When using an electric shaver, basic precautions should
always be observed,including the following. Read all
instructions before using this shaver.

To reduce the risk of electric shock:

■ Do not reach for a shaver that has fallen into water.
Unplug it immediately.

■ Do not use while bathing or in the shower.

■ Do not place or drop shaver into water or other liquid.

■ Do not place or store shaver where it can fall or be

pulled into a tub or sink.

■ Except when charging, always unplug this shaver from
the electrical outlet immediately after using.

■ Unplug this shaver before cleaning.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric
shock, or injury to persons:

■ Use this shaver only for its intended use as described in
this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended
by the manufacturer.

■ Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

■ Never operate this shaver if it has a damaged cord

or plug,if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped
or damaged,or dropped into water. Return the shaver to a
service center for examination and repair.

Getting a Close, Comfortable Shave

Congratulations on your purchase of a premium
Remington®shaver.

As with every shaver, your shave will improve
over time. So allow about three weeks to develop
an effective shaving style and for your beard to
adjust to the new shaver.The adaptation period
may take a little longer if your skin is sensitive,
or if you alternate between shaving methods.

Special Instructions
Note: The following instructions should be

followed for at least 10 days of shaving.

• Wash face with warm water and soap and

towel dry thoroughly.

• Using a gentle pressure,shave against the
grain with short up-and-down strokes.

• After shaving,wash face again and towel dry.

• It is important to shave daily with light pres­sure,carefully cutting all your beard,and to
keep your face clean.

Caution: If you use a depilatory or are a blade
user with sensitive skin, your face may become
irritated by heavy shaving pressure or use of the
beard lifter.Some people have skin conditions
that make shaving by any means
you are in doubt,please consult your doctor.

Always use a clean,dry shaver.

Wait at least 15 minutes after getting
up before shaving, to ensure the face is
free of puffiness that may be present
from sleeping.

Make sure your face is clean and dry
before starting.

To start, use the Beard Lifter comb on
a daily basis,even if you don’t shave
every day, to lift flat curly hairs and
set up your beard for shaving. Rub
the Beard Lifter over your beard area,
across the grain in short back-and­forth strokes, applying as much pres­sure as is comfortable.

When you shave, hold the shaver as
shown, using short,gentle, up-and­down strokes against the grain of your
beard.

In the neck area and directly under the
chin,stretch the skin taut, allowing flat
curly hairs access to the inner moving
blades. Try a circular motion if your
beard tends to grow in different
directions.

Never press hard. Pressing hard only
flattens your whiskers, which makes
it harder for them to enter the cutting
chamber.It may also cause damage to
the shaver heads.

For a Better Shave…

To help maximize your shaver’s performance,consider using the
Remington®Pre-Shave Powder Stick (SP-5) or the Remington
Pre-Shave Lotion with Aloe (SP-6).Just rub either product over
your beard. Both products absorb moisture and facial oils,
helping set up the hairs so they enter the cutting chamber more
easily. They make shaving quicker and more comfortable.These
products may be purchased at your local retailer, on our website,
or by calling 800-736-4648.

Cleaning Your Shaver

TO ASSURE SMOOTH,EFFICIENT PERFORMANCE,IT
IS IMPORTANT TO CLEAN YOUR SHAVER.

DISCONNECT POWER CORD IF ATTACHED.

After each shave,turn the shaver OFF and remove
the Hairpocket by pressing on the Hairpocket Release
buttons.With the Head Assembly already exposed,
brush and blow out the hair clippings from the heads
and cutters.For a more thorough cleaning,remove
the cutter located inside of each of the heads (see
“To Remove Cutters”section),and brush thoroughly.
After cleaning,reattach the Hairpocket to the shaver.

Important: Because the shaver has two types of
head configurations (closed and open),and because
the heads and cutters tend to wear and conform to
each other over time,it is important to keep them as
a matched set. To prevent mixing parts during clean­ing, it is recommended to remove,clean,and replace
one cutter at a time.

Attention: Never put the shaver partially or
completely into water.

■ Daily cleaning of the cutting system is recom­mended to ensure optimum shaving performance.
To clean and lubricate your shaver's cutters and
head assembly,apply Remington®Shaver Saver
Lubricant (SP-4).The lubricant helps remove hair
clippings while reducing wear.A quick spray after
each shave keeps your shaver operating at peak
performance. Do not use an aggressive cleansing
agent as this may destroy the shaver coatings.

Caution: Do not remove or replace the head assembly while
shaver is running,as it may damage the cutting system.

■Worn or damaged parts should be replaced with Remington
replacement parts only.

To Remove Cutters

1.Remove the Head Assembly by pulling it
away from the shaver body (see Fig.1).

2.Turn Head Assembly upside down,and
place on top of a flat surface.

3.Insert the tip of a screwdriver (or other
narrow tip object) into the center bend of
the cutter,press down lightly,and gently
push sideways to slide the cutter outside

the Head (see Fig.2).

4.To reinsert the cutter, align one of its ends

with one of the side openings in the head,
compress the cutter spring lightly,
and gently slide cutter back into place.

Shaver Operation

■ To switch the shaver ON,press down on the Switch
Lock feature,and slide the On/Off Button toward the
top of the shaver.

■To switch the shaver OFF,simply slide the On/Off
Button towards the bottom of the shaver. (There is
no need to press on the Switch Lock feature.)

Charging

B e fore using your shaver for the first time, put it on charge
for 24 hours.

To charge your shaver:

■ Slide the power button downward to the "Off"
position.

■ Connect the AC power cord to the shaver and then to
the electric outlet.A green indicator light will come on.

■ Your shaver cannot be overcharged,so you can leave
it plugged in and charging between shaves.

■ Use only the AC line cord supplied with the shaver.

■ The ES-1000 comes with a special feature that

allows you to shave when the battery charge is low
Just follow the steps above to connect
cord and turn on the shaver. Your shaver will not
charge while you are shaving,so after shaving,
turn off the shaver and leave it plugged in so it
can recharge.

Note: Your ES-1000 cord/cordless shaver should not
be used strictly as a cord-operated shaver, as continued
cord-only use will shorten the life of the battery.

Indicator Lights

■ Green - Lights up when the shaver is charging.

■ Red - Lights up if the battery is low.When it first

comes on,you have approximately 5 to 6 minutes
of shaving time left before the shaver must be
recharged.

Note: To preserve the life of the batteries,they should
be fully discharged every six months and then fully
charged for 24 hours.

You can take your ES-1000 shaver with you when you travel just
about anywhere in the world.The shaver features wo
automatic voltage conversion.

Battery Removal

When your rechargeable shaver reaches the end of its useful life,
the batteries must be removed from the shaver and be recycled
or disposed of properly in accordance with your state and local
requirements.

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE SHOULD BE
FOLLOWED FOR BATTERY REMOVAL:

■ Turn the shaver OFF,and unplug power
cord from electric outlet to avoid possible
electric shock hazard.

■ Remove Hairpocket and Head assembly.

■ Unfasten the two screws located along

the top of the rear housing (see Fig.1).

■ Remove plate from top of the shaver
(see Fig.2 ) .

■ Squeeze the front housing and pull it
aw ay from the rear housing to expose the
electrical board and batteries (see Fig.3).

■ Cut or break the metal tabs that connect the
batteries to the electrical board (see Fig.4).

■ Lift the batteries off (see Fig.4a).

pasar unas tres semanas para desarrollar un
estilo de afeitarse eficaz y para que su barba
se ajuste a la nueva afeitadora.El período de
adaptación puede tomar un poco más de tiempo
si su piel es sensible o si alterna entre diversos
métodos de afeitarse.

Instrucciones Especiales
Nota: Las siguientes instrucciones deben seguirse

• Lávese la cara con agua tibia y jabón y

séquela bien con una toalla.

• Usando una ligera presión,aféitese en sentido
contrario a la direccion de la barba con

mente y séquela con una toalla.

• Es importante afeitarse diariamente con poca

Siempre use una afeitadora limpia y
seca.

Espere por lo menos 15 minutos
después de levantarse antes de
afeitarse,para asegurar que su cara
está libre de la hinchazón que puede
quedar al dormir.

Asegúrese que su cara está limpia
y seca antes de comenzar.

Para comenzar,use el peine Levantador
de Barba todos los días, aunque no se
afeite diariamente,para levantar los

cortos y suaves de arriba a abajo en

de su barba.

En la zona del cuello y directamente
debajo de la mandíbula, estire bien la
piel,dejando entrar los pelos planos
y rizados a las cuchillas internas en
movimiento.Aplique una moción
circular si su barba tiende a crecer
en diferentes direcciones.

Nunca presione fuerte.Al hacerlo, sólo
consigue aplastar sus pelos,haciendo
más difícil que ingresen a la cámara de
corte. También puede dañar los cabeza­les de la afeitadora.

Para una mejor afeitada…

Para ayudar a maximizar el desempeño de su razuradora,
considere usar la Varilla de Polvo Previa a la Afeitada (SP-5)
Remington®o la Loción Previa a la Afeitada con Aloe (SP-6)
Remington®. Basta frotar cualquiera de los dos productos sobre
su barba. Ambos productos absorben la humedad y aceites
faciales, ayudando a fijar los pelos para que puedan entrar a la
cámara de corte con mayor facilidad. Eso hace que su afeitada

Limpieza de su Máquina de Afeitar

PARA ASEGURAR UN DESEMPEÑO SUAVE Y
EFICIENTE,ES IMPORTANTE LIMPIAR SU MÁQUINA
DE AFEITAR.

DESCONECTE EL CORDÓN DE ENERGÍA SI ESTÁ
CONECTADO.

Después de cada afeitada,ap ague la afeitadora y
remueva el Bolsillo de Pelo oprimiendo los botones
para soltarlo.Con el conjunto del Cabezal ya expuesto,
cepille y sople los residuos de pelos de los cabezales y
las cuchillas.Para una limpieza más profunda, r e m u e­va las cuchillas situadas dentro de cada uno de los
c abezales (ver la sección “Para Remover las Cuchillas”)
y cepille completamente.Después de limpiar,vuelva a
fijar el Bolsillo de Pelo a la afeitadora.

Importante: Debido a que la máquina de afeitar
tiene dos tipos de configuraciones de cabezal (cerra­do y abierto), y debido a que los cabezales y cuchillas
tienden a desgastarse y a adaptarse uno al otro con
el transcurso del tiempo,es importante mantenerlos
como juego.Para evitar mezclar las piezas durante
la limpieza,se recomienda remover,limpiar y reem­plazar las cuchillas de una en una.

Atención: Nunca ponga la razuradora parcial o
completamente dentro de agua.

■ Se recomienda la limpieza diaria del sistema de
corte para asegurar el desempeño óptimo de la
afeitada.Para limpiar y lubricar las cuchillas y el
conjunto del cabezal de su afeitadora, aplique el
Lubricante Shaver Saver®(SP-4) Remington®. El
lubricante ayuda a remover los residuos de pelo a
la vez que reduce el desgaste.Un rápido rociado

después de cada afeitada mantiene su máquina de afeitar
en perfecto funcionamiento.No use un agente agresivo
de limpieza ya que puede destruir el recubrimiento de la
máquina de afeitar.

Precaución: No remueva o reemplace el
conjunto del cabezal mientras la afeitadora
está funcionando,ya que puede dañarse el
sistema de corte.

■ Las piezas desgastadas o dañadas deben
ser reemplazadas sólo con repuestos
Remington®.

Para remover las cuchillas

1.Remueva el conjunto del Cabezal sepa-

rándolo del cuerpo de la razuradora
(ver la Fig. 1).

2.Voltee el conjunto del Cabezal hacia abajo

y colóquelo sobre una superficie plana.

3.Inserte la punta de un destornillador (u otro objeto de punta

delgada) en el doblez central de la cuchilla,presione ligera­mente hacia abajo y empuje suavemente al costado para
deslizar la cuchilla fuera del Cabezal (ver la Fig. 2).

4.Para volver a insertar la cuchilla,alínee uno de sus extremos

con una de las aberturas laterales en el Cabezal,oprima
ligeramente el resorte de la cuchilla,y suavemente deslice
la cuchilla de vuelta a su sitio.

Operación de la Afeitadora

■ Para encender la afeitadora,oprima el Seguro del
Interruptor y deslice el Botón On/Off
[Encendido/Apagado] hacia la parte superior de la
afeitadora.

■ Para apagar la afeitadora,basta deslizar el Botón
On/Off [Encendido/Apagado] hacia la parte inferior de
la afeitadora (No es necesario oprimir el Seguro del
Interruptor).

Carga

Antes de usar su razuradora por primera vez, debe cargarla

durante 24 horas.

Para cargar su afeitadora:

■ Deslice el botón de energía hacia la posición "Off"
[Apagado].

■ Conecte el cordón de energía CA a la afeitadora y
luego al tomacorrientes eléctrico.Se encenderá una
luz indicadora verde.

■ Su máquina de afeitar no puede ser sobrecargada,
por lo que puede dejarla enchufada y cargando se
entre afeitadas.

■ Use solamente el cordón CA suministrado con la
afeitadora.

■ La ES-1000 viene con una característica especial
que le permite afeitarse cuando la carga de la
batería está baja.Basta seguir los pasos anteriores
para conectar el cordón de energía CA y encender la
afeitadora.Su máquina de afeitar no cargará mien­tras usted se esté afeitando,por lo que después de
afeitarse debe apagarla y dejarla enchufada para que
pueda recargarse.

Nota:

Su razuradora ES-1000 con cordón/sin cordón no debe
usarse estrictamente como una máquina operada con
cordón,ya que el uso continuado con cordón reducirá la
vida de la batería.

Luces Indicadoras

■ Verde – Se enciende cuando la afeitadora está cargando.

■ Rojo – Se enciende si la batería está baja.Cuando recién se

enciende,le quedan aproximadamente 5 a 6 minutos de tiempo
de afeitado antes que la máquina deba ser recargada.

Nota:

Para conservar la vida de las baterías,deben ser descargadas com­pletamente cada seis meses y luego cargadas completamente
durante 24 horas.

Voltaje Mundial

Puede llevar consigo su afeitadora ES-1000 cuando viaje práctica­mente a cualquier parte del mundo.La máquina de afeitar cuenta
con conversión automática de voltaje para todo el mundo.

Remoción de las Baterías

Cuando su razuradora recargable llega al final
de su vida útil,las baterías deben ser removi­das de la afeitadora y recicladas o eliminadas
correctamente de conformidad con los requisi­tos estatales y locales.

DEBE SEGUIRSE EL SIGUIENTE PROCEDIMIENTO
PARA LA REMOCIÓN DE LAS BATERÍAS:

■ Apague la afeitadora y desenchufe el
cordón de energía del tomacorrientes
eléctrico para evitar posibles riesgos
de descarga eléctrica.

■ Remueva el Bolsillo de Pelo y el conjunto
del Cabezal.

■ Suelte los dos tornillos situado a lo largo
dela parte superior de la caja posterior
(ver la Fig.1).

■ Remueva la placa de la parte superior
de la afeitadora (ver la Fig.2).

■Apriete la caja delantera y sáquela de la
caja posterior para mostrar la tarjeta
eléctrica y las baterías (ver la Fig.3).

■ Corte o rompa las aletas de metal que
conectan las batería a la tarjeta eléctrica
(ver la Fig.4).

■ Levante y saque las baterías (ver la Fig.4a).

■ Elimine correctamente las baterías
