1. About Firmware Updates

This manual explains how to update the software for SG series network boards.

2. Operating Environment

A Web browser is required for use.
To use t he Web browser, specify the TCP/IP protoc ols of your c omputer and the ma ­chine.

4. Caution

To up date the fir mware to versio n 2.0.0 or later, the current fi rmware must be vers ion

1.9.0.
If the current f ir mware is ear lier t han versio n 1.9.0, update it fir st to versio n 1.9.0, and
then to version 2.0.0 or later.
To check the firmware version, print the configuration page.

5. Firmware Update Operating Instructions

These instructions explain how to update the firmware of the machine.

Before you start the update, make sure of the following:

The machine is in standby mode.
No applications are running on the computer.

The following procedure uses Windows 7 screenshots.

1. Open a Web browser.

2. Enter "http://(the machine's IP address or host name)/" in the address bar.

3. Click [Administrator Login].

The following screen appears.

4. Enter the login name and password, and then click [OK].

The default login name for admi nistrators is "admin". No login password is set up.
To ensure security, it is important you change the password.

5. In the menu area, click [Settings].

6. Click [ROM Update].

7. Select the update file (***.bin).

Enter the path to the file in [ Firmware File Name] or click [B rowse...] and s elect the
file.

8. Click [Update].

Updating starts.
When the update file transfer completes, the following message appears:
