Even if the eject master is transported properly, it is possible that the maste r eject sensor will not detect the master
when the master is transported over the sensor actu at or.
To prevent this, a cutout [A] is added to the guide plat e - exit un it [B ], and the length of the sen sor act ua to r [ C] ha s

DETAILS OF MODIFICATION
1. To ensure smooth original feed, the angle of the separation spring plate [A] has been changed from
30.5° to 24°. Also, the position of the plate [A] has been shifted by changing the screw hole positions.
2. To facilitate service, the ADF friction pad ass’y [B] which includes the ADF friction pad [C] has been
registered as a service part instead of the separation spring plate [A].
3. New mylars (original guide mylar, index 19) [D] have been installed on the upper guide plate [D] to
prevent double feed. These mylars push the second original up to ensure the original registration
sensor can detect a gap between the 1st original trailing edge and 2nd original leading edge. This
prevents two original from being fed continuously.

To reduce noise, two insulators [A] and bushings [B] have been inserted between the pressure motor [C]
and the right side plate. [D]
Due to this modification, the two screws [E] fixing the motor have been changed from 3mm to 4mm. Also,
to keep the relation of the position between the pressure plate gear and the worm gear, [F] the
configuration of the right side plate has been changed.
