuries the sharp edges
of the wire should be smoothed with a grinding wheel or abrasive paper.
3. Replacement of the activator wire
Two additional activator wires are supplied. For possible replacement of the activator wire, the wire
holder (7) must be pulled out of the activator lever (fig. 3). The replacement wire is placed into the holder
and pushed back into the activator lever.
4. Wiring of the under-baseboard motor
The ROCO under-baseboard motor has a twin coil end-of-stroke power disconnect system and can be
operated from any double-pole momentary-contact switch, e.g. ROCO turnout switch 10520. The wiring
of the motor should be done preferably with the ROCO cable/ connector system, since it is matched to all
electrical ROCO layout components it assures a reliable and neat assembly.
Circuit diagram 10 shows the connections to a ROCO turnout switch 10520. Circuit diagram 2 shows the
connections via a standard turnout switch (WS) and the connection diagram for polarising the frog. The
control connections can be made only through the centre terminals.
For normal installations the under - baseboard turnout motor requires a clearance height of at least 55
mm (2-3/16“). If necessary, the motor can be installed in a horizontal position which requires only 32
mm (1-1/4“) clearance.
For horizontal installation, the motor must be converted. The necessary conversion parts are supplied
with the motor.
1. Remove linkage wire guide (3) and linkage lever (4).
2. Spread mounting frame (5) and remove by pulling down (fig. 5).
3. Slide angled mounting frame (9) on the motor until it locks in place (fig. 6).
4. Insert linkage wire (10) into linkage lever (11) and lock in place with cap (12) (fig. 7).
5. Insert linkage lever - the pin of the linkage lever must be located in the cam slot of the motor (fig. 8).
6. Press on cover (13) - then the under-baseboard motor can be attached with the screw notches in the
mount (fig. 9).
If the Motor is installed in a horizontal position, the turnout lanterns can not be used.
