The new option, Printer Interface Type 200 will be released soon. This is the successor model
to PIF Type 100/130.

This technical bulletin contains the installation procedure and information on compatibility with
the curr ent PIF Type 100/130.

inc ludes the c ontro l software for new PIF Type 200 and Type 100/130.

(Installation)

1. When the firmware version is known and when it is the new one, follow the Instruciton
manual attached, and install the driver software in the PC.

2. When the firmware ver sion is not k nown, check the firmware version with RDS by printing
the system report.
When it is the new one, follow the step 1.
When it is the old one, install the new firmware into the machine and follow step 1.

(NOTES)

The following information is not contained in the instruction manual till June ’96 production.

NOTE 1: Only for FX6 series and FX4.

After ins ta lling the P I/F Type 200, please put the mylar which is included in the carton over the gap between the
rear cover and the P I/F Type 200 unit as shown in the diagrams below.

NOTE 2 : Only for FX6 (Europe & Asia)

The first shipment (April Production ’96) of the PIF 200 does not include a grounding plate

for FX6.
When the unit will be installed in an FX6, use a new grounding plate as shown below.
