INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, especially when
children are present, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following.

To reduce the risk of electric shock:
1. Always unplug this appliance immediately
after using.
2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower.
3. Do not place or store appliance where it
can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
4. Do not place or drop into water or other
liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it”
immediately. Do not reach into the water.
WARNING

fire, or injury to persons:
1. This appliance is for household use only.
2. An appliance should never be left unat-
tended when plugged in.
3. Close supervision is necessary when this
appliance is used by, on, or near children
or invalids.
4. Use this appliance only for its intended
use as described in this manual. Do not
use
attachments not recommended by
Remington.
5. Never operate this appliance if it has a
damaged cord or plug; if it is not working
properly; or if it has been dropped, damaged or dropped into water. Return the
appliance to the Remington Customer
Service Center for examination and repair.
6. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
Do not wrap cord around the appliance.
7. Do not use an extension cord with this
appliance.
8. Never block the air openings of the appliance or place it on a soft surface, such as
bed or couch, where the air openings may
be blocked. Keep the air openings free of
lint, hair, etc.
9. Never use while sleeping.
10.Never drop or insert any object into any
opening.
11.Do not use outdoors or operate where
aerosol (spray) products are being used or
where oxygenis being administered.
12.Connect this appliance to a properly
grounded outlet only.

13. Unplug this appliance before filling. Fill the
removable re s e rvoir with 2 teaspoons of water.
If you choose, add a half capful of the pro v i d ed Vitamin Complex. Do not use any complex
not recommended by the manufacture r. Do
not overf i l l .
14.Use only 2 teaspoons of water whether
you use the vitamin complex or not.
15.Use hairsetter on a flat, heat resistant
surface.
16.When opening the lid, keep clear of steam
to minimize the risk of scalding.
17.Do not touch the posts that hold the
rollers. They are hot.

Operating Instructions
1.This appliance is designed to work on ordinary household
current only (120 volts,60 cycles AC).It is not intended for
commercial use.
2. Place the unit on a hard,flat,heat resistant surface.
3. While the hairsetter is unplugged,fill the removable water
reservoir with a half capful of the Vitamin Complex provided
and 2 teaspoons of water. Do not over fill.Remove a roller
from the middle and place the reservoir on the heating post.
CLOSELID and plug cord into outlet.Allow unit to heat for
approximately 10 minutes.When the ready dot turns dark
the rollers are ready to use.
4. If you do not use the vitamin complex,use only 2 teaspoons
of water in the reservoir. Do not over fill.Remove a roller
from the middle and place the reservoir on the heating post.
CLOSELID and plug cord into outlet.Allow unit to heat for
approximately 10 minutes.When the ready dot turns dark
the rollers are ready to use.
5. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other).As a safety feature,this plug will fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fully fit in the outlet,
reverse the plug.If it still does not fit,contact a qualified
electrician to install a polarized outlet.Never try to defeat
this safety feature.
Maintenance Instructions
1. Clean unit with damp cloth only. No other maintenance is
required.
2. Velvety rollers may be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild
detergent or soap.
3. Removable water reservoir may be cleaned with warm water
and a mild detergent or soap.
4. Store appliance and cord where they will not be damaged.
5. Do not wrap cord around hairsetter.
6. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.Return to
Remington Customer Service.

Get Ready
If you are using steam,open the cover and
follow step #3 in the Operating Instructions
section. CLOSE COVER so the mist that forms
during heating will not escape. CLOSE COVER
for heating without steam too.Plug cord into
outlet. • Allow Protect & Shine™ to heat for
about 10 minutes.When the ready-dot turns
dark,the rollers are ready to use.
Get Set
• Hair should be dry or only slightly damp,
never wet. For looser curls,put more hair on
each roller. • Section hair and place roller at
hair ends.Gently wrap the ends of your hair
around the roller and then continue to firmly
roll the full length of the hair in the direction
of desired style.Place a clip over the roller to
secure roller. • Continue to set entire head.
Unplug the unit when done.• Leave rollers in
place for about 5 minutes.Each type of hair and hair style requires a different amount of setting.The longer the roller is left in,the more firm the
curl.Decide how long you want to keep the rollers in place to get the
curl you want.Rollers will remain curling active for 10 minutes.
• Remove rollers when ready, starting with
rollers you placed in first.Remove each clip
and roller gently. Unwind,never pull.Let each
new curl spring back into position and cool for
a minute.
